Something needs to happen fast. If chapter 6 is another "lets think how to get out of here" chapter, this is going to become very boring very fast. The kids need to take action fast. It was very dumb to not include more kids in the plan, or at least attack mama at some point, seeing as there are no demons around.
As long as there is tension and interesting strategies it's fine by me if the escape takes some time, but this chapter was dumb. Mama put the kids to do chores. They figured it was a plan to rob them of time so that they can't advance the escape plans. In reality, mama was stalling to get more help. Not only is this too simple for a whole chapter of faux deduction, but they even had to conclude that mama wanted them to think she was stalling them for one reason instead of other, and the actual goal was to throw them off after being days wondering about her motives. If the author is going to pass nonsense as multiple layers of thinking/strategy, a faster pace won't help.

Question: What exactly are people expecting this manga to be?
Because I see a lot of comments like Ben´s, which seem like people are assuming that the kids will escape the orphanage pretty quickly and the big focus of the manga will be in what they will find once they get to the "outside".
I´m expecting the opposite actually. I think a very big chunk of the plot will be about escaping the orphanage. Something like 50/50 between both parts of the story I guess. Kind of like Prison School.
^Good luck surviving in Jump with that premise.
You do realize Prison School and this is extremely different right?

I really hope not. With the way it is going so far its going to get really boring keeping them in the orphanage.

The only thing this has in common with Prison School is the escaping part. The way this is set-up right now, interaction is basically limited to the three main characters.

Yeah, I forgot this was Jump.
But I´m not really trying to compare it to Prison School. I just used that example to show that a manga with a limited "scenario" at first can be well done. But Pat also has a point. Prison School worked because there were a lot of relations between prisoners, guards and regular students.
This manga is limited to the main 3 + Mama.
The manga can grow in scope whenever it needs, if it's pacing itself inside the orphanage still, then it's doing ok.
I find it entretaining.
Mama Isabella knew from the beginning and the second is basically backup to get rid of them. Isabella isn't aware that Ray is in the know too, that's probably going to turn into a factor.

agree.i quite like it too.
and the new chapter is out.frankly at this point the escape seems improbable.also we learn that probably all the adults under the monsters scored full marks.that must mean they must eat everyone except the ones who scored full marks, and somehow force them to work under them.
but also,a lot of more questions are raised.Krone says she is glad to be back here.Back from where?and she is not a mama, only a helper.yet she scored full marks every day.so it seems they distinguish people even after the initial 11 years.
and mama says she has an idea of who they are.considering that whoever it was has succeeded to stay hidden, she must know that most probably it has to be the 100% scoring kids.maybe she's even deduced that 2 of them will ask the third kid.
the other kids are starting to get suspicious, that's not good
ch 7

there are grandmas now?
Makes sense, having the the triangle of the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone and all that jazz.
Demons my boys! Where have you been?!
Great. Another manga with a name that cannot be pronounced.
Sister Krone´s facial expressions remind me of something I would see in HunterxHunter.
We should also have a poll regarding what we call the unpronounceable demon.
I propose Abaj.
If this was a western comic, I think Krone's design could be considered racist, but I am no art expert.
About a name, how about Beelzeboss?
Every chapter: think observe ANARLYZEEE UGHHH
Yep 11 year Olds against Demons. Sounds about right
Finally caught up! This is such a good story, it stands out from many other manga. Like how the story is slow but doesn't drag things out (for now), focusing on a single orphanage instead of country/city/school X, and taking the "Human civilization isolated from a dangerous world" setting without making it another Attack on Titan copy.
As for Krone, whether her design would come off as racist or not will depend on the looks of future adults. Right now she comes off as very "rough" because she's more detailed than Isabella and the children (and has a completely different body type), but if future adults (like Granny) have the same style then it'll even out. I just hope she'll actually manage to trick Isabella, or at least stand on even ground with her. It'd be too predictable if Isabella outsmarts Krone and kill her.
And the demon's name… the first letters looks like "IL" so I'll vote for that.
It could be Ipos/Ipes, who was a theological demon that knew the past and future.

Well, it is 11 year olds with an IQ of 300 which had an upbringing that consists of having a test everyday which would make Tokyo University students panic. So yeah, makes sense to me. Have spend several years in school with twins which had an IQ of 160 and lemme tell you those guys were the most serious logical thinking people I've met in my life. With 16 they made their own enterprise and brought and sold bonds on the market while the rest of us were busy with parties, girls and other stuff. I wouldn't wonder if 11 year olds with such a smart brain in their heads which gets tested everyday with difficult question can work very well when confronted with a reality that they gonna get eaten if they don't manage to escape.
Like Ray coming up with the conclusion that if nothing else works, they gotta kill Mama. At least that is how I interpreted his silence while showing the fork.

Sounds cool to me, a pretty powerful demon as endboss.
What I liked about this chapter was the many tidbits we got, like
All in all a very informative chapter with Krone getting all Hisoka-rapey-face like and the kids getting a step closer to finding a way to escape. Maybe glasses girl can become another ally or she might become a problem. Given that only she and Emma were chosen to take care of the little girls I think one of them might be considered possible "Mama" material by the demon/Isabella/Grandmother overseer. I could see a future chapter where glasses gets put before the choice to help mama capture the bad kids and get a recommendation to become Mama herself and live or deciding to help despite putting her own life at a big risk.
I vote for Stu for the last demon's name.
So, how many kids are going to get killed in this escape scenario. The fact that the MC is holding a baby that is probably not going to make it, is really bleak.
Unless human society exist nearby, they can't carry 9 toddlers around without a destination. They are going to leave behind or lose a lot of kids.
Have the kids undergo secret training just to see how likely a full blow escape actually could be is a smart move. Too bad sister caught on somewhat, she's pretty serious about their capture lol.
When Emma was wondering if they could outrun the demons, I guess she forgot about the heavy breathing equipment they have to wear when not in their dimension/domain. It's a pretty safe bet that because of that, they'd be pretty easy to outrun on Earth.

in the mid-bottom panel, sister notices the glasses girl is acting strange.she probably asked the glasses girl what's wrong, and she probably told her how emma is acting weird after that night.game over

Not necessarily Over.
Sister will not report any findings to Mama so she can try getting the upper hand on her and that will eventually be her undoing.

yeah,i'm just exaggerating.frankly, the main problem with this i see is they have set-up this super intelligent villain, and now there's sister as well.not to mention the all-powerful demons, their whole situation is pretty bleak.how are they gonna setup the escape as possible and difficult, without any deus-ex machina?if they do it properly,i'll just like this series even more.
also,i don't think that the trackers are booby trapped.i mean,if there was the potential for such featurs, why not just have them identify each of the kids separately?the trackers seem really old and basic,so i don't think that it would have any alarms or stuff.but as emma pointed out,the physical injury would be hard to hide.and i wonder how dark are they gonna get with the tone.i really like how the kids are presented as likable while still being children-like,so i don't wanna see too much blood or gore
Neverland going to have a CP on Issue 45 of Shounen Jump. So, we can assume that this series is safe for a while.
catched up to chapter 8…a couple of things on the last chapter
-i don't understand why they think the tracker is supposed to notified when broken if they JUST said a couple of seconds before that "mama" always checks their ear to see if the transmitter is ok...if the transmitter could have some problems AND have a notification system for when it ceases to work, she wouldn't have any reason to check them physically every day
-while the training by tag thing might be kind of smart, it raises two problems. the first is that since "mama" is still trying to find them, them suddenly starting to add everyone to their tag games, including those who cannot run well at all it's incredibly suspicious. Also,i very much doubt that training is enough to make little children run decently...it's something they learn with time no matter how much you make them run..my little nephew runs around all the time but it's not getting any faster and his tecnique any better, and it's normal until he gets a little bit older.
She could just be checking if its still there, it migth be unable to check lifesigns, and if carefully removed could be unable to retransmit.
The training I suppose that it's "better than nothing".
I'm guessing there might be a difference if the Kids break the transmitters and if they remove them intact. It could be that Mama checks on them just in case an intact transmitter accidentally fell out. Still, it's a good point that it makes little sense.
A more ridiculous theory is that Mama recharges the transmitters when she touches their ears.
Mama probably participated or thwarted an escape attempt in the past.
Dude, this chapter.

I feel like there were a couple of missing pages, or text bubbles.
^I assumed Norman jumped from a cliff to another cliff
while the sister jumped from the cliff to the ground
The suspense is rising.
This chapter was unnerving. Them killing Sister Krone does sound like the best strategy, but I don't like how calm Norman is about it. And you just know something is going to go wrong with the escape attempt. The question is what.

yeah..we passed from "we have to escape and try to survive" to "let's kill that bitch in cold blood" way too fast..they are really intelligent but we are still talking about children..a bit of hesitation at the idea to kill another human being,no matter how evil, would have been better..at least more human.
And i'm not saying that they are wrong,it's definitely a sound strategy,if they can make it happen, safer than try to escape both adults at the same time
When sister basically figured out who two of a the suspects were and then we got the panel with the glasses chick, I got chills.
Something will go horrible wrong because of her won't they?
Also to kill someone at a young age… very smart but I don't feel like they'll go through with it.
Eagerly awaiting the escape now.
I think Emma will stop Ray and Norman before they can kill anybody, I doubt she wants them to become killers/murderers for freedom. At the same time I'm sure those two boys will do whatever is neccessary to get everyone out there alive, even if it come at the expense of somebody's life, preferably the enemy's one. Escaping with the little kids and babies will be hard enough, they can't have pursuers like Krone after them when their escape gets found out.
! not sure i understand why,if mama really already knows who they are, would let them plan freely…i mean ok,she is convinced that she has everything under control...but not doing anything when she can easily make things even harder doesn't seem too smart
http://mangastream.com/r/neverland/010/3728/2
Emma knows a fucking mole is Ray…I think.
glasses girl have been acting suspicious these past chapters, my money is on her being the traitor
Damn. So we got a snitch and an all knowing mama? This escape is looking sweet!
This new arc has me hyped. Can't wait to see what happens next!
I wonder… the escape date might be a trap set by Norman to weed out the snitch, or a way to make sure Ray isn't the mole. By telling a specific number of people about it, if Mama gets wind of the date then he'll know the snitch is among those people.
Maybe, maybe not. But I'm very curious about Norman, it's almost like he's run into Mama's more darker sides before.
This is one of the most suspenseful mangas I've ever read. The fact that it's children makes it even more suspenseful.
