Big Mom's devil fruit power is interesting and terrifying, yet I was disappointed by it because I do not believe that she will use that technique on Luffy which makes it kinda useless and not that impotent, but I still believe in Oda and hopes that he will prove me wrong!

FINALLY! This chapter took eternity to come out! I seem to recall another chapter recently did too…jeez it's difficult to wait so long to get my One Piece Fix! Alright, let's check it out.
So people whom were saying she was calm of Big Mom's wrath in the earlier part in the story "due to the fact she's Big Mom's daughter and wouldn't harm family" has just been thrown out the window! Now we see this side to her...frankly I hate it. It's not funny but I guess it's not meant to be. It's to set all aside and show that Big Mom is genuinely a crewl, evil person. To blame her bad behavior on hunger like that shows sign of a truly selfish person. (Though I guess it exists in real life. My wife is the only person I've ever met in real life to get crabby when she's hungry and since she swears there are other people who do too, though I've never met them.)
Jinbei saving the day was quite surprising, though. Now Jinbei has to announce his intention to join the Strawhats..this could get ugly. I wonder if he'll outright say it, or be more clever about it and try a plan to sneak his way around it. hmm

My heart goes doki doki - I still say red herring. I doubt BM will really be that furious if Jinbe leaves. The fact Lola gave Luffy the vivre card and expected it to be enough for him to get her mother's help suggest her departure was not traumatic. She left in good terms with her mother/BM.

The last page makes it clear that Jimbe can't just quit Big mom.
So either luffy has to make a deal with her( but what deal can you make with someone that kills her own son? even if lola is her daughter how much can she do?) and there is also the gift bomb.
It kinda looks like luffy will have to beat Big mom this arc. She doesn't seem like the person that you can make deals with, Jimbe can't leave if she is not defeated. Even if they somehow escape, he knows she will take her revenge on fishman island.

Man, she just iced her son. And those sentient cream puffs don't look like they are coming back. Also, given that she extracted his "life force" I have doubts he's going to be brought back given that his soul should have departed his body by now. Of course, that's assuming he's actually dead and doesn't wake up later on, revealing he still has a sliver of life span.
Some have said that Luffy will be immune, but I have a hunch that Brook may be the one immune to her power, given that he appears to have no set lifespan as a reanimated corpse. That or he could manipulate his own life force to return to him.
Hard to say exactly what her power is at this point. The whole life force extraction could be a byproduct of a different power, similar to Kuma "extracting" Luffy's pain. Also it is not shown what happens to it after it is extracted. Presumably it dissolved into nothing, but perhaps she absorbed it. Which could explain why she has had so many children in her lifetime–she's hundreds of years old by taking in the life force of others.

Super psyched to have Jinbe back in the story, oh my lord. I've been waiting for him to show up since the arc started. Interesting that he gave the Poneglyph to Big Mom. I guess they're gonna make two copies, one for each Poneglyph? That or somebody's gonna mess it and copy the Poneglyph Jinbe brought and not the Road Poneglyph.

I mean, it doesn't really matter in the context of the manga. The movie's not gonna be canon. Plus, he made a little cameo in Dressrosa. Other characters like Coby, Kizaru, and Sakazuki all had their post-timeskip debuts in Film Z, so it's not like stuff like this hasn't already happened before.

What if Big Mom is an experiment that went wrong and she ended up huge like the kids in punk Hazard? They had an eating disorder too, or a craving for something because they were addicted to it. It's weird that Caesar is tied to this maybe he's the only one who can cure her madness but the fact that he needs "time" and BM doesn't give people time is what made him flee with the money she gave him. It does appear that she can take life out of things and insert them into inanimate objects. Probably why the whole country is so animated.
One thing's for sure, she's cray cray.

Guys has anyone mentioned that her Cravings are actually because she's a pregnant woman? Pregnant women are known for having very specific cravings when pregnant, and for having big mood swings if said cravings aren't satisfied. Oda is probably just playing further into the 'Mom' theme by upping her 'pregnant woman cravings' to the n'th degree

But craving a very specific food is characteristic of pregnant women, is it not? Considering she's had 80+ kids, seems reasonable that she's be always pregnant. So her eating disorder might just be pregnancy cravings.

Neat cover with the Straw Hats as frogs, too bad Luffy wasn't one too.
Always nice to see Nami flex her navigator muscles, she avoided getting the ship spotted by those tracker sea slugs, and suddenly they have the element of surprise again.
If I wasn't already sold on Linlin as a character, having her go on a city smashing rampage would've sealed the deal, what a delightful formal introduction. It's really telling how strong her influence is, the general populous are not only familiar with her lashing out, they're willing to put up with it. It's interesting, after Jimbe stops her the citizens don't appear to be upset, grateful to Jimbe and relived their lives are no longer in jeopardy sure, but nobody appears to hold ill will towards Big Mom. Strange.
I really like how her power seems to deal directly with life, being a mother herself it's fitting in a creepy way, having the first person we see fall victim to it be her own son was a great touch too, it carries the whole motif from last chapter with all that we learned about the Charlotte bloodline, and shows how well founded Pudding's fear of her mother is.
Jimbe stopped Big Mom like it was his day job lol. I look forward to more interaction between them.
Hopefully this Jinbe episode continues so we get to see whether Big Mom really is a monster or if there's a more sensible side to her.

I didn't have high expectations on Big Moms design, but she's possibly become one of my favorite characters design-wise. I like how she and Kaido stand out so much yet are completely badass.

I wonder if next chapter will continue right from this conversation or will we get a random panel at the end of another chapter of Jinbe souless and/or imprisoned somewhere? I just want to hear what Jinbe's plan is. Not to mention what it's called. Leave the Big Mom's but allow his crew to stay with her or leave the Big Mom's and just tell his crew to go live on Fishman Island? You think any of his mates like Alladin or Popeye Quadruple Anchor Arms even have a about that would keep them from residing on Fishman Island comfortably? I feel like as long as Jinbe isn't there then any of his crew who only want to live a life peace could easily just stay out of the public eye when marines or government officials come around. I'm sure the local government run by the Neptunes would be happy to have them back. I think.

Yes. This ark will not involve a massive battle at the end of it, but rather a massive eating contest between Luffy and Big Mam. Their pride as the biggest eaters of the New World is at stake, their crews are on the line. Bring it on.
Blackbeard may also show up at some point, to claim his place as the biggest pie eater in the NW, upsetting Big Mam and Luffy's contest and forcing them to fight together.
Fittingly, Sanji and Pudding will be the chefs for the contest, cementing them as the biggest ship One Piece has had to date.
