The first chapter has a lot of similarities to Bleach and I never liked Bleach
I will read the future chapters to see the story's direction before deciding to pick it up or not
-
I was not bothered by how it completely followed a set template but it left no impression on me..
Well I guess the art is good..

The main character looks almost exactly like Ichigo, and the beginning with the fight under the bridge looks like that scene where Ichogo and Chade became friends. And the whole ninja with
! a cat demon/spirit sealed inside him… I don't think it's a coincidence. But since those other manga ended so badly and were so popular, I'm ok with someone trying their hand at those concepts. Unless it becomes obvious that the author just jumped on the bandwagon.

Nice. Thanks for posting.

If anyone interested, here is the one shot (in raw) which Takaki Tsuyoshi did on last year in Jump SQ.Crown, called Freaks; this work resembles more on Fullmetal Alchemist. I, personally, wanted this to be serialized.

! the plot twist with the grandpa being a member of public bureau of espionage was predictable and generic as hell
! it's a shame considering the characters' dialogue is pretty solid -
Yeah it's hard to argue with the genericness there. I haven't read Blue Exorcist in a while but the old man/bratty kid dynamic of this chapter was giving me some pretty fierce deja vu.

A serialization of that one-shot probably would have been more interesting for me. BT follows templates to a tee and there is only so much that i can take…

Reading this has reminded me of how much I used to like Ichigo :/

Doesn't help that after the chapter is dine there's immediately a picture from Blue Exorcist used for the scanlation group lol.
The main character is much less interesting than pre HM Ichigo and Rin.

Oh wow. I wasn't paying much attention by the end so I thought it was just another ad for Black Torch :/
I'll agree that Brash Protagonist-kun isn't as interesting as those two, although Ragu's pretty fun. I guess I'm just a sucker for that kinda character. It doesn't help that Tsundere-chan is also less interesting than pre-kidnapping Rukia..
