Hi! So, I am in quarantine, and in dire need of entertainment, does anyone have any plans to start something?

I’d probably be down for a game of mafia, too.
-
I wouldn't mind joining for a game, I just need to learn how to play, etc.
-
Well. I wouldn’t want to step on anyone’s toes, but I could maybe put a game together if there’s enough interest and availability in the near future.
Need to see how to set up the private chats, but I’m sure I could figure it out.
-
Well, if anyone else wants to set a game they can let us know. In the meantime, I'd say go ahead. I am in (as long as it starts reasonably soon).
starlaliliymoon, I think you'd like the game, the first post has a pretty good rundown of what to expect, and the rest you can learn on the job :D

Oh I'll start something!
Oh, a mafia game? Sure, I'm in.
-
I'm free starting two weeks from now, so if that fits I'd love to join in.

I am at the point where if anyone is willing to start anything, I will be in. Unless, you are talking about starting a tiger family, then I am out.

Woot thank you!
I check out that first post when a game will happen, so I can remember the details a bit better than if I checked it out now.
-
Sounds like there are a good number of people who'd be interested. Huschel, were you volunteering to run a game or just be in one? Otherwise, it sounds like anyone who wants to run a Mafia game should open a new thread so people can sign up there.
-
I’ve been a little busy with other things, but I intend to start a thread for a new game in the next couple days so people can begin signing up.

Happy to have new people interested. A word of warning though: sometimes these games can get a little heated. I recommend not taking anything too personally and treat it more like a kind of roleplay.

I have no plans of running a game right now. I'll gladly join Kirby's.

Thank you for the warning. I was planning to treat it like a roleplay, sorta like D&D honestly.

Thinking of starting a new Mafia game. Anyone interested? Probably will start in the next 2-3 weeks if there are enough players.
Will that bump into the time you were thinking of starting your game, kmo?

Nope, I am fine with starting a bit later.
I'd like to play your game though, count me in. :D

Another chance to steal a gun from Jabs? Why not!
-
I'm ready for another round!
-
Yes, I'm ready! I can't wait! Now, that I know how to play, I can do better this time around and not be confusing xD

There's something very reassuring about returning six years later and seeing what my heart has known to be true all along:
AP mafia is still going.

Yeah, it's pretty fun! Maybe you can join in for the next game!

I'm putting together a new format of Mafia games: Mafia Roulette.
I love the Mafia community on this forum. The amount of creativity that goes into developing unique new game mechanics is incredible, but as fun as it is to keep things fresh, maybe its time to revisit these old ideas. Each game of Mafia Roulette will take 1-3 mechanics from past games and give them a chance to shine again. We'll be revisiting the oldest games first and adding in newer mechanics each game.
I also want to make this format available to anyone who wants to use it, but that leaves an enormous task ahead of me: I need to write detailed descriptions of every single mechanic we've ever introduced. Mechanics weren't always clearly or fully explained, so that means a lot of digging through past games. It's doable, but don't expect a Roulette thread anytime soon.
There's just one problem: The ZetaBoards games.
I remember some of them, but there are still four I need help with.
Three happened after I left AP and are more recent: Dungeon Crawl, Exoplanet Explorer, and Battleship Voyage.
And the fourth is one that I forgot: Mafia XIII: Databook Black by Harvardy.
I'm hoping some of you can help me out with descriptions of the mechanics in these games.

Well I wasn't really active when those games were being played, so can't help you with the descriptions. But, what you can do is use the wayback machine to access the defunct websites, including zetaboards . Here are the links I found.

http://web.archive.org/web/20180526230230/http://s15.zetaboards.com/Test_Mafia/index/Among these the Databook Black game is behind password, so maybe you are out of luck, unless someone happens to have the passwords from back then. Others you should be able to view.
Hope that helps.
