Well that was what I thought to. But when I used the Kaioken I still wasn´t able to do so or does that not the Kaioken mode make? I´m not kidding. I seriously don´t know how else I´m supposed to get to Kaioken mode. <_<
Dbz: Sparking
-
-
If you're glowing red you're in Kaioken mode and should be able to do the move.
-
Thanks Cap´n Carter. It appears that I didn´t do the Kaioken properly and accidentally always did the sun attack (german name). What a shame that I didn´t notice that mistake myself. As if that move resemless the Kaioken. Oh the shame.
Thanks sensei!
-
And you guys must be truly good if none of you had problems with the monkey Vegeta in the Saiyan-saga. :adore:
Rest assurred, I am still having the hardest time beating that one. I just can't get away from him, it's kinda frustrating. Anyone have some good strategies for this battle?

God to know that I´m not the only one here. I can´t surpass this dude. I easily got 100% in the Freezer saga but Monkey Vegeta literally rapes Goku´s ass everytime. And I just found out that Brolly isn´t any better. These big guys are pretty tough.

i got tenkaichi yesterday and let me tell you that its a HUGE dissapointment
first of all they have these stupid fucked up missons were the enemy never losses HP but you do and you have to try not to get killed in 60 second (which are very slow seconds)
and in the PAL and NTSC versions we get this stpid dubed over music
okay the japanese voices are there but when that become normal for you you will see the games major flaws
and now there is talk that the game delets its own save file!
spike really fucked things up why couldnt dimps continue making budokai, sil probleygive tenkaichi some more chances over the week but when american wasteland and makai kingdom come over to this crappy country(the uk) on october 28th i think i wont be playin tenkaichi that much
oh and dont listen to thouse twats who say "oh you just find it to hard" this game is not hard but it is cheap
cheap ness always wins
there is no skill in this game
to thouse who have not brought is say dont
if your in america wait for soul calbier 3 (out next week over there)
if your any where else(europe)wait 3 weeks for the better fighting game -
I'm glad Spike made this game, because the Budokai series was pretty lame. I love this game; the fights feel like the show.
To beat Ape Vegeta, I just blast him with a Kamehameha, charged up, and when he flew at me again I did another Kamehameha. Rinse and repeat. If that doesn't work, try my other Survival strategy; Dragon Dash like mad.
I completed Z-Gate Mode last night, and now I'm working on ranking mode. Has anyone else tried this yet? "RANKU UPPO!" "ZETTO ITEMO GETTO!"

Whey. I've been playing only a day and a half and I've practically completed it. Only three more characters to go.
The COM can be kinda cheap sometimes, with move spamming and I do get the impression that they could've spent a bit more time on this game… but it kicks damn ass all over the shop. -
@Cap'n:

I tried that countless times but he´s too damn fast. Before I charge up for a second Kamehameha he´s already back on his feet, flies towards me and takes me down. He´s incredibly strong it isn´t even funny anymore. Brolly and Bojack were at least some funny because I could see that there is progress with the proper strategy but Ape Vegeta just is so superior that no strategy works here. He´s too fast and strong and he doesn´t waste time on charging up himself. =(
-
That fight is really annoying. I must admit, I put the difficulty down a level for that one to help.
A fair amount of luck enters into it. As soon as the fight starts, fire a Kamehameha. Sometimes he'll instantly attack. In the event of that just try and survive but chances are you won't. If you are lucky your first Kamehameha will connect. Hit him with a second as he rises and then hightail away. Familiarity with the arena helps since you'll want to stay locked on. Don't mess about with Kaioken, use those power balls for Solar Flare if he gets real close. BUT! Although you should keep your distance to avoid his attacks do not get too far. If you do there is a high chance that he will use his rock throw move which is really hard to dodge and will practically kill you. If he begins powering up his sparking bar, let him. His ultimate is too easy to dodge. -
Also, don't be afraid to block. His physicals have huge range and are powerful but they're slow as hell. If you can find an opening you should be able to escape.
When you run away, try to go upward. Somehow that worked well for me. And like Choppermon said, it's also a luck factor. I was lucky and managed to beat Ape Vegeta on my first try, but I got kicked around like a ragdoll by Third Form Freeza and Bojack. And Kid Boo… my god, that's a nightmare.
-
Got the game last night.
Currently fighting Kid Boo after 6 hours of non-stop gaming.
GOD,he is HARD. -
The hardest battle was prolly that Vegeta VS Kid Buu one. I had to redo that about 8 times….which add in the loading and that's FOREVER!!!!
What NUMBSKULL didn't include a 'retry' option. That's jut plain stupidity.
-
Vegeta vs. Kid Buu was definitely the worst. Kid Gohan vs Freeza III was a pain too.
I really like the Bios, because they tell a bunch of stuff I never even knew. In addition to the little Tenshinhan fiasco, apparently Nappa is over 50 years old and was always Prince Vegeta's attendant. Wow!
I'm still going on in ranking mode (with my custom Tao Pai Pai). I'm ranked at… 50-something.
-
Nappa is over 50 years old and was always Prince Vegeta's attendant.
Well, if you've seen the Bardock TV Special they actually show that.
-
I saw but didn't pay a lot of attention to it..
-
Played the US one at Gamecrazy yesterday. Fun shit is all I can say! I love how the characters are battle-worn in the end of battles.
I can't wait til' my copy of Sparking comes in the mail this week.
-
Spike's attention to detail is awesome. I tihnk SSJ2 Gohan's arm is limp in his battle-worn state.
Though my favorite is Roshi, with his glasses gone and everything.
-
Yeah, despite what people are picking up on I think this is really good.
Although the bios are a little inaccurate… Tien isn't descended from aliens and Trunks did not get his sword from Tapion. But meh...
I like how some characters, like Bojack and Brolly, don't flinch when hit. -
argh i really want this game. also too bad there isnt a japanese music option on the us version..well always next year i supose ^____^
-
Although the bios are a little inaccurate… Tien isn't descended from aliens and Trunks did not get his sword from Tapion.
Tenshinhan is, if you read some of Omae's post, and GT Trunks got his sword from Tapion it seems.
Haven't played this yet, but I beat DBZ Legends the other day…
-
trunks got his sword from tapion. thats what i know
-
Hey question. How do you go about unlocking characters? I heard its got to do with item fusion or something. I'm getting the JP version pretty soon and I'm wondering if you desperately need to read the names of these items or if it would simply be a question of trial and error?
-
Yeah, you have to fuse items with names of characters or specific famous scenes/scenarios. They're all pretty much straight forward cept for a few which will make hard-core fans go "Aaaah I see"
Haven't played this yet, but I beat DBZ Legends the other day…
Sparking is AMAZING! But Legends still recreates the insanity best. I know it's not a straight-forward fighting game but it is a game that is truly timeless. Maybe PS3 will be able to crank out something on Sparking's graphic level with Legend's insanity…..
AND LESS LOAD TIME
-
Speaking of load times. I started playing this last night & was just wondering, what is the average load time to load up a simple 'vs.' match between say, Goku & Vegeta?!
There's just something that's bothering me. <_<
-
I don't think the load times are that bad.
Some characters you get automatically from the Z-Gate Mode, or you fuse special items (won through Z-Gate) together. Though I have an "absorption" item left I have no what to do with.
-
This game came out on my birthday, I got 35 bucks for my birthday, now in a few weeks my brother will get me 15 more and Im going to buy it. I watched over 10 mins of demos on a gaming site and it looks so freakin sweet, being able to fight in water, endless fighting area and when you get hurt your clothes actually rip and you get cuts too sweet but after hearing about the load times and one button fighting it got me worried, but hell I got the first 3 might aswell get 4.
-
I don't think the load times are that bad.
Hmmmmm, your statement intrigues me.
Does the JP version suffer more? How many ghosts does Gotenks usually spit out for you? On an average he does 22 for me.
-
I almost cried when I was able to do poses with Great Saiyaman. I think my favorite battle damaged character is Vegeta Scouter. His arm…my god.
I'm a little pissed off that I didn't realize sooner that you could get the same Dragonball over and over again. I'd been busting my ass trying to get the Broly one. For all of you that haven't played it yet or haven't started collecting the Dragonballs:
You can get the same Dragonball over and over again!
I really wish that I realized that sooner. Anyway I think that I am very nearly done with Sparking. I just have a few more characters to unlock and a couple more wishes to make. Overall Dragonball Z: Sparking is one excellent game.
-
Well, I'm going from the manga here and Tien got his third eye through meditation. He's 100% human.
And GT Trunks uses Tapion's sword but Future Trunks' sword is just a normal sword. -
@omae:

22?! Yikes, the most I ever got was 5.
I kinda wish instead of flying, Tao Pai Pai would chop down a tree, throw it, and ride it around like he did in the manga. That would've ruled.
-
I'm counting 24 ghosts & 1:15 to load up fights. Going in between menus is usually around 2 ghosts & about 5 seconds.
Nearly cleared the Saiyan Saga in Z-Gate, but the load times are becoming way too frustrating. But besides that, it's pretty good game.
-
Woah…22?
The longest ever load for me was only 4!
Yeah, and I'd go with Tao Pai Pai's tree riding.
Currently refighting Broly to get a 2nd orb to get his character. -
So, does Kame-Sennin fly too? Damn, It'd be nice if he had that flying turtle…
The Game sounds interesting though. Does it play anything like the Zone of the Enders games? Cause it sounds a little like it.
-
Kame-Sennin, Kid Goku, Tao Pai Pai can fly, which some people have criticized, but I think it's kind of cool. Yeah, it'd be sweet if Tao had his column and Roshi had Baby Gamera, but that would make them really annoying to use in mid-air combat. The game is focusing on the fighting, aestetics (which are still WONDERFUL) are second. Things like the tree and kinto'un would only slow down the combat.
I look at it this way: the game is more or less a "what if" kind of thing. Tao Pai Pai is from the crane school of martial arts, and his brother is the Tsuru-Sennin, so why wouldn't he be able to fly? Maybe he did the tree thing just because he could and it looked cool as hell. And Muten Roshi is a very powerful martial artist (in DB), and was on the same scale (if not better) than Chaozu and Tenshinhan (who both can fly), so he definitely could learn bukujutsu if he wanted to.
For the record, Tao Pai Pai and Kamesennin are my two favorite characters to use. I dunno who's third… either Fat Buu, Ginyu, or Burter. Saiyaman's really fun, too.
@omae:

HOLY CRAP!!!! I usually only get like… 4 or 5 at the most! Did you pirate it? That might explain it..
You can get the same Dragonball over and over again!
Yep! The best stage to use, imo, is Tenshinhan vs. Chaozu at Kami's Lookout. It's always in the palace, just use a Dodonpa or Kikoho to destroy it. This match in particular mainly because Chaozu always runs away so he doesn't put up a huge offense that'll get in your way of collecting the ball. It can be annoying toi chase him down, though. I still need to get Ape Vegeta.
AND I FUCKING HATE BROLLY. I can't get past him in Ranking Mode… damn it!
-
I get my Dragonballs from the tower too, but I get it in the level where you fight as Gotenks Super Saiyajin 3. All you have to do is the Buu Buu Volley Ball and you smash the tower every time. The only thing you have to worry about is accidentally killing him before you collect the Dragonball.
-
My loading time is near instant. Loading for a fight is about 5 secs.
-
Well, I'm going from the manga here and Tien got his third eye through meditation. He's 100% human.
Telling me how DB is supposed to be is like attempting to tell Babe Ruth how to hit homeruns.
The notion that Tenshinhan attained his third eye through meditation has never once come out in the manga.
That information came from fans as related to the origin of his design. That is where the accuracy in that conjecture ends. Often enlightened beings, and the occassional demon, have a third eye. This type of explanation never once was suggested in the manga.
Now, as far as the manga saying he's 100% human, that was also never fully stated. He has been listed as 'human-type' in the Daiz, but never specifically an 'Earthling'.
Furthermore, in Daiz 7, a guide which is praised by Toriyama and even bears his name/endorsement, Tenshinhan is listed as an alien. If you would like me to scan the image for you it would be my pleasure.
HOLY CRAP!!!! I usually only get like… 4 or 5 at the most! Did you pirate it? That might explain it..
Well see that's why I'm asking. I downloaded the JP version and although I've downloaded a TON of games, I've never had this issue before. That's why I'm wondering if something is up with the JP release.
-
sry for going off topic but is the spelling for yamacha yamucha or yamacha. cuz when i was watching subtitles it was yamucha tho when i read it its yamacha. im confused. ???
-
I always called him Yamcha.
-
It's technically Yamucha. But Vegeta is also technically Beji-ta so I would heartily suggest you name 'em as you like 'em.
-
ok cool. yeah i ment yamcha my spelling sucks. not yamacha. lol
-
Blagh….spent about 4 hours yesterday playing ranking.
Currently at 30th place. -
Ok thats it Im not gonna buy this game I guess, I might but I might not. If I don't find it i'll save up for Kingdom Hearts 2, but most likely if I find it i'll buy it.
-
YES!
Finally completed the game!
Damn that Vegeta survival match against Kid Boo was hard!
Survived my dashing away as soon as he came near. -
When he dashed for me, I'd just start a combo and he'd get sucked into it. Then I kicked him away, and Dragon Dashed away.
-

I downloaded the Japanese release as well, and I haven't had a problem with load times at all. It could be the method you are using to boot the games.
I love your screen name by the way.
-
I just use the Swap Magic thing. Just a fluke I suppose.
-
The top 30 are so in Ranking mode are NEAR DAMN IMPOSSIBLE to beat. Goddamn.
I managed to struggle up to 21st…
