@Greg:
I browse parts of the forum all the time. Just not logged in.
A good Samaritan let me know about the shit festival going on in here this time and it was worse than I thought.
So glad none of these people can ever affect the story-line in any way.
Given how heated emotions are getting in this thread, I decided to peruse it and see just where all this vile, negative nonsense started, specifically using the Cracker fight as a case study.
As fruit of my research, I present the extent full, dire scope of the Negative Elements within this thread:

@Phoenix:
Well that was anti-climatic. Luffy's longest fight in the series and it ended like that.
Note: Presented here are just the subjects first posts on the matter, but Phoenix Zoan went on to never even acknowledge the climax as a neat idea, or funny in any way, being an immovable grandstander instead.
@Daz:
Yeah, chalk me up as one of the people this didn’t really work for. The conclusion is imaginative, memorable and neat, as is Nami helping Luffy, but corners were cut to get there. This is a case where I’d have preferred a “11 hours earlier” flashback to show those corners. Specifically I would have liked to see the moment where the fights dynamic changed; I would like to see Luffy coming to a realization and eating the first soldier and Crackers annoyed surprise. I would have liked to see Nami showing up at a crucial moment and figure out the weakness instead of just characters directly expositing that this thing happened: show, don't tell. A Luffy fight becoming an eating contest is a fun concept, and at least a montage of Luffy gorging himself on increasingly numerous and elaborate biscuit structures would’ve been a novel way of doing fight-escalation. You don’t need to skip straight to the endpoint.
Plus, the truncated format of the fight –both in terms of the preceding chapters and this chapter itself- just end up reducing the impact of the big finale. The only buildup we get is Cracker making some soldiers that get eaten before they do anything, and then Cracker gets repelled after lunging at Luffy. In terms of composition its just very “stop and go”, which is a shame, since the initial battle against that one Biscuit Soldier had some kinetic, flowing choreography.
The lack of comparative impact also comes from Crackers character itself being largely forgettable. His personality wasn’t fleshed out into something memorable (his pride in Biscuits could’ve been an obvious route to take; maybe have him be conflicted about the fact that Luffy is enjoying his “art”), and he’s quite removed from the emotional core of the Sanji drama we just spent several chapters establishing. Cracker was in the end just an obstacle; someone to go “No, I won’t let you do that” and little more. In that regard he’s comparable to someone like Wanze, but Wanze had at least had a ton of personality, and wasn’t a top Emperor officer.
@sggupta:
i have to say i agree.i really thought we are gonna get to see when nami got to know about the weakness of Cracker,or when luffy began eating the biscuit soldiers.as it is,it feels we have missed the important changing points of the battle.most importantly,how luffy avoided the after-fatigue of gear fourth.he may have cancelled it,but then again we haven't really seen that happening

Exactly this. I like what Oda had in mind for the end of the fight and how Cracker powers would be surpassed, but the way it was handled had me with a "meh" face by the end of the chapter.
@Kaido:
To all the wedding fanboys who wanted the wedding to get here fast…11 hours have been skipped over, and this is what we're left with. Are you happy now? Are you more excited now that your precious wedding is so much closer?
Don't get me wrong, overall I really liked the fight and its conclusion, and I wouldn't want to see the entire 11 hour battle onscreen, but I do agree that too much was skipped. Let the arc go at its own pace, like Dressrosa, and soon the butthurt fanboys will die down.

I wasnt a huge fan of this fight, i didnt think it was the right place for a gag fight.

This Luffy vs Cracker fight started well but skipped too much middle ground, though the ending was good it would have been better if we saw some of the key moments in the 11 hours of fighting.

As for Cracker, while the idea of how he was taken down was interesting and it was kind of neat, the problem is the victory has little impact. At most I was supposed to hate the guy because of what he said about Sanji, and the fact that he's supposed to be a big name in the crew. With so little development of him I had little reason to be happy that he was taken down, and as Daz pointed out cutting out a chunk of the fight downplays the threat Cracker was supposed to present.

As you can see, none of these individuals even entertain the notion that theres anything good about this fight and its conclusion. Its all just unconstructive “Lol, fight sucked!” nonsense.
In contrast, none of the people who liked this fight overall had any misgivings of any kind, just pure positivity.

@Metamario:
I will say I loved the ending of Luffy vs Cracker, but I do have to agree with Daz's thoughts on the matter.

HacheBe ] Lol I really liked the ending to this fight. That being said, and someone else mentioned this, it seems like Oda is not taking his usual time on these things that he usually does.
For instance there should have been 3 or 4 more pages with Luffy eating a cracker and Nami figuring out the water weakness.
@Seafarer33:
What a great way to end the chapter ! Sooo much more One Piece than just hard punching. ![](file:///C:\Users\JVON0011\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.png) I do however subscribe to what Daz had to say about the timing of the fight and Oda's choice to omit some key moments.
@retro:
Hmm not bad. Not the way I envisioned the fight ending but sometime that's a good thing and Oda's good at thinking outside the box. I was wondering if Nami was gonna contribute or not and well yeah she did and Crackers defeat was both due to his own arrogance and Luffy's ingenuity. So no I don't have any complaints how it ended. So yeah Luffy didn't beat him on his own but this series has made it clear that Luffy can't do everything on his own half the time (he even admitted in Arlong) so I'm not angered on that. Though yeah the whole 11 hour thing was a ridiculous way to keep Luffy out of the way before the wedding. Couldn't just have him beat Cracker then get captured by another of Big Mom's forces and put in the dungeon or something?
@Auem:
Cracker had been underwhelming from beginning to end,so it is good that he is now out of the picture.I am looking forward to Big Mam-Vinsmoke meeting.
@BatrozX:
I understand what Daz is saying and can't say I disagree with it even though I really enjoyed the fight.
@Aldia:
Nice chapter, so Luffy could enter and then out from his G4 form whenever he wants without needing to reach his limit? cuz otherwise that wouldn't make any sense, other then that it's very clear what happened during that time skip and I wouldn't like to see it taking part of chapter, it would be so annoying. Anyway that's really impressive, it's just shows how different One Piece then any other shounen, that's what we used to get from Oda, whenever Luffy fight against a strong antagonist you wouldn't know who was the strongest, that's Oda's way to give the antagonist what he deserves without wronged him.. but still, there's those people who still thinking about Luffy is as weak as before the time skip, going around calling everyone who's defeated by him are weak
Cracker puppets were overpower no doubt about that and it's served him right as one of the Yonko's commanders, but that's it? he was totally depending on his DF and without even awaking it.. and what about that sword isn't it a special one? was it just for show? that's the only thing that disappointed me from this fight, but I dunno..
@Parklane21:
I'm not gonna be online for a while due to life, and it's a great timing with the 1-week break. I just wanna say that this chapter is awesome. It's like One Piece going back to its roots. I also kinda expected a flashback of the 11-hr battle, but this exposition through dialogues is fine too. I just take it as a positive sign for Oda, that he has a lot of ideas for this arc that he can't wait to execute soon. Totland does have a lot of plots going on. At least that is one battle wrapped up.
…
The problem of not having that flashback of the 11-hr battle is that we got many questions still unconfirmed. Like, how did Luffy managed his gear 4 drawbacks and is Cracker DF awakened. Also, I'm pretty sure not all of the battle are boring parts. I definitely want to see the first time Nami arrived and save the day with her rain, and how Cracker chopped off King Baum's top.

Seperating these two groups was quite easy, so divided and extreme was the responses to the chapter
In short, truly this thread has been a cesspool of unconstructive negativity and stupidity. What a total shitshow. So many damn idiots who HATE fun and want fights to take a million chapters in succession should just go read Bleach so we can have a fucking nice non-aggressive environment. I mean Jeez.
Switching sarcasm off for a moment, the only negative post I’d consider unconstructive is the one made by Screwtape 12 pages in,

Normal people: Da #$%^ is dis? One of the four most powerful pirates right hand lost like that? Corny comedy is OK during the match but the climax? This ain't foxy.
Oda's underwear folders: U r so stupidz, can't you tell, that genius writing of Oda, he magnificently made an yonko's right hand look incompetent by abandoning his plan to let Luffy eat till he explodes. While not focusing on getting rid of nami and the homies protecting her by keeping luffy busy with his original plan. Instead contradicts himself by attacking luffy. Cuz Luffy said he couldn't eat anymore. Ha! Fooled him! Look how smart Oda makes a high caliber fighter look! Go watchz bleachz, u always want serious things happening at the right timez. learn da lawz like sanji did since before the dinosaurz!!!

Which is not as much because of its content, but its aggressiveness towards OP fans. So that’s 1 post in a whole thread to get worked up over guys. Maybe don’t gear up the Stupidity Signal?

Exactly.Doesn't he know that the importance his work plays in improving social mentality and and how the traditional gender roles need to be killed desperately?they are only the second biggest evil since ISIL.
"I know this is an issue, but is it the BIGGEST issue? No? Then it doesn't matter, and any desire for the issue to be handled is irrelevant until the BIGGER issues are all handled"
Personally, I'm waiting on the pavement on my home road to be fixed, but I dare not raise the topic. I mean, theres bigger evils in the world.
