Another amazing chapter. Good to see we're finally back on track. The only thing I don't get is why Angel is so obsessed with Fushiguro. Like I literally don't remember when this connection was established. Anyone kind enough to fill me in?

No idea, whats going on between Angel and Fushiguro. But according to the Wiki, Megumi rescued her once when she was a child.
Maybe he will do the same again, taking over from Sukuna, though who am I kidding JJK is a dark Shonen people die every other chapter.
But who is gonna save Yuji, could Yuta come to the rescue or someone else who knows reserve cursed technique who is willing to heal Yuji? -
In chapter 210, Hana as a child was abducted by a curse and was only saved because of Megumi's dog. It's a bit confusing but the girl there was Hana. I guess since otherwise she might have been the curse's meal or dead, she pretty much worship megumi even if the rescue was accidental.
I think unless Gege have something else planned for Hana as a character, she'll likely die. But since we need Angel to open up prison realm, I can see Hana transferring Angel over to a part of her body and sending that body part over to the comedian or whoever that is rushing over. I don't think both angel and hana will die since we do need a plot device to release Gojo.
-
Thanks for clearing that up guys. I really love this series but as I said several times there' some chapters that are a bit difficult to follow at least in manga form (might be different if it happens in the anime). The last two chapters were easier for me to get sense out of but that doesn't make things that happened in the more confusing chapters easier to understand.

Hmm, Could angel go to Yuuji?
Or is it not possible because he's a death painting? -
I thought about that as well.
Iām not sure which direction Gege is heading, but was there ever a series in SJ where the main character just died and never came back? We know that the prototype MC was Yuta, so maybe Gege changed his mind and abounded Yuji. -
@kevo_koma we still aren't certain that he is 100% one yet and is more than likely a hybrid of things as per Kenjaku's experimental nature. So there's a chance that angel might go to Yuji but even then there's the question of what Gege wants to do with him assuming he is going to be the one that opens the Prison Realm (then what's his role after that?)
JJK is very different from other shounen in the sense that we are the supposedly endgame and neither Yuji nor Megumi are anywhere near the levels of Sukuna and Gojo and even Yuta. But they have to have some purpose at the end, I'm just battering my head over what exactly is Yuji's role supposed to be here on out. Even if he does get a power upgrade (like conventional shounen), it's likely useless against Sukuna.
Narrative and thematic wise, since he was so affirmed that he was but a "cog" (which was the whole reason Sukuna took advantage of), he will have to move past that. Which means that he will have to develop a power that is individual to himself. Which brings me to the memory manipulation powers that he had which was foreshadowed. If Gege wants Kenjaku to be THE big bad, reigning supreme over Sukuna, then he likely have some counter measure against Sukuna besides a vessel which might be the special power of memory manipulation that Yuji has shown.
Or it could be unplanned and he really did organically developed that power, which he can use it to play a crucial role in the end game.
Assuming Nobara's powers is able to hit "the soul" of MegumiSukuna, she might be the key to save Megumi and actually defeat Sukuna without Megumi dying. Of course, I doubt Gege will write an ending where both Megumi and Yuji lives though. But Nobara's power does have a part of the jigsaw that she can fit into and seamlessly be incorporated back into the fights.
-
@The-Light-of-Shandora hot take but Yuuta is a bad MC, not terrible but in comparison with everyone else, I didn't find him all that endearing. Yuji works so much better for this series and I'm glad for the change.

Very interesting, you think that what happened with Todou and Choso both thinking they had an intimate relationship with Yuji is an ability?
I always assumed with Todou it was just a quirk of his nature. And with Choso it was confirmation that he was indeed a death painting.
As for Sukuna, I am assuming the Electricity/lightning ancient sorcerer will play a huge role in weakening him.
Yuuji might awaken, and show how the new school jujutsu sorcerers can surpass old school.
Plus we know he is a prodigy with Jujutsu already, I think it was mentioned he is one of the very incredibly few people who could use Black Flash consistently. Now that Sukuna isn't there to hamper his potential, he might awaken. It reminds me of Ichigo's Bankai, where the "enemy" soul was limiting Ichigo's potential.
-
@kevo_koma the thing with Choso was that he didn't just remember that Yuji was his brother but rather that it happened at the end of a fight with Yuji pushed to the limit, triggering something that led to Choso suddenly remembering. Yuji has no memory of them actually eating together (there's a chance of a brainwash/memory wipe) but I think what is more likely is a case of truth mixed with fiction with Choso. In that Yuji do have blood relation with him but some events never did happened between them but was rather "implanted".
I have to re-read the Todo part but it did come off as he was really convinced he knew him from somewhere. Add this to the fact that we don't really have much knowledge about Yuji's childhood (and he himself don't talk or flashback to it) except his grandfather, and there's really potential to do something here. Like giving him a power suited for endgame for example.
I agree, removing Sukuna from him opens up a world of possibilities to what Yuji himself as an individual can actually do, hence allowing for a thematic development away from the "cog in the wheel" mentality that he has.

Get him yuji!
Angel lucked out with just an arm. Blah. -
Well so Itadori is fine, cause he's built different due to his mum being Kenjaku?
Itadori seems to have grown a lot, I didn't realize how much though.
As expected Angel is out of the picture for the time being, I do wonder what will happen in the next chapters.
Sukuna mentions that Megumi is holding him back.
So will Itadori deal with Sukuna now, as Gege said the series is close to its end, I could see Sukuna being dealt with in the next few chapters. -
Sakuna ain't being dealt with now. That person in control of Megumi's sister might save him or Kenjaku's assistant might save him. I think thanks to Megumi Yuji is actually going to win this fight but Sakuna in Megumi's body will be taken away somehow. This defo feels like the end of the battle royale arc though
I'm curious what Sakuna realised about Denji though? Is it simply just that he's half spirit or whatever like his half-brother?
-
he mentioned that he's the "kid from that time" so there's a chance he met yuji in the past...which meant the heian period.
Interesting. -
The action is moving along with a good pace, I do wonder how Sukunas gamble will play out. He said he had high hopes for Megumi, was that only in regards to Sukuna taking over his body and cursed techniques. Or will we see Megumi putting up more of a fight. I want to see him and Sukuna having a talk like he and Itadori had.
-
I wonder how much the bath water would cost.
-
So...Sukuna needs to take a 10 month bath? Soak in the tub for at a least a couple minutes per day for that long or something?
I completely forgot that those two culling games characters Yuta battled were still alive. Biggest surprise of the chapter was seeing them again lololol.

No, that was Kenjaku explaining the original procedure of the "bath" for making the treasures into cursed tools.
A shame for Ryu man i liked him and his battle against Yuta.

Meh. Not a fan of Yorozu with the love schtick.
-
Not a fan of anything has been happening for weeks now. Reminds me of how The Seven Deadly Sins just started spiraling down the drain until the conclusion.
-
@PatTraverse why though? I thought the Sukuna appearance and the twist was pretty great and was much needed after the series of battles from not so important side characters.
-
I think my biggest problem with JJK and especially the culling games, is that I really don't care or remember most of these characters.
I mainly cared about the big bad, and our guys. On the other hand most of the other cast of characters are thousand year old people that I don't know. But apparently they have history with each other. But We know nothing about them or their characters.
I love the series for the absolutely inventive fights. This author is just that good, in a few more years, I feel he could surpass togashi. He just needs to work on character work.

Too much happening way too fast. Not letting the story breath. Feels like the author is burned out and trying to wrap things as quickly as possible to get out of it.

He did say that he intended to end the series this year, so there's that. There's also the fact that the culling game got a lot derivative so maybe the editor incentivised him to warp thing up on this thread.

I know about wanting to end the series this year but it's sad how it's happening. It's the complete opposite of how Bleach was taking it's sweet time to end while Jujutsu Kaisen feels like it's rushing to the finish line as quickly as possible.
The series was well-crafted with good characters and battles with emotional impact. Now, we get characters like Hana Kurusu/Angel that we should care about but are barely developed. No idea why i should be excited about Sukuna fighting Yorozu out of the blue and some lame banter about marriage.

How do I spoiler in this new fangled UI? I want to make fun of 3d shapes.

@maxterdexter You can click on the in the toolbar above the post editor for a quick insert. Afaik the limitation is spoilering a quote with a spoiler (basically nesting spoilers).
I was doing a minor rewatch the other day, made me remember what I really liked and also reminded me of why I haven't been as invested in the current manga arc... I liked a lot of certain characters.

Thanks, but I think the mobile one doesnāt show that eye, Iāll keep anā¦ eye.. out for it or if another mode helps.
Iāll hold anything deeper than ālol ballsā until Sunday

Gege can't write villains as well as Togashi despite the latter being a huge influence for the former.
-
-
Yorozu's got to be one of the worst characters in jjk. Their entire character falls completely flat and feels so ridiculously pointless. A good handful of chapters have been wasted dealing with this nonsense.
Also Sukuna's become 30% more boring since he's swapped bodies. :(I wanna go back to yuji and co. please.

GOJO FREE is a movement financed by NED

At least we're back to yuji and co.
Gojo being released is looming closer and closer.
Gege's zeroing in on the final battles w/ Sukuna and kenjaku. Hopefully cutting off any new participants means cutting down on any more unnecessary battles. -

And
-
This is the second time where a turning even happens and it's a confusing mess. Last time was when everyone reunited with Angel, with that flashback mixed in. Now it's unseal Gojo -> Kenjaku teleported him to the bottom of the ocean -> whatever, he's fine and already found Sukuna. What was the point?
-
Gege wants to finish the series and he's cutting corners. But shit not making sense because of Gojo, is pretty much series MO.
-
Gojo!!! That happened fast. I agree that gege's cutting corners to reach the finish line. Good to see him back though.
-
I'm a bit guilty for losing track of things once the culling game happened. After moping around since the Shibuya incident and rewatching season 1 recently, I'm happy to see Gojo finally come out and wreck. Love the last couple pages and the callback to Itadori's early convo with him.
Edit: Oh, I see that online people are losing their minds over Gojo saying "No." instead of "Nah, I'd win." and calling for firing the translator. LOL, such devastation.
-
What was the point of Itadori eating Sukuno body parts
-
Well, once he ate all of them he was supposed to be executed thus leading to the erasing the cursed objects from the world. Apparently no one was strong enough to destroy them, not sure if Gojo ever tried or not.
For the narrative, good question it all seems pointless atm. -
@One-Don-Requelme said in Jujutsu Kaisen:

If the last 5 fingers are around and are eaten by Megumi then the purpose is half serve. Give Sukana a physical body that can be killed and erase him from this world for good.
I dont think we need Yuji to definitely be the one having Sukana inside for it to have serve a purpose in the early parts.
if the 5 fingers are never recovered then it is pointless since Sukana's essence will still be around.
-
Yeah, I agree with desa there. They gambled on Yuji being a rare turn of events to hold Sukuna at bay, but it's not like Sukuna was going to wait for that to happen. He schemin' and already had eyes on Megumi since the beginning too.
