@MetaMario:
Like I'm sure everyone has said, three eyes are the thing that creeps out Big Mom? When most of her roster is filled with eccentric looking children and associates? Even in the OP world in general, a third eye should be small potatoes in terms of "freak people".
Actually, I don't find this to be so much of a stretch.
First, even freaks like to have someone freaker to look down - it's human. So yeah, Totland might be the country with the most diverse population in the world, but that doesn't automatically imply that it's the most open-minded one. Besides, maybe long-arm/leg/neck children get picked on too.
Second, eyes are among the most commonly shared features between living beings, mirror of the soul and so on. Even in the real world I would gave a hard time naming a mammal or fish that doesn't have a pair of eyes, functional or not. And those creatures that have more or none - spiders, jellyfishes - usually tend to freak us out. The OPverse doesn't seem much different, considering the 3-eyes are apparently extremely few. As such, I don't find it absurd that some deviations from the biologic norm may be more unsettling than others.
As for being Big Mom's daughter, I don't see how this should preserve her in any way. Those kids mocking her yes could very well be her siblings, and even if they're not children tend to be cruel to each other regardless of social status and such. Besides, Linlin's idea of education is that wanting to stab your brothers and sisters is perfectly fine, so I don't really picture her making a case against name calling
Anyway, this is only my take on the "being a 3-eyes in Totland" situation. Beyond that, I seriously hope Oda doesn't pull a Violet again. It's fine if shock stays her hand for a few minutes, but that really shouldn't be enough to completely turn around Pudding's character.
