I was hoping this process would be a little faster, but that was wishful thinking. Tomorrow we're all going to wake up, and remember if we have to continue the American tradition of never, ever going to Alabama.
Also, someone made a gif of "man who doesn't know how Congress works," so I figure why not share it.
-
I watched that gif happened in real time, the dude was very capable of running his dumb mouth no matter what Tapper was saying to counter him, but the swearing on not-bibles thing genuinely just created this dead fucking silence. Dead gape mouthed fucking silence.
It was lol as hell. -
Cities have started to report in and the race is now tied.
-
Selma reporting in as 75% for Jones, which is fitting.
-
Too lazy to find the exit poll numbers and info, but the reason Jones is looking to win right now is because black turnout is up in insane numbers. This is the crucial demo for Democrats, not the white working class.
-
Jones is trailing by just 500 votes with just Democrat–leaning counties left.
glances at the 17,600 write-ins and smiles for once

Something like 25% of the state but 30% of the turnout today.
-
FOX called it for Jones. It's over.
Doug Jones (D-AL)
-
AP just called it for Jones
-
These fucking needles.
-
Doug Jones win baby.
Someone post the Twin Peaks Hello gif
-
-
Holy lol, oh lol of lols.
-
Pretty low standards for me to have any faith restored because a pedophile lost, but… That's the way our country is right now. What a relief.

Just to spell it out for us international people, by what margins do republican senators usually win by in Alabama?
-
I was about to go to sleep when I peeked at this thread.
Don't do this to me. I don't want to wake up and find out it's wrong. Did Alabama actually make us proud?
-
I bet you all the write-in votes are for Nick Saban.
-

Jeff Sessions won his last election in 2014 completely unopposed.
The last time Democrats held real power in Alabama is when being a Democrat meant being against anti-lynching laws.
-

Jeff Sessions won unopposed in 2014 (97.5%) and Trump won by 28 points in the presidential election.
-
Black demographic were the heroes today.
Learn a lesson, DNC, and kindly stop giving extraneous fucks about muh economic anxiety racist whites. -
If a Democrat can win Alabama, they can win fucking anything. Republicans must be shitting themselves in fear right now.

Bohohoho that’s amazing xD

Twenty to thirty points, provided they even draw an opponent.

In 2016, Shelby won 63% of the vote
In 2014, Sessions ran unopposed
In 2010, Shelby won 65% of the vote
In 2008, Sessions won 63% of the voteSo it's a pretty consistent +25 lean for the GOP.
-
Ya know what? We should have a recount. Hopefully nothing Alabama did can get in the way of that. :ninja:
Also, I'm glad to live in a world where Trump backed one GOP candidate, lost, then changed his mind and lost again. Trump looks like an idiot. How will he ever recover?
-
Mitch McConnell sits in front of his TV, head of lettuce dangling from his mouth mid-chew. His eyes slowly widen.

Damn xD this is pretty huge. Can’t wait to see the demographics of the voters who voted Democrat.

Fox goddamn News called it for Jones, you can sleep like a baby.
-
Color me actually surprised. I figured Alabama people were all in for their good ol boy no matter what. A small glint of hope.
-
Would pay to see ol' Roy boys reaction right now.

After the Virginia/Jersey debacle Republicans casually whistled as they retreated to a comforting happy thought of "eh whatever, those were blue/purple states that went for Hillary. Enjoy your nothing win libs.".
That security blanket was just violently wrenched from their beds and thrown in an incinerator.
-
The amount of write-ins is disappointing but hey hopefully most of them were from people who would've otherwise voted Moore.

They could've gotten away with "Well, he's a pedophile, anyone can win against that" if they didn't go back to fully supporting him a week before the election like the soulless cretins that they are. Complete self-inflicted wound, all to appease Dear Leader.

Yep, pretty much.
-
The Alabama win is surprising. Awesome. Hopefully the FCC vote goes well later this week. ( I could have sworn that was also today.)
According to CNN exit poll, 100% of write-in voters are white. APparently no one realized that write in votes only count if there's a write-in campaign.HOWEVER, ol' Turtle is up to his turtle tricks again.

He's not letting Jones in until the current session (and the corrupt tax plan) are done. Because obviously if he does they then have no chance of that shit going through. This is of course, entirely illegal and also what they did for the Supreme Court theft.
Hopefully Jones just walks into the senate and takes a seat regardless and dares them to tell him no. Even if he has to sit on the other guy's lap.
-
Woohoo! Doug Jones won! -shoots fireworks in the air- ^_^
-
Well, Alabama got a Democrat elected. And all they had to do was out his opponent as a pedophile.
-
Looks like fake news CNN has made a counting error.

Moore lost?!
-
100 million lols at this clown show:

-
There hasen't been a democrat in the Alabama Senate since 97 years, we just won Sessions old seat in a state that Trump won by 20 points last year with a candidate that is pro choice whom prosecuted the KKK.
-
I bet he didn't even write that.
-
@White:
I bet he didn't even write that.
He 100% didn't write that.
