60-year-old Luffy looks like Garp. That's cool.
What are the alternate versions? If they became Marines? Ace looks like he has the jackets. Luffy looks like he failed and became homeless lmao

I just want to say that the SBS question about Luffy at 40 and 60 age is come from my country - Viet Nam. It's the first SBS question of Viet Nam and I can't tell you how excited I am (and jealous obviously )
Welcome to the club!! I was very happy when I saw my letter from Spain in One Piece Volume 72
I guessing giving up on your dreams you'll get fat and bald. :p
And 40 year old Luffy looks very handsome. I can see folks getting some fanart mileage out of Dad Luffy
Both 40 luffy and 40 ace look inspired from shanks, 60 ace is rayleigh and 60 luffy is garp.
Seem some other translations are out talking about gear 4 limit, it's only on haki, luffy could still fight and run i nthe 10 minutes, it's just haki that he can't use. And oda confirmed that if luffy would not get help in the fight with doflamingo he would still win in the end.
So, apparently, Luffy would've still won against Doflamingo even without the help of Gatz and the Colosseum gladiators.
Ace: Here's Ace where a fangirl of his asked how he'd look when he's 40 and 60 years old. On the side it says "Yo Luffy, you never change do ya?" and at 60 he says "I've retired!" Bottom what if: "Luffy, lend me some money" and "Chopper, a little out of the fridge…"
Luffy: At the top how he could look when he is 40 and 60 and on the bottom is Oda's version of a "what if" future. (I'm not sure of what that means but Oda says the future is unpredictable so he drew two different scenarios.) The first says on the side "Pirate king? Quit yer dreaming!" and the other says "Can I have that meat you got?"
There is translation what oda mean with this gear 4. https://ibb.co/kSvdNd

That was confirmed in the official release. Blame the shitty scanlations.
2 years pregnancy my a**, after the Captain was gone Rouge mingled with the First Mate (and waited the appropriate year after her husband's death)
So Smoothie is Spongebob tier? Does she get suds.

with the beating he took from katakuri him being a lot bloodier but still winning makes enough sense

I actually think his 60 year old self would look a lot like Roger if he had Roger's mustache.
Everyone brings up nami face but there isn't a ton of variety in attractive guys in one piece either

Double standards.
For whatever reason, some people turn into sjw's when it comes to the women but don't care about what happens with the men.
The OP fanbase is the only fanbase that's obsessed with this kinda thing. You never hear the Dragon ball fandom complain about stuff like this even though a lot of the human/humanoid characters are copy & pastes of each other.

A difference here is that there isn't a ton of attractive guys in general in One Piece, compared to females where there's more attractive girls than you know what to do with.

How often are there attractive guys in One Piece? I'm trying my best to count them. I can only guess Shanks, Ace, Sabo, and Cavendish off the top of my head. And they all tend to at least have different scars, facial hair, or freckles even if they share some design traits (which is bound to happen in a series as big as this). It is nowhere near as egregious as what happens to the girls.
Double standards.
For whatever reason, some people turn into sjw's when it comes to the women but don't care about what happens with the men.
I'm always game for tackling male generalizations and stereotypes just as much as women.
And please point out anything that is a bad recurring design trait in the men as much as the women. I'm not even being sarcastic, I would actually love to discuss that if you have interesting points I have or haven't noticed yet.
In this SBS, it is interesting that both 40-aged versions of Luffy and Ace look like Shanks. But Oda hardly ever draws any 40 year olds that look like Shanks. All of his middle-aged male characters look very different. From Shanks to Buggy to Moria to Crocodile, etc. And this is only an SBS.
The OP fanbase is the only fanbase that's obsessed with this kinda thing. You never hear the Dragon ball fandom complain about stuff like this even though a lot of the human/humanoid characters are copy & pastes of each other.
I think all of Toriyama's human characters are mostly designed very diversely. The only trend might be really liking bald people, but I kind of like how he doesn't settle for only having one or two token bald guys since baldness is very prevalent and he changes up the rest of their design traits drastically. Krillin, Roshi, and Tien all look very different.
And actually, plenty of people joke about how Toriyama's designs across the various series he works on tend to look similar. Like doing the same pointy ears for inhuman characters like Piccolo, Supreme Kai, and Magus in Chrono Trigger, or old men faces sometimes looking like Dr. Gero. But even then, they have loads of other differences that still help them stand out and not set up a shallow trend for gender portrayal.
I think Toriyama's only design weakness in Dragon Ball is when it comes to drawing demonic non-human characters. He seems to really like pointy elf ears for his demon characters, as I said before. Piccolo, Pilaf, and Garlic Jr. (although he's at least filler) are both bald pointy eared "demons" with different colored skin. But Toriyama has also done very different executions of demonic characters if we take a gander at Dabura, Devilman, and so on.
Focusing on Dragon Ball itself, there is much variety in the human cast. And unlike Oda, Toriyama actually gasp varies his female designs. And although female characters aren't exactly in big abundance or prominence, he also actually lets female characters like 18 fight against both genders once in a while and win/lose. The only thing he completely lacks in is coming up with female villains, but even they rarely come out of the woodwork like with Android 21 in the FighterZ video game.
The only awful mistake Toriyama did in his art-style was creating Mr. Popo. But at least e got funny parodies and memes out of him.

Yeah, Lucci looks exactly like himself - "Gold" Lucci, though, since no one would ever be attractive in W7/EL because back then Oda decided it was a good idea to draw everyone with rectangular eyes 15cm apart.
I'm… in love with 40s Luffy?? What's happening??
But yeah, male characters are not designed with beauty in mind. Even Cavendish is a bit stereotypical of what beauty should be, not like Boa where Oda tried to design the perfect face. That gives male characters a lot of interesting designs, but feels weird when compared to female ones.
So Noisette who was already named in the anime is confirmed to be 15th son, it was obvious that the Big Mom Pirates from the tea party being named in the anime are members of the Charlotte Family. There was even an interview in which the anime staff said that they got a hold of Oda's notes and information of the Charlotte Family and that they would being using that as a reference for the anime, now for Oda to give us the numbers for the rest of the Charlottes from the tea party in future SBS that way the One Piece Wiki can finally add them in the Charlotte Family page.
What are you people talking about?
people complain that Robin, Viola, Hancock, etc all look the same.
Or that Nami, Koala, Gerth look the same. Some even say Pudding looks
but all male characters look vastly different: Lucci, Enel, Kuma, Dragon, Crocodile, Doflamingo, Rosinante, Law, Bege, etc. The only male characters I can think of that look identical are the male decuplets and they are decuplets.

Apparently Old!Luffy looking like his grandfather shows that "good looking guys" in OP (a group we are still trying to figure if factitious or the product of delirious minds) are all similar, and people ignore that because we are all a bunch of SJW special snowflakes that should complain about that instead of the fact every cute girl is the same character dressed differently. Something like that, give it or take it.
All the SBS questions from Volume 89 thanks to Kirosh from Reddit
For Ace at 40 and 60 :
Q : I love Ace so much!! If he didn't die at the war, what would he be like? Please draw him at 40 and 60!!
Oda : Okay.
Ace (40): Hey Luffy, you're so old.
Ace (60): I'm retired.
Reality :
Ace (40): Hey Luffy, please lend me money.
Ace (60): Chopper, just give me a little bit, brother…
Oda: Well, not sure which one would have really happened, but it would be one of these two for sure.
The best Older and younger siblings of the Charlotte Family :
Q: Within Big Mom's 85 children, in chapter 891, Flampe says that Katakuri is king of big brothers and that there was a king of big sisters. Then who is the king of little brothers and king of little sisters?
Oda: Ehhhh, first of all, what Flampe said "Best of ", Flampe conducted that of her own accord. She's the kind of girl that she herself goes and takes the poll to everyone. Within that, there is the big, little, brother, sister results. Here is the top 3 for each.
Best older brother: 1 Katakuri, 2. Oven, 3. Perospero
Best younger brother: 1. Angure, 2. Nyuugo 3. Dolce
Best older sister: 1. Smoothie, 2. Amande 3. Brulee
Best younger sister: 1. Flampe, 2. Pudding. 3. Anana
Oda: In any case, the respective vote tally that is able to be taken isn't equal, it's just Flampe's "I want to be king of little sister" play/tom foolery.
About Smoothie :
Q: What is the power of Smoothie? She becomes so big in 894. Why? And why her sword is getting wet??
Oda: yeah...I don’t have enough page to draw these, but she has the power of Shibo Shibo no mi and she is a dehydration human. She can squeeze juice out of things and dehydrate anyone who is cut by her sword. She saves water got from somebody else and will become big after this. Then she can use those water in her body to attack. She is Strong.
About Gear 4 time limits and Dolfamingo in Dressrosa :
Q: After reading the manga and seeing the anime, I wonder why Luffy was unable to do anything for 10 minutes after Gear 4, but then moved around without a problem against Katakuri. Is this a plothole?
Oda: There is no limit. As long as you want to move, even if you were not able to use Haki, you could run away or fight anyway, right? In Dressrosa Luffy had help after using gear 4, so he relied on that help and saved his strength to prepare to take out Doflamingo once and for all. If he had no one to rely on, he would have still succeeded all on his own.
About how Nami acted toward Ceasar :
Q: Nami told Ceasar, he is "trash" and he should "kill himself". Did she learn that toxic attitude from Robin's wicked tongue?
Oda: Please reread Punk Hazard. Ceasar experimented on children and drugged them. He used his subordinates like experiment mice as well. He made weapons to kill innocent people. A man like Ceasar should be dead. Nami is only truly gentle to two types of people. Lovely children and lovely women. Her disgust for Ceasar comes from the bottom of her heart.
About Crocodile :
Oda : Crocodile enjoys crocodile meat and tomatos, yet he hates ketchup. Mr.1 eats raw ham, he hates roasted pork. This is why Crocodile had so many crocodiles, he raises and then eats them.
(I'm not sure for this one) About Katakuri :
Oda: His least favorite food is Ramen, and he sleep with his back against the wall, not in a bed.
About how Nami acted toward Ceasar :

Remember those people who wanted Caesar for nakama? Oda figuratively shit in the mouth of that idea.

I think you're being a big too narrow when it comes too god looking lol, though oda probaly isnt thinking about pandering to his female fans too often the moster trio look decent, the vinsmokes look fine, law, paulie, etc. Clearly the guys have more variance but a lot of people thought shanks was luffy's father because of his look and just this arc katakuri was zoro with eyelashes before we saw his mouth, yonji looked like zoro, ichiji looked like pretimeskip franky minus the chin etc. Im just saying oda has a few normal face he reuses for regular guys. Not sure how SJW's got into the discussion though.

Okay there is absolutely no way Oda doesn't know what he's doing at this point. Even if he didn't originally intend it, he's a smart guy, he knows what subtext looks like, and he just keeps letting it happen.

You have no idea how happy I am to read this. No redemption for Caesar and just let him stay as a perpetual punching bag is great.
And I love Caesar. But he's 100% irreedeamable.
Any translations for the part about the Charlotte siblings?

I don't remember if it was here but some people were triggered by Nami being "too harsh" to Caesar, like he's some poor victim.
Glad that Oda basically told them to reread Punk Hazard, lol

Thats pretty bunk. The entire climax was very clearly framed as Luffy running out of energy, and needing the support of Gatz and all the others to make it through. Luffy was about to pass out when Gatz reached him, he could barely even stand.
And on the flip side, saying that "Luffy would've won either way" just makes the effort of Gatz and everyone else to delay Doflamingo seem completely pointless.
Theres a lot of questionable things regarding the handling of Haki, but putting it on a timer takes the cake.

So what Oda is saying, is Caesar is totally joining the crew, right?
Seriously, while I appreciate Oda pointing out the (extremely) obvious here, it also throws the Straw Hat behavior in the Whole Cake ark in even worse light. Because while Nami apparently think Caesar is rotten to the core, with explicit backup from the author…that sure didn't make her raise any objections to using Caesars horrible weaponry to kill Big Mom. Nobody seemed to have any problem with that.

There was a panel in chapter 786 where Luffy said "I can't use haki for another ten minutes… I can run around to escape… but I have no idea what he'll do... during that time." I agree that it sucks some tension out of the fight... but the fight already lacked a lot of tension by that point anyway. I think this trade-off is worth it to lessen an inconsistency.

Big Mom isn't an innocent child or a duped subordinate. And she was someone they were planning on beating anyway.

The visual framing of the scene is just off, since Luffy says those things while being near passed out on Gatz' back, and since he loses his G4 transformation and his entire stamina simultaneously. Its a mess.

Its still extremely hypocritical of them. Caesar is a monster who makes monstrous weapons with monstrous effects, which was highlighted by the horrific aftermath that met Chopper and Nami in Zou. They called out Caesars atrocities then, but the very next arc they use the same weapons without a seconds hesitation? Thats not a good look.

What?That's bit silly.
Its a weapon why should matter who made it .
It was Bege that select it because it though poison would be most effective solution against BM that he has access to at that moment, never mind the fact that ones that use it was Bege,Vito and Goti.

Well she is also an awful person that wanted to kill an island Luffy just saved. If he can use Crocodile(who Oda seems to givs a pass) for saving Ace he can kill Big Mom to help Sanji.
I don't buy the whole Luffy could run fight since the first thing after G4 run out was Luffy crashing into houses when trying to stand. HE definitely can do it usually but on this occasion he had no energy and when there's conflict I take manga over author.

It's all circumstantial. Working with Capone "Beheads Animals for Fun" Bege isn't the best look either, but they were in pretty desperate circumstances. Plus, I think it's important to distinguish the weapons used in Zou and Totland: one an indiscriminate poison gas, the other a direct dose of death for someone we know deserves it. It'd be a totally different story if Caesar wanted to bomb the whole wedding with Koro or Land of Death, but that's not what happened. To me at least, it was made pretty obvious in the comic, and now out of it, that Caesar is not being redeemed or approved of just because he was needed one time. The crew continues to hate him all the way through and cut ties with him as soon as he's done his part, there aren't many better ways you could handle being forced to work with someone abhorrent like they were.
The crew's morality is untainted, at least for me. But even if it was, Vivi reminded us this week that they're pirates, not heroes. They get a bit of leeway to make questionable moral choices

Crocodile was one thing, especially since Luffy had to be convinced to let him help out at first, not to mention the life or death circumstances. I'm more amazed at the ease of Hachi's redemption. A lot got swept under the rug for that guy, and it didn't even happen in a perilous situation.
I don't think Daz is pointing out that the SH are wrong in handling BM as they tried to, but that it is hypocritical of them to try to play the high moral card when they are willing to descent just as low when it is convenient for them.
But even without the Caesar deal, WCI already tainted them in my eyes in that sense. Regardless of reason, the fact they actively joined a murder plan and tried their best to kill someone in cold blood is already what you would expect to be benath the SH, particularly when you add the fact they were trying to kill the said person in front of all her sons and daughters (luckily, the really young ones apparently weren't at the wedding, but it doesn't look like the SH would have any problem murdering someone in front of her 10yo son). The fact the target, Big Mom, is a hideous person who usually goes even lower than that doesn't matter as far as the SH go, a lowly act is a lowly act regardless of its target.
I am not saying they were wrong in doing so, quoting Luffy himself they are pirates, not heroes - and at the end of the day pirates ARE criminals. But at the same time the series try to sell the SH as the virtuous pirate crew and that is out of the window at least for me - and honestly, I actually prefer them like that.
To me Crocodile will always be the worst offender. He actively help a person that help his escape his punishment because it increased a little bit on the chance of saving his brother.
For Big Mom he just didn't objact to killing a person that tried to kill his friends, kidnap a couple of other friends and was holding hostage people he wants to save.
Honestly, neither Nami and Chopper (the harshest ones against Caesar) played any part in the Big Mom's asassination plan except waiting until they could back up Sanji and the Vinsmoke. They let it happen but why should they care about someone like BM getting her just deserts? I don't see the hypocrisy and how this is even comparable to Caesar's actions in Punk Hazard tbh
Not to mentioned they ruined Dressrosa's economy for Law's petty revenge…
That's a bit of a joke. But I never thought of the moral implications of Impel Down lol It makes a lot of sense considering he let out a bunch of dangerous criminals into the world.
@Daz:

They are pirates, not saints or heroes. Oda's not always good at showing this, but I think this was one of the times where it worked. They can condemn Caesar one minute and be use his weapons against the woman who already has tried to kill two of them, (and thinks she's succeeded) is about to attempt the secret murder of another of their members and is the one who put Caesar up to the experimenting on kids for gigantification.
I don't think Luffy thought about it in these terms at all, but even if they were thrown in his face, do you think there's a convincing characterization of him where he would demand that the part of the plan concerning Caesar's weapon be changed? I could maybe buy Nami appealing to him to not do it, but that's as far as I'm willing to go unless you have something better.
Hell, even boyscouts like Captain America have to get their hands dirty sometimes. I see nothing wrong with the WCI plan.
I mean Robin is a member of the crew…
Using a weapon to kill a horrible warlord is different than using it to kill innocent people.
