Is he though? I mean, all the action is out at sea, it's not like the people on Cacao Island really pose a threat anymore, especially with Germa, so the "last stand" is now Smoothie, Daifuku, and the rest of the fleet.

I only noticed that worried-looking sitting spoon on my second read and it caused me to burst out laughing for some reason.
I have a few issues with this chapter but some of the comedic elements like Luffy´s purity, the Spoon, rubmaster Daifuku and the Smoothie running gag made it enjoyable for me.
Next chapter BM eats the cake.
It will be so delicious that she faints and there will be a grandiose Totland-wide soul firework, all of which will return to their original owners.
Peros will be there to witness it firsthand. Now there´s a possibility they will think that she died at first, maybe misinforming the country after seeing her knocked out.
Her face won´t be shown, or only partially (a stealthy huge grin). That might even be the cliffhanger.

Why did Luffy think Judge was praising Sanji? Is it because he's too exhausted so he couldnot understand what he meant or there was any pun on Judge's words?
Because that is textbook Luffy. Do you remember back in Arlong Park the marine guy threatened him and Luffy said how does he know he will be the Pirate King?

Holy Plot Twist no Jutsu! I love it! For a moment there, I thought Luffy was about to launch into some long-winded reading of Sanji's resume and something something nakama. But he went way Luffier than that!
I'm glad the story took a moment to have the BMP at least know that their fates are now essentially in Sanji's hands. Though I won't be satisfied unless Judge sees that Sanji has done something he could never hope to: Besting Big Mom.
Also, how in the holy hfil are the Firetanks gonna get out of Totland if their ship is really destroyed?! I'm thinking mistranslation, and Bege was actually referring to how badly damaged it is.
EDIT: NVMD. Ship is on its side and engulfed in flames. They are stuck like Chuck :-(

Good thing that Mont d'Or reaction upon finding out everything is crumbling was immediately ask for an update on Linlin. I like that. Also it was interesting to see someone actually suffering from an untreated injury for once (plus this meant Perospero will be safely away from Linlin while she is eating).

I complained much as I could about Linlin inability to reach the Nostra Castello, but at least Oda didn't make them keep sailing away safely after leaving the cake behind. Not only Bege says the ship was destroied, you can see it completely wrecked and in flames.

As for the many islands: (1) Amande is safe! I was probably the only person in need of an update about her, but yeah. (2) I am pissed the SH didn't visited the Cutlery Island, that place sounds so ridiculous for all the right reasons.

I miss moments when Luffy is just being stupid. His awful acting skills and he totally failing to get Judge were gold.
Also, this chapter shows that those people saying the Vinsmoke are still seeing Sanji as trash were right. I remember some people being very prepotent criticizing those last week about not getting the boys were supposedly just teasing Sanji. -
The figurehead on Smoothie's ship is adorable and, just like Cutlery Town, I am pissed Oda didn't present them before.

And the fact that capone lost his ship si interesting. How will he get out of totland? Is this a hint that capone will stay nehind on totland and not leave? But then they are in big trouble. Could it be that he has another ship inside him that he can turn to normal size…

The fact no one is staying behind to see Linlin eat the cake is actually a good thing. There will be no citizen, no SH, no Firetank, no BMP, no Germa around to see it happening (and Stussy/Morgan can't get there in time), but there is no way the big even of the arc will be just Linlin eating the cake and passing out without anyone noticing. She eating the cake will most likely have a huge repercussion so everyone in TL will become aware of it.

I love how Luffy and Judge can look at the same qualities in a person and see them so differently. I really want to be in Luffy-wagon in my interactions with people. So inspirational even though I read this manga for entertainment. The way I read this interaction was:
Judge: "Sanji is Germa's failure"
Luffy: Sanji managed to keep his human side in that harsh environment that tried to kill that side of him.
Judge: "He can't use his skin as a shield."
Luffy: He is not a disposable shield but an actual friend.
Judge: "All he does is cook."
Luffy: He makes the best food I've ever had.
Judge: "He doesn't have a shred of royal pride."
Luffy: Despite being born into a royal family he treats people based on their actions and sees others as equals.
Judge: "He's put his life in order to protect a weakling."
Luffy: He is not afraid to go into a dangerous situation in order to save someone who cannot survive from that harsh situation.
Judge: "He's unfit to be a soldier [a pawn to be sacrificed like Germa tend to do]."
Luffy: He is an important nakama to fight with and for.Absolutely beautiful interaction in my opinion. Luffy truly is The Captain.

As I have been reading the thread I was thinking perhaps his shipwright is inside building a temporary ship right now.
A couple possibilities:
- they somehow run into Gangster Gastino and make their escape thanks to whatever flying contraption his powers allowed him to create.
- or Chiffon has her own ship - or one she's free to use - anchored somewhere safe on Fluffy Island. She is the island's ruling minister after all.
- or they steal one from any harbour on the island. As someone pointed out it doesn't even need to be large, only needs to fit Capone and a couple sailors

good thing is, this intervention from the fishman pirates is more of enough of a reason to let the strawhats escape completely…fishman are basically ship kryptonite, they can sink them easy and you basically can't do anything about it because cannon balls are not that effective when you can't see them and all your strongest guys are devil fruit users that can't fight in the water..and even if you are not a fishman you get immediately at a disadvantage since they get stronger inside the water while you get weaker because of attrition.
also it makes sense for them to intervene because cacao island is on the border of totland,so they are both escaping and helping them at the same time.@Megaman:

i don't know what you watched for the remaining 898 episodes, but while sanji likes nami, he is not THAT sticky…he will try sometime to get a bit of physical contact, but all in all he is more than able to keep his composure with her around..they have been months on the same ship.

stussy might just be concerned about her well being.
mont d'or just said in this very chapter that they had no intention of letting those 2 guys left totland because they don't want the news to spread outside of the country.,..so if she stayed there she would have most probably be taken prisoner so that she could not spill the beans about the whole situation to the outside world.
