I hope for a year tops, because they wouldn’t show the dog alive and well if they weren’t ever going to reunite, but the idea of 40+ y/o Suika seems intriguing
Yeah, gotta hope that Suika will reunite with the dog. I'd rather it be soon, but my gut says she'll at least be 13 before any revival takes place.

! Inagaki should've dwelled on the situation for a bit longer but at least it did take Suika several years to get there. Good to see that Senku keeps his iconic face cracks, also it's cute that Suika copied Senku and wrote the mass-energy equivalence equation on her poncho.
! According to Senku it's been seven years since the second apocalypse, so Suika should be about 16 years old if two years passed before she got revived.

Still wondering where the series is going from here with this being resolved rather quickly. Since Suika already gathered up everyone in the same spot laid back tracking down/reviving the remaining squad mates is out of the question, which tbh is too bad because I still think Dr. Stone is at its best during those laid back/slice of life-ish segments. On to the mystery of Whyman I guess, still not sure how that road is gonna look like tho.

They could use his genius but he comes with the hefty price of not knowing how he will try to screw them over again. Stanley and his lackeys already killed all good people once before so they shouldn't be revived until Senku has uncompromisable defense mechanisms on his side.
! After that they'll probably do what they came to South America for in the first place, establish Superalloy City. They'll need more people especially if people need to be left behind again, and unlike in Corn City they don't have no infrastructure in place yet, so that also needs to be done.
! Once Superalloy City is self-sufficient, they need to go back to Corn City and rescue their people from petrification. And once the whole setback by Xeno and their antagonism is dealt with they can finally go on to the remaining Aluminum City, Rubber City and Math City.
! Really makes you wonder how long this series will run

! Pretty good rundown, thanks a lot! Seems like I had forgotten about a lot of milestones and past events, guess it's a good incentive to reread Dr. Stone. Now that you've laid it out for me it almost sounds like we will eventually build a rocket from scratch Subnautica style to meet Whyman on the moon. That could very well take a good amount of time depending on how many parts we skip/speed up, crazy stuff indeed. I guess the coming chapters will serve as a good indicator of the overall direction and rate of progress to come.

I was wondering about the lack of discussion, but obviously it already happened under spoilers. Anyway, I wonder if teen Suika can still fit in a watermelon.
The days of watermelon Suika are probably sadly over. I'm curious to see if she will keep the rest around her neck, get a smaller watermelon helmet with lenses, glasses that are somehow similar to watermelons or just ditch that asthetic entirely.
Anyway, the translated chapter explains why it took Suika so long to revive Senku, which honestly isn't that surprising. Just because Senku wrote down the instructions won't make an 11-year-old who's barely able to read capable of following those steps flawlessly.
Seven years is pretty good. Good on Suika.

Suika had no clue how long she was petrified for. Her guess was 1-2 years but we can probably get confirmation next chapter if she tells us how long it took to get the right formula.
Suika doesn't know it herself but the panels after everyone got petrified that also show the growth of the dog and the hog suggest that there were two winters in-between
Just a nice, heartfelt mini arc. Looking forward to where Suika goes as a character moving forward.

! I had a feeling up to the reveal that Tsukasa will definitely not like what it’s building up to. It's such a big deal that I really don't know where Inagaki will go with it until the end if the series. The petrification device already should never fall into the wrong hands but now it's more important than ever. If Xeno and his goons find out, or any other futute antagonist for that matter, they will not shy away to make as many sacrifices as it takes to get a working device into their hands, since life sacrifices can now just be undone.
The problem is that they can't just destroy all existing devices and be done with it since first of all, it's too handy both as a deterring weapon and a panacea, and second the entire point of the series is that you can never stop humanity from advancing in science and no matter how long it takes, they will get there in the end anyways. So how exactly will they deal with the existence of Dr. Stone that will not just end up like the 21st century all over again, just with more powerful weapons?
Did not see this one coming, nope! So many implications with this reveal I'm gonna hold back with my judgement for now.

Dr. Stone is really inconsistent about languages, half the cast shouldn't be able to understand the other. Altough spanish speakers can communicate with portuguese speakers and understand each other with ease.
I think that's mostly for simplicity's sake. If we spent a panel each time Gen/Francois/whoever else translates something the readability would suffer a lot

This is the first chapter ever since the Stanley chase began that I have actually read fully and just skimmed through. It's really been a while since this manga actually wanted to make me read each speach bubble. More of this please.
It bugs me that years have passed during this moon trip project but nobody looks any different.
Man, we are really speeding things up it seems. Successful satellite launch + space telescope within a few pages and even locating Why-Man's supposed base in the same chapter. Not sure how I feel about that to be honest, I hope at least the eventual confrontation with Why-Man gets some time to breathe.
Things are moving at a breakneck speed, but to be honest with how the last arcs have dragged on I'm glad for it. Ever since the goal became to go from this stone world to visiting the moon there's been this constant worry of how exactly the manga will depict that process without being boring or too long. This seems like a good solution. We skim over the production and can hopefully focus on the final confrontation and then wrap it all up in a nice package.
Looking back I'm not quite sure what to think of Dr. Stone. it's been a very interesting manga, had a good start but once it started putting the progression of science over character development I lost interest and it hasn't managed to regain that spark it had in the beginning. At the same time I'm happy we're getting this story that's all about celebrating science and human accomplishments. Maybe a bit simplified and zappy, but kids today deserve some of those messages. There's so many bad things out there it's easy to forget many of the amazing things humanity have done.
Top 5 manga rn. Might be cool if Why Man is an A.I. or is at least assisted by one.
I also don't mind the rushed speed. As others have pointed out the scientific development cannot carry the manga by itself or a longer period of time. It works marvelously though when paired with character development or plot progression, which is why right now it's fun to read the manga again.^^

Like what? I can't think of very much that won't be accomplished by their return and society going back to square one.

That's the thing, unless this is a very long final arc, I get the impression that the manga will be done once the Why Man fight is over. Like they might just time skip to society going back to square one instead.
Like what? I can't think of very much that won't be accomplished by their return and society going back to square one.
For some reason I actually also take this to be somewhat of Endgame material (unless of course there will be a plot twist that will make this a turning point in the series) if only for the reason that Why Man is the one that started it all. I would expect this guy/creature/machine to explain his reasons as to why this was necessary and that somehow he will have a point at that Senku will consider to be valid (even though he doesn't agree with the method). Plus I expect them to find more futuristic gadgets that will help to launch a new era of humanity while also trying to make things better in a way that Why Man or his kind won't feel the need to attack humanity again.
As I said, based on nothing but personal expectation of the motives.

At this breakneck speed I wouldn't be surprised if this series ends within the next 10 chapters, maybe 20.
That was a surprisingly fun chapter. I got a good laugh when Senku got to the washing machine.
The smartphone too, that was golden. The telephone strapped to the top was the cherry on top.
It does seem to be speeding up with no real character interactions outside of Mr. Greed.
I don't mind the pace at all. It was what I expected: with the first inventions being more detailed and the rest being easier to achieve especially with Xeno as an ally and access to the whole world.
I actually like this chapter in particular because it addressed that they took some shortcuts to reach their goals faster.
The speed at which science progresses across the series is also pretty realistic, slow in the beginning but the more tools, materials and manpower you unlock the faster you can go

I feel like it would have looked so much better if it was just the mass of medusas talking instead of the capsusle being used as a head. It looked goofy instead of mysterious, scary or anything that could have been the intention.
Was a little bummed over the true identity of Why Man, but the art and characters are winning me over. The authors are going all in, I like that.
That's the kind of reveal you need to wait one of more chapter to judge.
The art has been fantastic the last several chapters. I'm liking the reveal. Definitely want to see where this goes.
To be honest I'm more hyped for the next chapter than the previous one. That's the part of the mystery I cared about the most.
Also I just want to give the authors a huge thumbs up for how they've handled this mystery. It's been captivating enough to hold my attention even during the later arcs, the reveal is fantastic (even though I have my disagreements with what the reveal is) and they're just going all out. It's solid and it seems the series will be ending on a fantastic note. I don't think I've been this excited for the ending of a manga in a long time, the last series I've followed have been… shaky, to say the least.
