Gotta give props to Toga for going for it, even if chances were slim. Hope she gives the heroes a run for their money.
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...
My Hero Academia II - A true Hero

"Just a freaking nerd." Well, they're not wrong.
Gotta give props to Toga for going for it, even if chances were slim. Hope she gives the heroes a run for their money.
She has Twice's blood, don't forget.

Vigilante talk
! Nice combo between Toshinori and Enji. And damn 6 still kicking.
-
Interested what No. 6 will do with so many heroes around. This has to be his last stand. Things may even end next chapter if No. 6 is the thing Aizawa started rushing toward. Also, I seriously can't get enough of Eraser Head and The Crawler. They're such a fun team.

Todoroki Toya: Origin
https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1013004 -
We did not get enough Todoroki family drama and flashbacks so here is some more.
-
It was AFO all along. Even when you thought it wasn't, it was actually AFO. AFO and doctor is always there, watching and waiting for any major disaster to happen. Or if AFO is in a good mood, he decides to fuck with random people too. No one ever did anything bad or has any legitimate reason to actually ever do anything bad, it's just AFO's negative influence on them. AFO probably stole Izuku's quirk too that bastard! And I bet it's AFO's fault that Izukus father is never at home.
No but seriously, from the way his skin is disintegrating, I get the feeling it really was AFO/doctor. Hope not though
-
Agreed. I don't want AFO at the center of everything, but to be fair he hasn't been for any of the other League of Villains members. But, I can't think of any way Toya could've survived without someone's help.
2nd OFA User's quirk is getting the hype treatment. Hope it's justified.

Hey if the comic book can beat you up and steal your lunch money can I have some money, too?
-
Chapter 350 just dropped, and it's a little bit better.
If I'm honest, I had lost interest in this series a long time ago. None of the villains, character development or plot were interesting to me. But somehow I've stuck with it.
! And today was kind of refreshing seeing a rather underwhelming characters (Dabi) backstory make them become semi interesting. But yeah, a lot of the backstory vibes feel familiar, but it's still good (in an angsty teen kinda way)
-
It honestly cremated all the good faith that I had in Hori's writing.
! Glad gorilla-san called it bullshit too.

! it's better if you imagine him breaking the fourth wall.
! Gorilla: is this another one of those boring "afo had it all" stories. -
Vigilante Talk
! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Victory, but at what price?!
-
! No no no, let our boi have his happy ending

~Vig Talk~
I like No. 6 defying "AFO" at the end. Funny how he spent so much energy trying to kill Koichi and in his final act, marked him just so he'd always remember him. Glad Pop and KD didn't die or stay dead. Some people have said their vigilante selves died in some sort of symbolic way. I like that. All three main characters are no longer vigilantes. They're gonna move on and do other things.
Better prepare myself for a time skip. Wouldn't be surprised if we catch up with the cast one year later. Hopefully, with Koichi in America, away from AFO.

It was I the secret protag all along

Whose photo is behind Touya’s on the Todoroki family butsudan? The sun shines brightly behind him… is that Enji’s father? If so, could that be who Enji has truly chased this whole time?
-
Not exactly excited to learn AFO saved Dabi. Just about anything else would've been more interesting. Wish we'd gotten more on who that Sunflower Guy was and more info on the backup kids.
And how exactly did Dabi break into his home without anyone noticing him? They don't have security? Cameras? -
"I should be long dead but the fire of my hate is keeping me alive"
Dabi is such an edgelord.
-
Dabi is an edgelord done in the most boring way possible. The story should have had fun with him and made him a goofball. That would have gone well with his history of failures instead of just playing him straight and making him look like an obsessed loser.
-
The art was fabulous this chapter.

I think we should all be glad digital versions of this series exist and not just print if only for the damage this much edge would have inflicted on our fingers.
-

I disagree with this. A large portion of the LoV is fairly zany and it makes sense to have someone played completely straight. That dangerous and obsessive intensity contrasts well against the rest of the colorful personalities. Plus, his serious demeanor giving way to full insanity once he gets going creates a good dichotomy too.
I don't especially like Dabi but he's an effective enough character and plenty of fans seem to like him.
-
Man, even Sasuke wasn't this bad. This truly is the successor to Naruto. Or a budget version of it at least. I mean, at least I gave a shit about Madara and Kabuto. LoV somehow managed to be boring and predictable despite having an entire arc written for them.
Everyone saw this flashback and justification coming a mile away. -
Gotta agree with Jabberwok, Dabi isn't exactly my favourite but he works well enough. I appreciate that he functions as a reminder of Endeavours abuse, that it can't just be swept under the rug.
-
Dunno, for me everything about Dabi makes sense, he went back home after three years just to see how your "death" didn´t change anything, hell, he even wanted to apoligize to his mom and the rest before that. Perhaps it is because I have seen really, really edgy series, but I don´t find Dabi specially edgy.
I didn´t like AFO having a part to play on this, but at the very least he simply saved his life and then failed to turn him into a pawn because Endeavor already messed his son up, wich is kind of funny when you think about it. Also, I have seen some people compare the hospital where Dabi was with the one that appeared during Overhaul´s flashback, so maybe he also was one of AFO´s spares.
-
I am just glad its over in a few months
-
Predictable development, but not as bad as people here seems to be taking (imo, obvs).
I'm not bored of MHA yet, I just feel bad for the huge missed oportunities that pop every arc. Hori could really use some more time to think things though, really
-
Love the art here, it's very gorgeous. I enjoy seeing Dabi's melodrama play out. It's not quite as delicious as the Sasuke stuff but it's melodramatic enough in writing and art/acting that it is entertaining.
-
I am close to ok with this, annoying That it was AFO all along, glad that Dabi was so screwed up already by endeavor that it didn’t take, and it was just “you are barely alive now”
-
AFO: Who sets up every villains strength, who pulls out random plot threads…..I do...I dooooo~

AFO: Who sets up every villains strength, who pulls out random plot threads…..I do...I dooooo~
That… doesn't match the cadence of rhythm of the song at all! 8 syllable lines! And it needs rhymes!
_Who sets up every villain's shots,
Who pulls the thread of random plots?Who has the skills both broke and cheap,
Who is the greatest of the creeps?Who was the baddie all along,
Who was the one that wrote this song?_ -

Plus I think we just established what we already knew…
...Smudge has no rhythm. Continues to dance out of sync in the third person

Just going with the flow.

! That reunion felt so rewarding, it was about damn time
! Also, I'm guessing that Koichi will move to the US as Captain Celebrity's official sidekick to escape All for One's clutches -
Koichi moving to America solves all his problems. He can continue helping people, have a job, and (unknowingly) escape AFO. Everything's set for Captain Celebrity and The Crawler to show up in the main series, if that's the ultimate plan. Big props to Makoto and C.C. True friends right there.
EDIT:
My Hero Vigilantes vol. 14 cover (mirrors MHA vol. 5 cover) -
CC and the Crawler, on the top ranking of America charts. I can see it. And damn Makoto is the one to own CC. Literally. But can we get the confession already.
-
I dont think we are going to deal with american heroes anymore after Stripes died. A big point was that after it happen everyone decided it was too dangerous to send help and be vulnerable as a result.
-
When you read a new chapter title and it's about flames again, ugh…
-

If it does happen, it'll only be a few overseas heroes willing to risk their careers. That said, because of their connection to Japan, I don't see Captain Celebrity or The Crawler sitting this out unless they have no way of getting to Japan in time.
-
As much as I would love them to, I just don't see them or anyone new appearing in the main story at this point. Maybe a cameo in one of the final chapters as the world reacts to AFO's defeat but that's it.
Now, a main role in a My Hero Academia movie, that I can see. I know we've had two movies already where the case interact with heroes from abroad but a movie where they have to work with Captain Celebrity and The Crawler would work quite well.
I want to see a Vigilantes anime before then though.
-
Yeah, it's a long shot, but since Star And Stripe came outta nowhere I'm not giving up hope.
Agreed. I'd be nice if a MHV anime was announced. That'd really get the ball rolling for a MHA/MHV movie.
-
Don't dirty the greatness of Vigilante with the stink of the main series. Leave the GOAT hero Koichi alone !
-
New MHA is out.
Definitely one of those chapters that'll look great animated.
Don't dirty the greatness of Vigilante with the stink of the main series. Leave the GOAT hero Koichi alone !
Koichi arriving to help Endeavor take down AFO works too well. As O'Clock's successor, he'll help take down the one responsible for stealing his master's quirk. Besides, Koichi wouldn't be Koichi if he stood by and let his home country fall apart.
-
Horikoshi has always been good with expressions and close ups, but dang Dabi looks great. The flaming skeleton look is always a great look. I also appreciate that I can totally track how Dabis history has formed his mindset (not always a given with villains), and the continued acknowledgement that Endeavor was an unforgivably terrible parent (seriously, its so refreshing that the story isn't making excuses for him, doesn't reatroactively try and go "he weren't so bad..")
-
Unless Koichi popped Pop and is now living the happy married life and retired.
-
Once again the art this chapter is fabulous.
-
Viligantes last chapter on the 27th.
Now vigilante talk:! Skycrawler baby.
Nomura was the beginning of the Nomu project as called. -
1 last chapter of the greatest superhero of the MHA universe. I'll miss him.
