Im gonna save my money till March and buy KH2 seeing how it will be longer and most likely better, I might get this sometime in the future tho.
Dbz: Sparking

-
WOOOO~!
Reached 20th place!
Sunnavabitch,was it hard! -
Got Sparking in the mail yesterday (courtesy of EGX).
Holy hell, I love it. Managed to unlock a few potara characters (Great Saiyaman, Cooler, Majin Vegita, Vegita Scouter), finished Freeza saga 100% as well. What got me REALLY REALLY excited was the BGM. We Gotta Power is even the opening theme song (Though it should've been CHA-LA HEAD CHA-LA due to the game's title).
Load times aren't a problem for me however.(burned copy, 5 ghosts).
Question: How the shit do you clear Yamcha vs Saibaman? I did everything, even whupped him with a Soukidan.
-

Yeeeeah, I'm gonna have to do something about that. I can watch a full set of commercials between loading.

That one might be one of those "Survive Until Time Runs Out!" battles…..maybe.

You've gotta defeat it with the Kamehameha, it even says before the match.

@Battle:

Thanks. Well that would've been straight foward if I knew japanese… ( I got the import)
-
Hah, sorry! I didn't realize.
-

Could you tell me where you got that from?
I just don't want to buy the game and find out it's a clunker. I made that mistake with SNK Vs. Capcom….
-
If you're supposed to use a blast 2 move, it should say "2" somewhere in there..
-

Sorry, EGX downloaded it and burned it for me. I'm sure there's a torrent somewhere - just google.
If you're a DB fan, I assure you this game is no clunker.
-
OK I got it I played it and finished everything….. Now I want to play the ranking mode.
Things that sucks in the game:
1. When you fly and a wall is in front of you he doesnâ€t go above it or below it he just gets stuck
2. when people do the rush move I do my move kamehameha and they manage to go under it! WTF
3 and most important. in the fucking survival mode I killed the guy and they said I lost I have to repeat it. WTF!!!!!
4. Camera sucks.
Good things everything elseGreat tip for survival mode works always but doesnâ€t work on vegeta ozaru.
Block, wait for him to come attack you. after he finishes his attack press square 3-4 times again and again and again until time runs out XD . what I mean is donâ€t hit the last punch, stop and repeat what I wrote until the time finishes -
I'd advise against pure blocking, as the CPU usually catches on and uses that goddamn guard breaker thing.
-
thats why I said 3-4 if you use 2 he will block it, 4 never. i beat kid buu with vegeta this way and my blood was 8.5/10 full try it it will work…. oh and dont let him rest
-
HOLY CRAP.
Okay so I just unlocked Tao Pai Pai and Muten Roshi (who both kick ass, by the way) and I did a little match between the two and BAM!! Original DB music BGM (in the style of Makafushigi Adventure).
This game is so freaking great. I wish there were more DB characters. Seeting Tao Pai Pai doing this rush attack is just so different from the rest.
-
I think you get Makafushigi adventure if you do any DB characters against each other (I saw a Kid Goku vs. Roshi video with the music). Too bad Atari has to be so damn cheap with the music…
Yeah, Tao Pai Pai's rushes are pretty awesome. Especially his ultimate... :D He's probably my favorite character to use too.
Muten Roshi is awesome too, but I thought his moveset was a bit disappointing. Two Kamehamehas and a generic rush. I don't mind rush moves, but except for a few special ones, they're mostly identical. Oh well. I was just expecting him to bust out some Jackie Chun shit. Hopefully Spike will include a Jackie Chun in the next game...
But Kid Goku has Janken Punch! That was awesome.
My favorite characters to use:
- Tao Pai Pai
- Muten Roshi
- Fat Boo
- Captain Ginyu
- Burter
- Kid Goku
- Mr. Satan
Guilty Pleasures (character I don't like but are fun to use):
Freeza Form 4
Super 17 -
my characters:
Super Trunks Super saiyan(when he fought cell)
Brolly
Majin Vegeta
Vegeta ssj4
Gogeta SSj4
and burter is damn fast… against SS trunks hes nothing -
Tsk, this game goes back to the shelf. I easily managed to work myself through all the so called hard opponents but still couldn´t manage to defeat Ape Vegeta. Nothing I try works. The controls ever screw up from time to time. And it´s not as if I don´t know how they work, in all the other battles I could dodge attacks but against Ape Vegeta it rarely works. Same with the flying crap. Never had any problems with it in any other fight but against this opponent it sometimes won´t work. And since I´m not able to make 100% in the Saiyan Saga, 4 Gates remain closed. Well it was a fun game except for this opponent. =(
-
try this:
elevate to the top then dragon dash away and charge.
when he comes give him a kamehameha and go back with x and charge
then repeat everything again. Dont try to teleport if hes gonna hit you guard -
Tried it already. Doesn´t work. For some friggin´ reason I have problems to elevate to the top while it always works in every other stage. As soon as the round starts I blast a Kamehameha at him and try to elevate but it doesn´t work so well as in other stages. And it just worked once in that stage and I was so surprised myself that I completely lost focus of the fight.
-
what do you press when you elevate
-
R1 as always. But that doesn´t matter anymore, because I just defeated that ape!!! You heard right, after countless tries I finally succeeded. And guess why it happened? It hasn´t anything to do with skill. It was complete luck. In this fight the opponent didn´t do anything beyond powering up. This gave me the opportunity to shot lots of Kamehameha at him and even to overcome my elevation problem. Then from the top point I was constantly waiting for an uppowered Ape to come towards me so that I can send him back with Kamehameha´s.
Tsk, if he wouldn´t have given me that much time I would still be trying to beat him in a real fight. Well I guess I should be grateful that I won via such a cheap way.
But anyways, the two other stages afterwards were sure fun. You can´t imagine how much I enjoyed rapes Ape Vegeta while I had an Ape myself. Not to mention the final match where the tides are turned and I had an Ape and he was a mere saiyan. ZEHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
-
great to hear that you beat him
you see if you press L2+R1 he elevates with the dragon dash so that would have been better XD
I will tel you guys one thing dont ever play with Super Sayian Super Trunks then suddenly change to a different character casue its gonna be mixed up (since when someone hits you you dont feel anything) ^_^ -
Dragon Dash Elevation? Sounds good, thanks for the info.
Well just one gate is missing and I guess I have to get all the seven DragonBalls for it. Well I´ve got three so far (from Namek, Kami´s Palace, and the Raddiz stage). That last one from the Saiyan Saga is so hard to find. I found it once and got it but since I didn´t finished Vegeta off with the Kamehameha as I should the DragonBall wasn´t saved. And I have trouble to find it again.Other then that three more DB´s remain to be found.
-
you can find dragon balls in the same place, Yes its true . and i recomand tien vs chaoutzo in kami's look out destruy the house and its there oh and the difficulty doesnt matter.
-
Really? I thought that it each place has constantly the same DragonBall. Hmm, gotta check that one out.
Edit: You´re right! It really works like that. How cheap, but hey at least it´s not that a big deal to constantly collect all of the DragonBall´s. Thanks for the info.
-
Did anyone beat a guy in survive mode? I did and you know what they said i lost and i had to replay the mission?!? HOW STUPID :argh: >=(
-
Yeah, I feel your pain. I spent forever on Vegita vs. Kid Buu. I kept up a strategy where I'd pummel him and use Galick Cannon. However, it worked too well and I killed the fucker. Didn't clear. Boy, was I sore.
-
You must be good:adore: . the match i won was kid trunks vs vegeta. after that i developed a new method…... To block, then attack with punches but i wont hit the last punch (press square 3-4 times) and repeat this until the time runs out:steve:
-
Wow, good thing I didn't kill Radditz like I almost did..
I used the Genki Dama on him and it did crazy damage.
-
What about the ULTIMATE BATTLE. did anyone reach rank1 and what was the highest points you got in one batte. I got 5 for under 1 minute, super finishing move, completing the level and near death ko….(majin vegeta  ) and if you win with perfect you get 2 points but its seems impossible to do all that(without the near death ko) hence getting 6 points. oh and my rank right now is 50(dont want to finish the game 100% quickly )
-
I'm at like Rank 15. When you start to get to 30, they get hard as hell…
-
For Vegeta fighting Buu, try this. Just stay on his friggin ass. That's how I did it. I started by firing some simple ki balls, then ran up to him and beat him down, ki balls, beat him down, ki balls, beat him down. I was able to do that for over a minute then kind of winged it for the remainder. It worked incredibly well and only becaue Vegeta has a decent speed. Try that with Fat Buu and you're gone. But seriously, give it a shot if you ever try it again.
-
I just got done downloading this.
After I finish this damn paper, I'll give it a go.
-
The load times drove me over the edge around the Android saga.
Binned my 'copy' this morning. Will seek out legitimate version at a later date. :ninja:

Yeah, when I beat him I basically just let him have it. Fat Buu's survival one was equally difficult, albeit different strategy. Doubt I'll try it again, but ya never know!

What difficulty do you play with??? I reached rank 15 with ease, well not ease but didnt lose once but ssj4 vegeta gave me a hard time, oh and believe it or not yamacha at rank 15 was the strongest so far
-
The top guys are all alot harder, but still aren't anything I can't manage. I just wish you got something really great for finishing the Ultimate Battle mode. I might end up going through the Ultimate Battle mode again with child Son Gokuu just for the hell of it.
-
As I type this, I'm about to play the Yamucha VS Saibaman battle (again).
First, the music. THE ACTUAL SERIES MUSIC. I was overjoyed to hear the recap version of Cha La Head Cha La in the first little movie, and on the menu.
Second: The game plays like a dream. The controls are a bit similar to Legends, and that is just fine. I was pretty suprised at the level size too, once I send Raditz flying across it. I only played the "Field" stage and Kami-sama's palace, but they are great.
Third: Holy shit are there a lot of characters.
I will proudly purchase this if it means there will be more like it.
-
First off I use Tao Pai Pai, who obviously isn't as strong as whatever characters you might use. And I use normal mode, I refuse to change difficulty.
Second, I got to #1, so I'm the champ.
My problem before was i relied too much on long range fighting and ki beam attacks, once I closed down and used physicals I kicked ass.

This post is deleted!

Did anybody try to face rank1 with hard as the difficulty. Its damn hard!!!!
and Cap'n reaching rank1 with Tao Pai Pai is amazing -
Well, about a month late, I got the game on Thursday. It's definitely the best recreation of DBZ I've played (haven't played Legends). But….as a fighting game....it's not that good. It's kinda like you're fighting the CPU and the camera in a two on one. And the hand-to-hand is messy.
But it's kinda challenging, and fun anyway. I beat Z Battle Gate last night and got up to 80 in the ranking, if that says anything. Brolli was a bitch, and surviving #19 as Goku was pretty tough, too.
-
I agree that it misses the mark as a "traditional" fighter, but I thought it was a shitload of fun nontheless. The fights felt just like they did in the show, to me.
I haven't played in a while, but lately I've had urges to..
-
I rented it and personally, I was very disappointed, they made the fighting far too complicated and some fights are just down right impossible, OH! and I keep failing misablely at Kid Buu vs. SSJ3 Goku.
-
Really? I thought the difficulty was just right. But I was frustrated as hell with the style. I don't like that "run around and blast" stuff. The warping is difficult and doesn't offer offense, and the dodging is completely gone, so up close, all you do is jam the square button and maybe wiggle the analog stick.
The cheapness may turn a lot of people off, but I don't mind it anymore. It's just funny that I beat everyone on Namek with one try but got stuck for an hour on that little bastard Chiaotzu with his run and shoot crap. It's disappointing when you have to survive in a fighting game, instead of actually fighting.
