There's no direct connection, other than Sanji was taken on Zou and then brought to Whole Cake. The link would probably just be Zou being Pekoms homeland, giving a justifiable reason to have him there and leading to his allying with Luffy to get to big mom.

Her being a chef…hmm. Guess we'll see what other skills she has. And now that Big Mom knows Luffy's here, I think the Lola plot will come in play soon enough. Or at least before a full blown fight.
with luffy going straight into town without a disguise,you really can't count all the people that might have reported him,his face is well known enough that someone in the city might have recognized and reported him.

Also, Oda is already foreshadowing the minks that were under Pedro to come to their rescue when shit hits the fan… When you think about it- having Luffy in a place full of weird looking people is like having a nation created for the sole purpose of Luffy befriending them.

She killed people just for ingredients to make a cake.
She's a pirate to the core. She can also want a utopia for the people under her. Those aren't conflicting ideas. I think if you're on her side life can be good but if you're not she won't hesitate to kill you and your entire country if she wants something.

I can see why people would think Pudding and Sanji would get married, one is a cook and the other is a baker, they both love to make food. I just hope if Pudding was to ever join the crew, she won't just be that third pretty face everyone wanted. Plus she has to be able to hold her own weight in a fight.

one probelm is,for someone that is so hellbent to give him a lesson,pekoms and capone were surprisingly chill when they met the rest of the crew onzou…for someone who is used to send heads of loved ones to anyone who crosses her,you would thing they would have attacked first and talked later
She probably order them to bring Sanji and don't engage in combat with the Strawhats, she should know by now that in order to bring that crew down, she'll need something more than what she sent. This makes you wonder how real the marriage actually is since Luffy's last scene on this chapter might imply that everything is being done for the sole purpose of bringing him in (Puddin reaction and Nami's quickness).

Good god, I though Oda drew weird things before, but this arc will make the rest of the story seem normal by comparison. Honestly I love it though, it feels like going back to all those weird children cartoons and having one of the most evil, ruthless scourges on the planet rule them all. It's kinda fitting!
I hope we'll get a touch of Alice in Wonderland this arc. I've always wanted to see Oda's take on that story.
And goodness, Purin is adorable. I'd love it if she joined the crew. But there's also Carrot. And Pedro. And Jinbe's on his way too.

I think this is shaping to be an arc where Luffy has to defeat Big Mam. Well, compared to Kaidou, she looks easier, so I guess it's also logical.
Some long-term predictions: Vegapunk with Paw-Paw fruit for Nakama!!! Kaidou is gonna be killed by Blackbeard and get his strongest Zoan DF!!!

And Oda just interchangably uses English vs Japanese for names depending on context–which is why we know that Luffy's name is Luffy instead of Rufi or something. Not like we've seen a bounty poster for Jigglypuff, anyway.

Why not? If there were similar/lookalike characters giving them different yet essentially the same name is exactly the kind of pun or wordplay I'd expect as a way to heighten the mystery.
In other circumstances, it could even be offered for dramatic irony, as it'd be a blatant telltale to the audience while leaving the characters in the dark.
Plus, the fact Oda uses multiple languages interchangeably goes more towards my argument being plausible.
