Very nice recap of the events of the series from Why Man's point of view.
Why-Man's explanation makes sense from their standpoint. I guess Senku wants to build a spaceship with their technology.
Another manga i've been reading since chapter 1 coming to an end. 2 chapters left and it is said to be over.
For the finale Senku will use the single medusa to crack antigravity + perfect cell regeneration and bump humanity to a post-scarcity utopia.
They do have a pile of Medusa in Brazil, with whyman here they could help understanding those “corpses” instead of damaging the live one.

There hasn’t been any indication on how petrification messes with nutrition, could it be cheaper to become rock than eating?
Without the previous cities, everyone could live where there is no need for internal heating/cooling. Without borders trade would be just transport, no customs or bullshit, if someone has to live in extreme weather instead of enduring winter or using up extra resources, just become stone and break out when it is convenient, not counting the healthcare improvements except for eyesight, somehow.
The petrification healing must also help with trauma somehow, no one is facing any post petrification issues, where anyone would have gone mad being conscious for so many years.
The big issue is the rare materials scarcity.
Without the sheer strength of tsukasa, made void with the power of science, or the head start of xeno, made null by the third petrification wave, no rich asshole or charismatic warlord can force the world into what it was
if they are going to breed like rabbits then senku's dna is a must
If it ends next chapter (no special epilogue somewhere else) I'm surprised it ends without revealing how Byakuya ended up adopting Senku.
I expected more mundane aplications of antigravity instead of jumping into a big scifi project. Good ending anyway.
Good ending. I wonder if being turned to stone more than once kept them looking the same or it was just a plot hole?
Wait, about the robot that stayed in the spaceship Byakuya went to?

Yuzu's hair grew up, so not really?
The spin off isn't canon, as stated by Boichi and Inagaki. Though this chapter they speculated that a possible use for the time travel machine would be to send an AI back in time to fix earth after the petrification (with a picture of Rei in the background), so it's more a what-if of Dr. Stone's ending.
That was a good, if expected ending. I'm honestly surprised they jumped all the way to the wedding but I suppose it made sense to justify the big what-if Time Machine at the end.
Good ending, overall a solid series that I can't complain too much about.
I'm going to miss Senku, that's for sure. There's no one quite like him and this series had such a colorful cast that just hits a particular spot for me. Good ending.
This series has not only succeeded in what it set out to do but far exceeded it. I think if Einstein was alive and read this, he would surely recommend it to young children that he knows. As a whole, it was a fun ride and a series with such strong educational elements and research done like Dr Stone is rare. We tend to forget that a huge demographic of jump are younger children and instead of your usual fantasy fluff, you can really feel how the duo wants to inspire young kids reading this to have an interest in not just science but also in discovery, learning and the importance of hard work. A few hiccups here and there towards the end but an outstanding series nonetheless.
At its peak, Dr. Stone was amazing, at its worst, it was just pretty ok. I'm very happy it exists and that it ended at the right time.
! I really enjoyed the last few chapters, but was a bit confused of the point of the time travel machine?
! They're on their way to developing a better society -due to what they've been through- without using the "weapons of science" for war. So now, despite showing Gen working an ambassador trying to help these old nations being revived into their new world, Senku, Xeno, and Chrome as working on time travel…to what end?
! Overall I've loved the series. Just honestly a bit more confused as to the point of the time travel specifically.
Satisfying. The opening page looked like a poster for a film.

I think the time machine is up in the air on whether it will even be completed. But the point of it, at least from my pov, relates back to the series message of possibilities and that the last chapter should be them working on something that is impossible again. An aspect that is overlooked is that Senku has not really invented anything new for humanity, he is an encyclopedia that can build basically anything but has never built anything new. That's actually insane that he didn't deus ex machina a single thing considering this entire premise was built on a sci-fi scenario. This is his first attempt Senku at inventing something new for human history. If you take it as a narrative device (of ending with a new experiment and sending the message that humanity still can progress) instead of trying to overly find the logic behind it (possible plotholes), the time machine makes sense. Also, all of the issues with it can be explained with alternative timelines theory, that even if he saved the "past" his current present does not disappear, instead time is like a river that branches.

The point is to save society as a whole and the people who died as a product of petrification or the 3700 years timeskip (and the 5 guys Hyoga killed). There are tons of posibilities: warning people of the past to brace themselves and prevent accidents (like people getting petrified in the air or mid traffic), going post petrification and instantly restoring broken statues or identifiying the individuals who got broken and saving them pre petrification.
Been saying it since the first few chapters. Dr. Stone would make for a great live action film.

Well, it kinda depends if time travel works like Back To The Future or Dragonball Z.
My weekly readings already feel empty without Dr. Stone. Suppose I should write my final thoughts on it.
I had a ton of fun with this manga, no matter the quality. The arcs from the intro through the story with the creepy elder were great. But from there on I lost interest due to rushed pacing, overabundance of characters with stagnant personalities. I also wish it dove deeper into criticising the negative effects of modernization, seeing the villagers casually accept things like suits felt wrong. Though given the goal of going to the moon I can understand why it was rushed, and the author made sure to end with a bang which was very, very nice.
Ultimately I'm leaving this series with a very positive impression. No matter how rushed it got, the fact that it's a celebration of science and consistently pushed that message throughout the story was fantastic. It's a positive aspect of humankind that deserves to be highlighted. There's so much shitty stuff in the real world and stories about how horrible things are but we must be kind and united, compared to that science is a tangible concept you can point to and say "we achieved this, and we can achieve so much more". I hope it has helped some kids out there feel better about the world and pursue science. I don't know if this series had that kind of influence, but if it did that's a beautiful thing.
I won't be collecting the volumes and doubt I'll reread it anytime soon, but I'm happy to have stuck with it until the end.
Just finished 232.5.
I knew I had a lot of stuff to watch in April but I completely missed Dr. Stone! I have to catch episode 1 and 2 at a later time, but here are the links so far:
Episode Ryusui - https://www.crunchyroll.com/watch/G2XU0WZ9J/ryusui
Episode 1 - https://www.crunchyroll.com/watch/GN7UDVKPQ/new-world-map
Episode 2 - https://www.crunchyroll.com/watch/GK9U3D25X/greed-equals-justice
Ryusui oddly became one of my favorite characters so it should be a fun ride.
