I was wondering if anyone else here collected those randomly boxed, SD figures that pretty much come out monthly? The ones that come with white candy. I've been buying tons of those, but I've only ended up with extras and incomplete sets :glare: . I was hoping that I could trade my extras away for the ones I need….so anyone in the same situation?
One piece mini boxed figures?
-
-
Can't you pick what you want before buying so you won't get duplicates? Maybe I'm talking about different one… o.o?
I have... 4 or 5 of them but no duplicates
-
You can't do that if you buy by the case. I've sold all mine because I could get Eneru. I've been trying to stick to cards, but I did order a box of candy figures just yesterday. Which sets are you in need of?
-
Yeah, you can't pick which ones you get…for the Japanese ones anyway. For the Hong Kong reissues they tell you what figure is in each box, but I haven't seen any Japanese ones like that (for this particular set anyway). There are probably 10 lines or so of these figures..they're either called "one piece world" or "figure collection" in the title. Here's some pictures of mine:
I have about 40 in total (not including extras) but only one set is complete. The complete one is the Hong Kong reissue I mentioned. I'm mostly looking for the last two sets (the water seven one and the franky one). For each of them I bought about 13 figures, but for the water seven one I ended up with 6 doubles and for the franky one I ended up with 4 doubles. For each I was missing luffy and usopp too, I never seem to get those ones!
Here's a picture of the full water 7 set:
The ones I need are luffy, usopp, aokiji, and the whole bottom row except kaku. I've got extras of all of the straw hat pirates except luffy and usopp obviously, since I need those ones.
This is the franky set:
The ones I need are luffy, usopp (sigh) and kalifa. I have extras of robin, nami, chopper, and sanji. I also have various extras from other sets (from the first picture), so if anyone wants to trade please PM me :D.
I don't really collect the one piece cards, I hardly ever see them for sale. I do have some of the trading seals though..for the third set I just need two more specials. I also collect the mini cards that come with all of the SD figures.
Just wondering, but where did you order your sets? I always just buy them locally.
-
I try to collect those, but I don't have the opportunity to go buy them enough. I have to make excuses for myself to visit the asian market. I can only get the latest set that way anyway, though. They stop carrying the older ones. I have an Usopp and Porche from the DBF set, and I have a Sanji from the first W7 set. No duplicates yet.
-
just buy the whole set : x
or, if you're buying'em from those twist-open-egg things
and if your relative happen to own such a shop (like mine)
you just get to choose the ones you want ; P
(for free) kekekekekeke!!! -
Nah, they don't have the sets OR twist open egg thingies.
And I'm not related.
-
I bought two of them when I sent away for volume 8 english version. I figured getting a few helped to justify spending USD 5 postage on a volume they only discounted USD 3.
I guess the ones I got were the "water 7 series" described above. I got a Chopper (adorable) and an Ao Kiji (kinda creepy looking).
The sweets looked really non-appetizing, so I didn't even try and eat 'em.
The Chopper sits on top of my computer, but the Ao Kiji sits in its original plastic bag in the bottom of my desk hidden from my sight.
CD: Lucky if your market carries that stuff. My local asian supermarket, I can justify regular visits cos I like paratha (indian flatbread) and dutch-by-way-of-indonesian mousse mix they sell. You just need a food excuse to go there. Rice by the 20kg bag?
But they don't sell these, unless they're in the back where the video hire counter is. You'd think they're savvy enough businessmen to open an anime-manga counter if it's a salable trend.
I wish I could find the set which had the Arlong and Hatchi– it wasn't SD, from the pic of the Arlong figure I saw, and it was gyojinalicious.
-
Well, I do have food excuses. Pocky and mochigashi!
I'd buy other stuff, but a lot of it is in Japanese and I can't read it. XD

Woo Check Franky out!! So damn Cool!! ID do anything for that Franky-Fig!!XD

I have that Franky
and the Luffy too(bought last friday), but they´re the only OP figures I have. There´s a comic shop here that have all the collection

(for free) kekekekekeke!!!I think the only way to be guaranteed a set is to buy the whole box. You probably have to make sure it's from a whole box, otherwise if it's from several boxes you'll probably end up with a lot of the same figures. I think the distribution is like this: one full set + first 8 figures, since the more popular characters tend to be in the first 8. I've never been there when they opened up a new box, I have no idea what their shipping schedule is like, and they're not close enough to me for me to go that frequently =( .
Or I guess you could buy online, but all of the stores I've seen charge as much for shipping as the actual set. The set only retails for $10, but you'd have to pay like $40 if you went that route  .

We took a fresh box and worked our way through it. I needed everything, one guy needed a handful and one just wanted Nami for the most part. There were exactly two of each of the characters in the first two rows and only one each of the characters in the last row.
-
Damnit why didn't you ask this earlier?! (Like a couple months ago..) I had extras of Usopp and AoKiji… but I gave them away... wonder if I can go see if I can get'em back... oh I feel so bad. :glare:
I have 9 of the 12 out of 18 tries, 50% success rate isn't bad. I'm missing Paulie, Kaku and Chopper. I'll see if I can get any of them back... though I feel bad about taking gifts away... I'll have to see if I can give them something better in return.

Don't worry about it. I have spares of luffy, usopp, and aokiji to get rid of.

Woo, my guess was correct :D. Do you remember how the positioning was? Was it like in order from the picture, or were things random?
Whoa snow, you don't have to go that far, but thanks anyway
.
-
Oooh, I wants! :3
But I don't think we have an Asian store where I live. >.<
-
lol yeah I'm not that evil, but I really do want to finish up my collection. So anybody with spare Chopper, Kaku and Paulie. That they might possibly wanna sell or something?
-
I have a bunch from the old Skypiea Set and some from the Davy Back Fight. The Water 7 ones haven't made it here.. yet..

Thanks! I bought half of them locally and half of them online. I live in Canada, I kind of wish I lived in Japan solely for this purpose
. It's only a part of my collection, if you want to see the rest look at pages 5 and 6 of the 'one piece collectibles' thread
.
I finally got a picture of the figures from the franky set:
-
Those are so awesome. I guess I should take a trip to the Asian Market soon.
I need Water 7 adornments in my room.
Very nice collection, wildfury.
-
jaw drop
I really want that franky figure~ -

The best store I can recommend is wizzywig collectibles. They have the best selection! The other stores I've bought from didn't have a good selection. There are some asian stores that sell random boxed figures and whole sets, but they're kind of expensive.
-
can u give us the url. =D

This post is deleted!

Wizzywig are good. I've run into them at many a comic convention and I went up to visit the store this summer (why couldn't I have had a store like this at my school). Url is http://www.wizzywig.com/
@wildfury - I don't recall the positioning but I think that the good stuff came from the back three rows. Went a little randomly

I just went there. They have so many kickass things, but I didn't see Water Seven. Where is it that you got Water Seven?
-
I'll note the little W7 figures (someone posted a picture of the "checklist") are sold at discountanimedvd.com, where I bought my two. They're like a buck-ninety each, but postage from them seems to start at like 5 USD
That Franky thing is giving me nightmares.

Can you give me the actual link as to where they are? I don't see 'em…..

From wizzywig I bought those chopper and sanji bobblers, three packs of those sticker pull packs (still didn't get a full set! of the foils at least, and now I can't find where I placed the rest of them :o), that fishing luffy plush, then the rest was naruto stuff :D. I was collecting naruto stuff before my one piece phase, but now I've got a lot more one piece stuff.
I've gotten the recent boxed figures from my local candy shop.
Here's the link from the site mentioned above, but it looks like they're on backorder. I don't think they'll get anymore, I think bandai doesn't produce more of a line after it's run out:

Ah. They had them a few weeks ago, sorry.
-
Hidy, I got some figures today, I got almost the entire Franky set, only missing Chopper, and I have doubles of Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, and Nico. And I only have four of the Water 7 set(the one before the Franky set) Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, and Aokiji, I am willing to trade them, but only for Kaku or Paulie(since they're the only reason I bought boxes.)
Gunbunny -
Sorry, I don't have the extras you want. I only have one kaku for myself, and I'm missing the rest of the figures in the last row (for the water7 set). Would you be willing to sell any of your figures? I'm really interested in the luffy from the franky set. Please let me know.
thanks!
-
Yes, I would be willing to sell a few, drop me an email and we can work something out.

You bought the Water 7 figures off of Candyland? Where can I find them?
-
Hi,
Candyland is a physical store near me. So if you wanted to buy them there, you'd have to come here :). Besides that, they've been sold out a long time. I think I saw a set of the first 8 water7 figures on ebay for about $8, you can try checking there to see if the listing is still active. -

I see now. How do you order the one you want though? Or do they randomly give you one?
-
The whole point is it's "sort of random". People who have tested say that if you buy a full box, you'll get a complete set plus extras of the most popular characters reliably, but if you're grabbing a random package off a shelf, you don't know. I bought two, got an Ao Kiji and a Chopper.
-
Yep, what he said. The only way to get it for sure is to buy the entire box, or get one that's already been opened and identified. Good luck!
