is it just me or does Water7 (not including Enies Lobby) have the least replay value on an individual chapter/episode value of all the arcs? i'm not disputing it's collective replay value as it's a great arc, but individually it doesn't seem to bring that much weight to the table?
Replay Value Of W7

I'm one of those guys who likes to spend his afternoons rereading the entire series from ch.1-now. So everything in OP has great replay value to me.
-
It has great replay value to me, mostly because it was this arc that bought me back to OP due to my dwindling interest.
But still, I prefer Arlong Park arc a little more.
-
Not at all, maybe the Anime was…different though.
-
I know that I will enjoy reading the manga over and over again when this arc is over…
And the Anime has some really kick-ass moments, like the duel between Luffy and Usopp, plus the whole CP9 thingy.
-
i already reread the whole W7 arc at least 5 6 times so you know my point of view here.
-
w7 arc is a great arc I read it again just last week but Im not the type of guy to do thing's over again If i've done it once then im done
-
Actually, Water 7 so far is the only arc that I've gone back and re-read whole episodes and chapters just for the enjoyment (as opposed to finding information or making clips.

Seconded.

Water 7 isn't that action packed so it might not appeal to some of rereaders but that's what I love about it. I'm not a rereader type of person though - I prefer reading something new instead - so I haven't yet reread Water 7 but just revised some moments.

see you might have it there, theirs alot less glorious moments for me to get excited about, though i think the arc as a whole is great, if i just felt like reading one chapter i'd be stumped as theirs so little for me to gravitate towards in regards to my interest. in order to enjoy water 7 i have to read multiple chapters or watch multiple epsidoes as opposed to singular episodes.
though judging by what everyone else is saying, they seem to find the same faults, individually it lacks..
-
I suppose, but individually nearly anything in OP is crap. OP is a saga, a sort of modern (and funner) Oddesy, you can't piece it apart or there's naught but stupid.
-
I'm re-reading it. It's not QUITE as fun once you know all of the plot twists (and boy are there some plot twists), but I think it's got some re-reading value. I've watched Ep. 233 several times. Mostly because I don't have the next one…

The Water 7 arc is my favorite arc of all of them, so I adore watching the episodes over and rereading the chapters. I love the characters that were introduced and the actual city of Water 7 just strikes me as being absolutely gorgeous. :)

Water7's lack of fighting made it so wonderful.
Its stuff like that sets One Piece apart from certain other shonen…...things like whitening fluid...and japanese whirlpools.... -

I agree completely. I've read through Water 7 several times and watched the episodes multiple times. It just hooked me, and I think its one of the best parts of the series.

Water 7 is the only manga arc I'd consider rereading..
-
individually it lacks..
Well, I wouldn't say 'lacking'. At least not more than in any other arc but just unfitting for action junkies.
Generally, a chapter of One Piece covers around nine minutes of live action. Think of your favourite 45 minutes TV show, X-Files or Sex in the City or whatever, five chapters of One Piece makes 45 minutes - a volume is two episodes.
And that's fast phased. Although it might not be enough for the MTV generation but at least it's still more than enough for me - perhaps even too much. Sure you won't expect something groundbreaking in every ninth minute of your favourite TV show. Or in every third page of your favourite book.
Hell, I'm happy even if absolutely nothing happens in a chapter, or in an episode, as long as it's good and entertaining. And here's where Water 7 succeeded. I would see myself rereading the arc more often than the other arcs - if I would reread, that is.
Also I guess if Water 7 was your first arc that you followed in weekly basis you might feel different about it.

It is nice to take a breather every now and then, though.

Death to Whitening Fluid!
You broke my heart Kubo Tite!!=(NO! KIBOTITE ROCKS!
Then again, I've only read 1-144, and that was back in January. For all I know Bl- Err, whitening fluid sucks now.
Never liked whirlpools much, anyway.

The man can draw. And make things hip.
But he can't tell a story involving the Shingami arc…
