Well, that's the most anime-looking giant we've seen so far.

Man, just when I thought this chapter was gonna be uneventful exposition, shit really kicked into gear!
Although they remain rather weak characters, the Vinsmokes do at least make up for part of it with how ridiculously awesome they are in battle. Ichiji's pose was fucking metal and I'm glad we finally get some understanding of what "Winch Green" Yonji actually does.
Now, I'm strongly anticipating a heavy wave of fan complaints about Sanji not getting to kick anyone's butt (except Raisin's), but I would encourage you all to wait. Until the Straw Hats escape for real, this battle is still going on and anything is fair game. I personally do hope that Sanji has more action moments down the line, and right now Snack seems to be in the best position for that…but until next week...
Also, Road being a GWP member makes it likely that Goldberg will be too. I had thought Oimo and Kashi would be two of the members but that doesn't seem like it'll be the case.

Yeah chapter ended in a kind of ominous way where everyone is happy and Sanji/Luffy look like they'll make it to the ship annnd next chapter something bad is going to happen

The theme of this chapter doesn't suit well with me. I suppose that we, the audience, are supposed to cheer on the Vinsmokes since they're helping our heroes and all.
…..But they still include jackasses who treat their clone soldiers like garbage, one of them beat up a defenseless girl out of spite and they made some seriously suggestive comments about Nami "serving" them, among other things. I don't want to cheer these guys, Oda. They are just as bad as their enemies!

Honestly I love this chapter in the display of Germa's abilities. Ichiji can make lasers like pacifistas. And now i realize Sanjis siblings = Cyborg 009 characters.
I just HATE that this display of awesome came at the price of Sanji.

Pretty cool chapter, love seeing the Vinsmokes get back at the BMP to save face. Also looks like we got a couple more named brothers who were with Nusstorte. Guessing one of them is flame guy since he was there, dunno which the other is.
On a side note I didn't know anyone cared about Oimo and Kashi.

The story should now focus to escaping from BM's territory and the resolution of those remaining threads, i.e BM's hunger, Capone, and the Vinsmokes.

Well yeah, they are pretty powerful supersoldiers who can easily take on multiple average fighters at once. Katakuri did whoop Ichiji before and Oven is still up and about after getting penetrated so the stronger BMPs can probably give them good matchups.
One thing I didn't notice was how Sanji was also plowing his way through the BMPs in the beginning of the chapter. Nothing as flashy as what his siblings did but at least he didn't have to be assisted the entire way though.

I didn't expect much cause i thought it will be just an 'escape' chapter but man, that was glorious.
Love all the vinsmokes moves but the main highlight is brulee's revelation of katakuri's defeat. Rage, disbelief, denial all can be seen on the faces of the charlottes. Great stuff.

The way Nami questioned whether Germa66 are friends or foes bring up a certain idea in my mind, maybe they'll try to ruin the cake? The only problem with this is that Capone is heading to another island, but it's not far fetched for him to change his destination, is it? I mean, he already changed his destination, and Big Mom eating the cake should be imo a climactic event with at least more factions than just the Fire Tank pirates witnessing it. There are more stuff that should at least be addressed before the arc's end, like what happened to Pound or what will Nami do with Zeus.
I just HATE that this display of awesome came at the price of Sanji.
Yeah, it felt like: "hey Sanji, look how cool we are… and you are not."
I believe Sanji will still have some sort of more good showing, I know it sounds ridiculous considering his big screen time throughout the arc, but still, it would be nice to show the muscle heads that are the Germa that their brother that they mocked because he's weak not only saves the day by different means (the cake) but is also capable of fighting just as if not better than them. -
Sanji is getting his 1 vs 1 against Daifuku.
Oda kept a secret on how he catched up to Smoothie for a reason. It is likely he is able to fly thanks to his Devil Fruit power.

Sanji's only goal is to escape, that's it. He's not trying to fight anyone that's upper-tier, at the very least not until Luffy is safe and sound on the ship. It's really, really straightforward.

I think people are getting an inflated view of Germa's power. Reiju and Niji only took out fodder, and Ichiji and Yonji took out their opponents while they were busy trying to attack Luffy after they got enraged by what Brulée said. While their feats are still impressive, a straightforward 1v1 would be much less one-sided than a backstab.

17 pages. We get 17 pages every week, 19 if there's a colour spread. The last time there was a chapter that was actually shorter than usual was back in the Seducing Woods. But every week there's someone complaining about short chapters.

Germa chapter, it was nice and I really liked the moves.
There will be a break next week for sure, but I expected it before we reach the 900th chapter. -
That page, that single page… The entire BM family losing their shit at learning about the defeat of their strongest sibling, contrast with Luffy's peaceful sleeping face, makes this one of the greatest moments within both this arc and One Piece in its whole. If any of this gets out of their territory (and it will, courtesy of Morgans), the world is going to be shaken once more.

Even if he throws down with Daifuku, it won't be a dedicated battle like we have with Katakuri, nor should it be because at this point it would prolly rob the momentum plot-wise. Besides, it's hard to make a believable scenario of him fighting Daifuku alone when we have the rest of the crew onboard. If anyhting, we'll have a short skirmish and that's it. Here's hoping it'll be a short, awesome skirmish.
