Does any one here knows how can I upgrade my 4.2.2 to 4.4 so I can play Pokémon when it comes out over here? I already have it rooted, and I read somewhere that you can upgrade rooted devices, but I found nothing helpful in the internet.

It depends on what model phone you have, you'll have to install a custom ROM, the most popular one being CyanogenMod, which are often on higher android versions. Let me know what phone model you have and I can check out if it's available for your phone

Sadly I can't find anything on the biggest android rom site (xda), so it looks like you're probably out of luck… You can always try installing the game anyway, using the .apk file found here:

            http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/niantic-inc/pokemon-go/pokemon-go-0-29-2-release/pokemon-go-0-29-2-android-apk-download/

(download it straight from your phone) and see if that works for you?
If not you're probably out of options, other than buying a new phone… sorry!

I don't know exactly what device you're using but i find this topic from XDA forums, i think it may help
                http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507557 (this is modded versions)

The third version updated Google Play Store so i hope you can find your game from here. If you still can't get Pokemon Go from Play Store, you can go to http://choilieng.com (another website for downloading apps/games directly from Google Play store)

                Good luck!
