I'll never get into how . . . "cartoonish" the author draws Krone.

Yeah. It kinda reminds me of how they portrayed black characters back in the 1900s.
Based on the comment from Neverland's editor, it looks like Escape arc going to end by volume 3 (which is pretty near now). After the Escape arc, Neverland will become adventure series.
Nice. Will we gonna have swords and laser blasts or some shit like that?

lol. She's like a cartoony fusion of Canary and Tsubone (Killua's attendants) from HxH

That is exactly what I thought when I first saw her. The art in this manga reminds me a lot of HunterxHunter. It is really expressive.

It isn't just the art - the calculating but lovable characters, the slow-then-fast pacing, the emphasis on character-voice expository prose, it all owes a lot to HxH.

Neither would I, but I'm actually liking her more.
Interesting chapter. So, we now know exactly how Mama are selected. How about the boys though? What happen to them? They have to have some use aside from breeding…
Neither side trust each other. It will be an interesting "internal battle".
The thing is I don't disagree with Sister Krone. Either die or become a mama. Both option are terrible in their own way. But becoming a Mama is the better poison. You can't run from the demons. Even if you did, you can't guarantee your survival. After you become a Mama, they can kill you in any moment notice with the chip. Sure, living a fake cozy life where you are breeding child is terrible but this is reality. I'm sure Isabella and other mama have contemplate escaping this cruel cycle but they ultimately can't because they are powerless.
someone posted this on 4chan and I thought it was cool so I'm reposting it here
if read the numbers on the humans from right to left you can see that's there are a pattern and the older the human the smaller the number
I wouldn't call it "a pattern", it's their serial number, it's expected to keep growing, the information that we can extract out of it is the size of the generations or "shippings".

You could probably extrapolate to see how many other such farms there are (assuming a roughly uniform distribution of kids from farm to farm, a fairly large assumption). If we knew the time between The Event (it's in books) and now (is the current year available?) we could see how many generations it's been I guess.
Still don't know where the breeding grounds (or wherever the kids come from) are. Guess it's good that there's plenty to flesh out story-wise.
A random thought…
What if all the human plantations are placed in close proximity with one another? (But not close enough to be neighbour)
Basically, Farm 1, Farm 2, Farm 3 etc are all located in the same area (perhaps even a fenced up compound) which would make it much easier for the demons to collect all the goods from different farms. It is also good security measure as the livestock can't run far.
If there were the case, that will make running away from their farm much harder...
Put them in a desert, in an island in a lake, in another island, in rusia.

Why is she referring to the demons as "them"? maybe they're aliens?
still don't understand what kinds of "evidence" would sister krone need

they can also been monsters from what they know..i mean they called them demons but in the end are just some kind of creature that it's not human..they didn't show any kind of otherwordly power for what i can remember
Volume 1 extras + Jump Cross omake
Could it be that Mama is on their side and actually wants to escape with them?
Could it be that Mama is on their side and actually wants to escape with them?
Can't be due the device she has on her heart, remember? Also why should she start wanting to escape now or wanting some of her kids to escape given she has sent dozens or hundreds of kids to their death already? I rather think she wants Emma to become a Mama but Emma is too kindhearted (yet) for that job so she has to break that part of her child. For which she is using their escape plan to hammer it in that there is no escape, only death or servitude.
The Omake was funny and adorable, no wonder Norman fell for Emma, what a funny and easy-going sunshine. <3
I laughed at how Emma always pointed at little Ray for being the one who gave her all those ideas. xD
Also those Nee-sans of theirs were really cute and pretty, too bad they are dead by now or young Mamas themselves.
We don't know what Mama wants, and also crone could easily be lying about the chip in order to protect her own life, her scar could be from something else or fake.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
If I got it right, boys might get sent to farm for food I guess.
Are we still on break?
the break is over
it's just that mangastream like to release this on Mondays

what's written in the note? what's written in the letter?
Why didn't Isabella suspected why Ray wanted a photo camera?
Mama is creepier than Sister Krone. That is all.

Most likely that Isabella wasn't born in a farm since she was supposedly born before the demon invasion happened. That's something Krone could confirm by checking the records and use against her, since she could be a potential spy for the outside.
Some spoilers are out.
! Looks like Krone got killed by the demons. RiP Krone, I gonna miss your RAPE faces. Also the kids plan to escape tomorrow.
ups wrong thread lul
Nice knowing ya, Krone.

Interesting, wonder what the pen does.
Feel bad for Krone, but at least she gave the kids a mcguffin as a parting gift.
Nice knowing ya, Krone.

was it nice? was it really?
I'd say this is a turning point in this manga. And yes, Krone and her shenanigans were one of the most entertaining factors of this first part. RIP big girl.
Can't wait to see the actual resistance.
What a weird way to kill people. Never seen demons kill someone with flowers.
Kurama did it all the time in Yu Yu Hakusho.
Oh yeah, forgot about that one.
One interesting thing is that the demons seem to use males not just for breeding. Gotta admit that I enjoy Neverland quite a lot. I just hope it won't turn into a pure action series without much strategy. Would be kinda sad cause the kid's strategic thinking is a nice change to the stuff I read and watched these past couple weeks.
Cool chapter, but…
I'm kind of lost on why the higher-ups sent Krone there in the first place. They must have known she was ambitious, and would hinder Isabella more than she would aid her. They gained absolutely nothing from having her there, and ended up having to kill her when the whole situation could have been avoided. Seems like a lousy waste of a capable employee.
Also, is there some speculation that the little smiling kid (Phil) is secretly a demon? I remember it was brought up in an earlier chapter as a joke, but he's just too prominent for a random, seemingly insignificant character.
look at Phil's shadow
!
Great, now Grandma AND Phil are super creepy.

You have to keep that meat nice and terse.

She was simply a distraction for the kids.
All that's left is Isabella and Phil lol.
It's time.
This…..is a very good story. The whole just keeps constantly turning on itself, and yet I don't feel like anything is lost.
Awwwwww . . . shit just hit the fan.
! Although one thing confuses me: if all those big kids ganged up on Mama, couldn't they take her down?
She knows judo, I doubt it.
I'm always worry when a mystery/thriller/prisoner escape/detective story is this good. Because it always tend to suck after a while…
I hope this is the exception. But i didn't like the purpose of Krone's death...
