I feel like Tetsuo as the runt given enormous power is lost a bit in the original, like he comes off that way at first, but too quickly he comes off as this badass confident dude with cool hair.
Eternally cast in the form of Milhouse, the character actually may function more correctly. -
The crazy thing is the fans have actually redrawn the entire manga.
Every single panel.
Including the crazy two page spreads of the city being blown up in the middle of the story
Okay, they haven't done volume 6 yet, but they've still done the first like, 1900 pages.

The great pleasure beyond even just the pics, is unavoidably hearing the dialogue in the Simpsons voices.

Yeah, this project's been around for a while. I actually have a print copy that includes snippets from the full thing bought maybe a year ago? It's pretty rad stuff.

I think only the first volume is like that, the others have it so the pages can be picked individually.

The only major let down so far was that the artists doing those few pages showing the average Tokyo/Springfield people starting their mornings before the city is ripped to pieces….didn't insert Hans Moleman talking about finishing paying off his car or something.
Alternative:
walks out door and sees enormous apocalyptic Akira orb growing on horizon
