I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

The God of Destruction for Universe 2. She's extraordinarily beauty-conscious, and doesn't do well with anything ugly.Herms commentary: Heles is descibed as a God of Destruction on the main character page but as a "warrior" on her profile page, but this is probably a mistake.
Not sure about ヘレス/Heresu. ヘレネス=Hellenes, as in the Greeks, but I don't see an immediate alcohol reference.

Helles the type of beer is ヘレス/Heresu in Japanese, while Sherry is typically シェリー/Sherii.
It's true Jerez in Japanese is also ヘレス/Heresu, but this is (usually) used to refer to the city Jerez de la Frontera rather than the alcohol
So that's why I think Helles is most likely the pun, though it's not like Jerez is impossible by any means.

I'm a bit surprised that the robot and the elephant are counterparts, and not the elephant and the mouse. (Isn't it a cliche that elephants are scared of mice? I remember that was in Donkey Kong Country 3, at least)

So that buff alien dude that fights Goku in the opening is a super hero.
Considering universe 7 team is mostly formed by former villains and it's Goku fault this tournament even exist I wonder if Toriyama/ Toei are pushing that our heroes are the "baddies" for this arc. -

Actually, I'm very glad that that they're the only ones that look similar. Not that the designs for any of the non-cat Gods really wow me except for Arak (he looks like he came straight out of an Oddworld game) and maybe Liquor, but I'm tired of Super's generic rehash designs and transformations.

The universes who's numbers add up to 13 are twins (so 6 and 7, 12 and 1, 4 and 9, etc.) So 6 and 7 have Saiyans and Freezers, but no other universe does.
Beerus and Champa are expressly the only Gods of Destruction who are twins of their counterpart. Considering the position is apparently something you can earn, it makes you wonder if there were more Kitty Cat Gods once upon a time.

So hopefully the "twin" Gods have the most banter between each other. 2 and 11 is Heres and Vermouth, and I can already picture him fucking around just to annoy her haughty "beauty over all" kind of attitude.

I don't mind them being twins at all as long as they're the only ones. It helps make them unique, and it works even better that Beerus and Champa are the first Gods of Destruction we see before all of the varied ones.

Yes. Don't listen to the people who bash it just because it's a party platformer like Super Smash Bros (and it's VERY different in its own right. I even argue that the fighting mechanics are better than Smash in certain regards). As if making a game in a similar genre makes it a ripoff, or that having more cool crossover fighting games is somehow a bad thing lol.
Anyways, to get back on-topic… I wish Gohan's gi had different colors to help distinguish him more from Goku and Krillin, even though I get that's the same attire from the Buu saga.

I really liked that battle, and it goes to show that you don't need Goku or Vegeta to be U7's ace - Buu is pretty tough to beat.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gohan loses just so they can build-up to when he becomes stronger than ever in defeating someone. That's probably why they held out so long on even giving him a notable fighting role in an arc until now.

Throwing the fight to make it more interesting is also a possibility; Zeno might get bored with a clean sweep but losing the second match would make the third actually mean something.
Then again, Universe 9 might get nuked anyway after these exhibitions just to show that he's serious about all this.

I'm surprise that Gohan seems to seek his father's approval.
Universe 9 seems to be crazy. I mean the god of the destruction seems like a nice guy while the kaioshin seems evil/crazy.

Yeah, Goku is definitely getting a little too excited about getting a fight. Again, hope and wonder if something comes from that.
Buu vs. Basil was a lot of fun.
Also, Gohan not having his forehead lock is wierd.

While I like Hit… But this episode and first fight was far better than everything at U6 tournament.

The thing that bothers me is what are all these people figthing for? We know Goku's (extensively - because fighting) Gohan (to save the universe) and Buu (because satan asked me to). But the other guys are fighting to overpower and kill people?
The gods probably didn't tell anybody about the erasure, goku found out by being there after all.
Making ALL reasons to survive makes this a very monotone tournament if it goes on
