As far as Daruma, I completely forget about him. Maybe on purpose. You mean the fact that he can chew or something else? It's not a DF power so I'm fine with that.

As for Trebol, it's a DF power that out of nowhere ^O^ has the power to be highly flammable because it made for drama. We can agree that Ope Ope is OP and considering how much it's sought after that's fine. But DR is just a culmination of powers that seem to be built entirely on furthering the plot at the author's convenience. Does Oda have a reason for it? Maybe? But by gosh, if he can't take two panels to explain a power to make it seem even a bit natural, that gives me reason to worry about the character-building.

That doesn't mean HOW we get surprised doesn't matter. There are skillful ways of doing it by manipulating expectations with what is already set up with the info we know, and then there can be times where new stuff is tacked on in a cheap way to make people surprised without actually being clever. The thing about Brook is that he was already in a Luffy disguise since the plan started. He didn't just come to the rescue when he saw Luffy needed it, it was always on his mind. And that is a bit weird since everybody seemed fine with Luffy being bait and breaking the picture. We may know the plan won't work as readers, but that does not mean the characters know.

I still think this is cool. I love Brook getting to shine. But I'm still going point out parts of a comic I love that I feel could be improved in certain ways. This is a rather minor thing, so I am not that concerned.

Big Mom is really the only character in OP that gives Luffy vibes.

She is what Luffy would look like if he was evil.

Loved her heart eyes upon seeing the cake, forgetting about fake brook in an instant after getting distracted by something else and her reaction when katakuri tries to protect her.

But he does it all of the time. He argued with Luffy over taste preferences and he acts hysterical whenever he gets hurt or is scared of dying. And he has a nice jolly evil laugh.

To be specific, the Japanese version just says he ate the Mochi Mochi Fruit and Mochi Mochi is actually an onomatopoeia used to describe anything with a mochi-like texture (doughy, elastic, springy).

Not exactly the same as saying he is a "Mochi" (the food) man.

Just have to think of some natural substance that could behave that way.

I don't mind Mochi being a logia. The one I'm having trouble with is Trebol's sticky sticky fruit. They're similar concepts (even including onomatopoeia) but different classes.

I guess there are paramecia and logia fruits that are very similar to each other, but the difference being that one can only produce a substance the element, and the other transform into it. Magellan's and Galdino's fruits would both makes sense as logias.

And then we have cases like Baby 5's fruit.

Not actually a logia but they take on some properties of what they can produce. (ie Galdino looking melty in high heat)

I'm sure that Opera's a Parmecia. His cream seems to not be as sticky as Trebol's, but still have it's own flame-based properties. Instead of exploding, the "sweetness" burns people. For some reason that probably follows alongside Oda's thought process in making flammably explosive mucus.

On a side note, some of my favorite designs in One Piece are the ones where standard attire or physique are actually a part of one's Devil Fruit powers. Such as Trebol's mucus coat, Caesar's gas coat, and Opera's cream skin. It makes their attacks look more organic when summoned from parts of their body/clothes than just being willed into existence from thin air. I always appreciate design cleverness like that.

His array of powers isn't much bigger than Cracker's - Cracker was a skilled swordsman, had tough Armament Haki, and was a master craftsman with his Devil Fruit. Plus, Katakuri's Haki and Devil Fruit have very clear weaknesses just like Cracker's did.

I was under the impression he(Sanji) predicted both shots.

So I imagine fighters like sanji and luffy are not good to fight sticky logia, since they get ..stuck. A swordman like zoro would be more suited to fight him, even more with air slashes. But wait…what if sanji shows his knifemanship and/or rankyaku.

Also, how does armaments of haki work? You still get stuck if you touch him with it or not? Since hak iallows you to touch the real body of logias.

It could be just that he can't see that is changed by his own actions, or by actions resulting from knowing the future (so there's no iterative procedure). And he sees exact images (as evidenced by Pudding's situation), it would be weird if he couldn't distinguish his own shot from priest's one.

I don't see that as a weakness. Because Sanji is somewhat a prodigy on Kenbun, he would dodge anything that would come to him, besides that's what the usual power does, attempt an attack.

For applicated simplicity here, let say that normal users attempt movement, potato attempts situations. In that regard, his sight is an outstanding feature of him, and does not have a weakness because he sees the situations where you're going to make a movement… Haki was made to stand above devil fruits after all, and still Oda gives him a Logia. Cracker was fine, hardest Buso and great skill over his power, potato is just overwhelming... makes Jozu and Marco feel like Buggy and Galdino.

If he attacks Katakuri's body directly and not his body when it's stretched out and all sticky, I think his arament would cancel out Katakuri's devil fruit effect as usual. I don't see any reason to think otherwise, unless Katakuri has already stretched out.

Nope - the priest didn't shoot until Katakuri hit him, and his shot went wide.

Not necessarily - Observation doesn't let your body do anything out of the ordinary. If Sanji was forced to go into Katakuri's line of fire in order to avoid the priest, then he'd be dead.

Yes, it's very strong but it does not work well with everything. Katakuri might be able to see that movement, but he will not see what else is going on around that movement. Thus, he can deal with that movement as best he can, but will be unable to anticipate another party jumping in and sabotaging him. Like when he saw Luffy attacking the portrait of Carmel - he either failed to see Brook doing it later, or he mistook Brook for Luffy and assumed he prevented the movement when he went after Luffy.

And Logia doesn't equal strength. We've met Logia users like Caribou, Monet, and Caesar who were total patsies compared to guys like Doflamingo and Jack. Plus, Haki can be a complement to Devil Fruits, like with Cracker. I don't see how the two need to be separate. Marco and Jozu both have powerful Devil Fruits + Haki.

The zoan model is not Sidarta Gautama no Mi so there shouldn't be a Jesus fruit.

But Christ/Messiah is also a title/adjective, it means the anointed one, so we could have a oil/oily fruit.

Breaking apart and shaking the status Quo is what Luffy is all about. So it stands to reason that Characters such as Capone and Morganz will be gradually pulled towards him.

Considering that Capone continually seeks the excitement brought by chaos and seeing how Luffy pretty much is a turmoil bringer (for selfish reasons most of the times, ); The alliance with Capone is pretty much a given even if ''forced'' by circumstances.By the end of this arc I could envision Capone as a SH supporter. Primarily for the thrill most of their actions carry. Can you imagine the outcome of an OP world without a head (World goverment). Mr Capone would be bursting in ecstasy on the sole thought. At least that's how I see their relationship. What do you think?
