Besides brilliant chapter.It's pretty clear that Saeki can't draw Luffy and Usopp, the two of them were barely in the chapter and were always obscured.

Huh, I thought that was intentional because these chapters are about Sanji - and in this issue specifically his relationship with Zoro and Nami. Everyone else would just divert your attention, if only by a little. Obscuring them like this worked really well for me.
I expect more of this in the future, just other crewmembers being focused on.

I love how these chapters have been — it's clear that they're being published due to the analytical prowess of these manga-ka.
This is building up on the foreshadowing Oda did with Sanji all the way back in Enies Lobby AND WCI. Sanji showed big ドン energy against Wanze by dual-wielding knives with precision. Judge discussed teaching Sanji how to use a sword.
Sanji has to be Zoro's training partner once he gets serious. Predictions (nothing new):
1. Shiryu will kill Mihawk. Zoro will have to defeat Shiryu to become the best swordsman in the world.
2. Zoro will train against Sanji, who has been holding himself back this whole time. Once Sanji gets serious, he's dangerous.
3. Sanji has great observation haki, can become invisible, and is exceptionally fast. All necessary if Zoro wants to take down invisible swordsman Shiryu.
4. Zatoichi Zoro will lose another eye against Shiryu, becoming the blind swordsman. Doesn't matter; he'll still win after awakening Observation Haki.
5. Of course, Zoro will have to take down Issho eventually too. -
If Kaido is a fish, it's not that farfetch'd of an idea for Sanji to wield a Meito blade against him at some point.

I didn’t like that luffy and Usopp were blocked by the speech bubbles, specially if they have to show up just once or twice. It was kinda off because of that.

I supose it was editorial decision. The faces thing I mean. The thing is that is a shorthand for “this person is not important” or “this person is a nasty piece of shit that I didn’t want to draw more than necessary”
I’d guess the next one will be for Vivi and chopper, this is a good vehicle for fanfic of the crew in the sea, as Oda is no longer providing that, one of these between islands would be fantastic.

Got to keep in mind that this is not just an hommage to Oda or One Piece, not a medium effort doodle for a Shounen jump cover. It's a full chapter that happens in the world of a still ongoing series, with its main characters in the spotlight.
So I consider omitting or masking anyone who isn't crucial to the plot a sign of respect between mangaka first and foremost.This isn't _"_Shokugeki no Remember when the crewmembers interacted with another" or _"_Shokugeki no Remember when the Straw Hats weren't caricatures of themselves".
It's Shokugeki no Sanji, and the author won't be borrowing more than he needs. He isn't poaching on Oda's turf, he just passes through and takes a few pictures.
It wouldn't surprise me if Nami and Zoro are blocked in the next issue, or we just hear them scream something from the sidelines (Chopper and Vivi as the next protagonists is a great idea!).

The artist wrote on his Jump comment that he was happy to be able to draw Zoro and Nami, so I guess this softly implies that he didn't have permission to draw Usopp and Luffy.
Anyway, everything was done very properly, so the omissions didn't bother me.

“Shokugeki no Sanji” seems pretty popular among Japanese fandom. Here is a summary of interviews about this spin-off.
In 2017, an editor asked Tsukuda (one of the authors), “Don’t you think it’d be cool if you draw Shokugeki no Sanji?
Tsukuda got excited to hear the idea because he was a big OP fan.Sanji’s detailed backstory was revealed in Whole Cake Island arc, which changed fans’ views about Sanji quite a lot.
Tsukuda decided to focus on Sanji in East Blue rather than him after WCI arc since the latter would be hard to handle for him.Sanji was supposed to remove his necktie when cooking in the spin-off, but Oda gave a feedback that Sanji should tighten it instead.
Before WCI arc, he declared to his editor that he would not draw how to bake a cake in detail since Jump already had a cooking manga “Shokugeki no Soma”.
Oda praised Tsukuda after reading the manuscript of Shokugeki no Sanji chapter 1.In 2019, Tsukuda asked Oda to give him permission of drawing Sanji spin-off again and Oda agreed

I liked the 2nd one even though I think that Zoro's lines seem way out of character IMO.
For instance, I don't feel that Zoro would ever make these kind of attacks to Sanji and particularly not when they were still in East Blue (their relationship were pretty normal until Little Garden).
But in any case, great art as expected. Not the most outstanding foodgasm coming from the SnS duo though.

I do agree about Zoro being kinda out of chara here. Can't see him being this tsundere type and him giving sword to cut fish is really farfetched.

As I told you, Shokugeki no Sanji chapter 3 takes place in Arabasta.
_- Chapter starts in the banquet in Alubarna.
- Terracotta (Igaram's wife) and palace chefs aren't enough to satisfy Luffy's appetite.
- But Sanji arrives and helps them, and then another chefs from Arabasta help too.
- Sanji prepares a special dessert for Vivi and she remembers all the good moment she had with the Straw Hat Pirates.
- At the end of the chapter, just before Straw Hat Pirates leave the palace, Terracotta entrusts Sanji an old recipe book from Arabasta._

This chapter wasn't quite as interesting as the previous two, but it did provoke some thinking about Sanji's character. He's always been a pervert and a simp, but when he's at his best those traits get balanced by him exercising his more noble passions. And since Oda has almost always portrayed cooking as a free action rather than an actual labor and process, Sanji's value among OP fans has often rested in him fighting or doing Mr. Prince secret agent stuff. I'm not saying Oda needs to draw cooking scenes with the same level of detail as the creators of a smash-hit series based entirely around cooking, but it's quite evident how Tsukuda & Saeki have tapped a more complete version of Sanji much better than Oda has in the last decade.

I don't think there are a lot of point left if this series keeps to have a chronological order. Fishmen Island can be the right chance to put something about seafood for the princess. Then, Dressrosa for some spanish paella for Viola, Zou about how Sanji cooked the best lasagna ever for Nekomamushi (and obviously Carrot and Wanda) just a moment before being kidnapped by Bege, Wholecake for some delicious sweet that made Purin waver even thought she was acting. Wano could also put the special soba he was cooking as Sangoro.
Strange they skipped Skypiea and Water 7, as I am sure something could've been portraied there too.
