Bleach Discussion █: Soul Society, but not!

That scene of Ichigo losing his Bankai was fucking priceless.
-
Ok,let me take a shot at making up a Kubo-like ending while adding Jojo references.SPOILERS?Do not read further if you havent read JoJo.
Ichigo gets rescued by the dads while Rukia freezes the empty backgroud where they fight, you might ask how can this help?Well,if time is defined with the help of the electrons orbiting around a caesium nucleus and she freezes everything close to 0K the electrons slow down, and so time is slowed down, duh.Next step,Ichigo trains inside his mind and goes through chapters of dialogue with his inner demon(s)/spirit(s)/or-what-ever.He merges with his bankai (again) and becomes ultra-fast.Meanwhile Inoue is keeping Bach at bay by reversing everything, why can she do that?Because she has to hold out until Kurosaki-kun comes, duh.
Ichigo gets wrecked again and then he pulls yet another asspull which is vaguely explained that makes him fast, really faaaaaast, lightspeed fast. He's transforming into light which pushes Bach's darkness away.
As he's transforming his body is becoming whiter like a coloured cloth that had bleach spilled on it.He becomes conscious light,as a result of that, time is stopped for him,and everything is happening for him in the same instant, both the end of the transformation and the end of the fight. After he defeats Bach,he realises that he is stuck in this form forever,so he deicides to become the Soul King.THE END!OR IS IT?
The year is 2116,Aizen used loltroll and lolscience combo to create a device which beheads Ichigo!Ichigos body becomes matter again, because why not!Aizen takes over his body, because it's perfect, duh. And spends his time trying to achieve light-form so that he can conquer The World!Inoue's grandson (Qtaro) who is a laid back punk senses that something is wrong and his power awakens,he begins his journey to Soul Society! But wait,he cannot go alone!Urahara and Rukia's son (Ichosuke, who is Ichigo's offspring) join him!
Urahara dies in the final battle, the grandson reaches lightform during the final battle and defeats Aizen!IS THIS THE END?NO!Next we follow the story of Aizen's son, which he make while possesing Ichigo's body. But it has bad scans and the main character is Ichigo level bland so we don't care!
Qtaro's has a daughter! She fights the most devoted follower of Aizen of whom we never heard before! The follower restarts the universe!THE END.Well,at the end I made this really Jojo heavy.
Hope you guys enjoyed the read. -
This chapter was very JoJo-like. In the sense that the villain's power was described in a way last week and now it was described as something completely different.

I cannot articulate my ire for this fight enough, but I'll try.
Ever since Ichigo first landed in the Soul Society invasion and met Bach for the first time, it's always been the latter just acting all smug and condescending between psuedo-philosophical comments and boasts ("You are my child in the darkness" "the future is like grains of sand" "everything has been leading up to this moment"). Was their final battle going to go any other way?
When the arc started off I thought we would have some sympathy or reason to care about this guy, but Kubo has shown a) dismembering minions with ease b) being an asshole and c) congesting his lore with God references and stories to make him Quincy Jesus, yet somehow, somehow manages to override the once horrible fact that there was a Quincy genocide before the story starts. Now I keep thinking "well 90% of the Vandenreich were total assholes, so who cares?"
I don't get it! Why was it out of the question to make this situation greyer than it currently is? Shinigami vs. Arrancar devolved into an oversimplyfing theme of "Shinigami Good, Arrancar Bad" when you clearly had good and bad people on each side. This war is turning out to be the exact same way. Shinigami are good, and Quinicies are bad!
Furthermore, I can't wrap my head around Bach's endgame here. First I thought it was "kill all Shinigami as part of extremist but still understandable revenge", but we shifted to gutting the Soul King, making reality almost collapse in itself, and so on. At what point is he going to be content….and at what point are we supposed to feel a sense of progression for his goal? He's literally unstoppable because Tite Kubo cannot help himself and add in more Godly power to make as such.
It all rings back to what we've been repeating in these threads and on Applied Logic - the uber unstoppable mastermind only really worked the first time with Aizen. Why? Well he was the first main villain of the series, and had such a significant role/part in the series' run, for over 20 volumes. Then you had a hastily-thrown-together plan with Ginjou and Tsukishima, and now....?
And like Ginjou and Tsukishima, I feel Bach has the same problem. Aizen became memorable because his planning, calculating, calm attitude was thrown to such extremes that he became a self-parody of himself. And when you have other characters try to do the same thing, it just feels hollow and predictable. So aside from the glamour of that fact.....what on earth does he have to make him even remotely likable? I can't even root for the Quincies at this point. Bach is at the point where he doesn't even have to try to win, and naturally he'll lose because of deus ex machina or Kubo puts his brain on autopilot in a rush of overconfidence.
So like Ichigo vs. Aizen, I'm not excited, I just want the battle to be over already. Unfortunately, there's not much left in terms of other stuff - Uryu is still struggling with Haschwald and the captains are still fighting Gerard (I think?), but when they go down….Bach's the only one left. With like, 30 good guys still around.
inb4 a Getsuga Tenshou/Spirit Bomb style attack
-
The ending of this fight is still going to be the same. I get the feeling that though Yhwach can change the future, he cannot change fate. Ichigo cutting him down in cold blood was the vision Yhwach saw in his dream. Yhwach's ability is the power to change minutia and details of events, but fate-the ultimate story of all things–can never be altered.

This does sound like the logic Kubo would use.
-
"The future, doesn't belong to you!"

We (the audience, and Yhwach I suppose) were tricked into thinking that scene came about when Ichigo used his Getsuga Tensho + Gran Rey Cero mix, which was promptly dismantled by Yhwach. It'll happen again–Yhwach's gonna be cut in half like Yamamoto.

There is still Harribel, the Space Owl Flamingos and Pica Squad.

Harribel? Pfft, Kubo just used her to show off the Vandenreich….and left her to rot in whatever dungeon. Plus I dunno if there's anything left in Hueco Mundo.
And didn't Lille die?

Kubo repeating himself to drag out a conflict also sounds like something he'd do.
Also lol to anyone thinking that Ywach scene was for real.

Never thought Bankai would become such a joke.
This is amusingly terrible lol.

Looking back, the power to see grains of future!sand he bragged last week was originally his Daddy Spirit King's. So, yeah… his ability to "turn the future into my bitch" might as well be the actual definition of his A the Almighty. Combining them is what makes it so infuriatingly op, because each of them probably couldn't fare as far without the other. Just like how Spirit Daddy was said to be able to perceive the future, but couldn't do jack because he had no way of altering it. Bach too, needed Ichibe to explain his own power in order to be able to beat the latter instantly.
-
Yhwachs mysteriously growing mustache has been more interesting than this fight.

It looked like Ywach has King Crimson ability, does that mean Ichigo will get something similar like GER?
-

He will need Ishida's Arrow for it.
-
My takeaway was that Yhwach could, for all intents and purposes, attack from the future.
-
wow, that power is broken as fk….
How the hell can anyone beat that kind of power?
Like in terms of this story as is or in general hypotheticals?
Because as is only an asspull is going to get the protagonists out of this. Hypothetically? His power is more less just time manipulation so anything that counters that can counter him: better time manipulation, invincibility, nullification. I mean, there's like 3-4 guys I can immediately remember from Jojo's that could stomp Bach.

The right arm of the Soul King that was inside Ukitake managed to evade the power completely, he never saw it coming at all, which means there is a way to do so…..though the right arm also was the power that governed stagnation or as bleack wikia says:
Mimihagi governs stagnation, the stopping of development, growth, progress, and change; as it represents stillness, it can prevent whatever that tries to change or develop from happening. Mimihagi can accomplish this via symbiosis with whatever being it is attached to.
And it could see the future too apparently, so perhaps its unique power was the reason why…..//
What Uryuu's power of "A" is still remains to be seen, maybe he has the same power or something similar to counteract against Bach's ability.
-
Hmmm guys, wait till Ichigo kicks out of what we will all realize was an illusion and Ichigo and wife were just imagining things.
.. His mind was just being bleached by Bach.
And considering this level of let down I am suspecting that Aizen will be the final villain.
-
I expect Aizen vs Bach in the next chapters, it will be fun.
-
@uniaka:

Well that's one way to look at it. Aizen coming to the rescue, but we already have Ichigo's dad's duo arriving, who haven't done anything yet.
-
i have a feeling that Isshin will appear and take Ichigo & Orihime to The Dangai to Quickly Boost their Abilites more while everyone else at the battlefield gets sent on the road to the Slaughterhouse of Yhwach for several chapters then Ichigo & Orihime reappear with a mass power boost(and maybe another transformation) that actually can hurt Yhwach to kill him
or….
Plot Power will allow Ichigo to somehow beat Yhwach in maybe under 30 chapters

If this happened in One Piece:
http://i.imgur.com/hgPAkMQ.jpgWell Bach was introduced in the chapter where he was to be known at Buck Beard, and we have Black Beard. By God I think I might be on to something:ninja:
After thinking about it, I almost feel like giving Kubo a minute amount of credit. Instead of giving the new form and giving some time to show it off, he decides to next panel just cut through any possible hype. Usually Ichigo at least has some time to show off, but Kubo opted to not waste our time showing what would be pointless filler. I would give him credit but last chapter we had a whole thing dedicated to talking about the concept of time and hope when it didn't even matter, Bach can just change it on a whim, so most of the stuff with Bach has been filler. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Kubo brought everyone back because he changed the future in which his minions didn't get offed.
-
Can't wait to see how Ichigo erases past events, seeing as they made a big deal complete with flashback to Ichigo's origins about how royally boned you are when your bankai is borked.

Fairy Tail Stone Age Omake Chapter

That was horrible.
-
That was… I don't even know what that was.

Sausage ruining everything!

what is this. No one asked for this.

…Well that was garbage. His one shots are usually enjoyable. That was painfully stupid.

Where is the bleach when you need it?

…Well that was garbage. His one shots are usually enjoyable. That was painfully stupid.
Bleach is leaps and bounds over that shit.
I know that many disagree but Bleach is pulp fiction kind of enjoyable - I do not mean movie but definition of pulp fiction while FT is just downright stupid.
This weeks chapter was simply great. Art is superb, Bach seems to be impossible to defeat. I imagine that this time Isshin will use his final getsuga to fight with Bach who will get handicaped for some time.
With Zaraki being hinted to be far from mastering Bankai, same as Ichigo being hinted to be quite far from getting full control of it I imagine that we are still few years away from ending of Bleach.
Squad 0 being next baddies and Aizen getting big role to play along with plenty of characters like Grimmjow or Ukitake, Shinji and so on.. longest Bleach arc incomming.
I imagine that end of fight with Bach and Hasch will mark 2/3 of this final arc. Then we will be left with last 1/3 of 1000 year blood war. Maybe even a bit more than that.
I am quite unhappy that Bleach was lined up with FT in this thread.

The longer Bleach has gone on, the more apparent it has become how limited Kubos writing toolbox is. What do you do when you've already had a villain that planned the heros life all along? Well, the final villain planned it all along EVEN MORE, with an ability that is basically Tsukishima on steroids.
And you know, the rampant nonsense and bullshit and flimsy plot structure and lack of stakes could all be excused if the characters, or at least the situation was entertaining.
But the fight is just so creatively dead; its the reheated leftovers of all previous arcs of the series.
Ichigo is as much of a dead fish as ever, and its hard to root for him, but Ywhach really sinks the whole thing. What even is his character? As you say, he has none of the preposterous charm Aizen once had, instead just playing like a greatest hit album of Mastermind Villain quips. He's just a sentient ball of preachy smugness, and since his defining character trait compared to Aizen seems to be being More Shouty, it makes his endless speeches grating as all hell. You don't want to see him beaten because of the threat or villain he is, but because he's obnoxious as fuck. And its sooooo weird, because you'd think he'd have slightly more going on due to his history; Son of the soul king! Quincy creator! Quincy Genocide, with Yamamoto duel! Extremely personal connections to both Ichigo and Ishida! Why doesn't this add up to more?Visually it falls flat too; How many times will there be attacks from behind and ginormous beam spams? 700 chapters in and after a gazillion upgrades Ichigo continues to fight using sheer dumb brute force and shonens most limited move pool, and Ywhach attacks with waves of black goo (nice and easy to draw), white beam swords (nice and easy to draw), and remote black goo spike mines (nice and easy to draw). Theres no real sense the transformations change anything; the most Ichigo got out of his horny mode was a kinda sorta different beam, and Ywhach keeps going in and out of Super Eyeball mode. Seriously, does this thing deserve three iterations?
http://www.mangareader.net/bleach/673/18
http://www.mangareader.net/bleach/677/6
http://www.mangareader.net/bleach/678/16The Final Villain of the series has no real defined moveset, instead using shadow attacks with a power he literally just got, and now the power of "Ahahaha or so you thought, but then Fuck you!!!"; seeing Ywhach pull stuff out of his ass to whoop Ichigo can be done entertainingly, but it doesn't deliver, and Ywhach insufferable monolouging doesn't help.
I will say that the delivery of Ichigo getting trolled was kinda neat this time, but this horse has been beaten so much to death already (OMG AIZEN STOPPED THE MUSIC!!) that even Ichigo getting punked is losing its luster… especially since it means this could prolong the arc with another 50 chapters. -
Who has the bigger sausage? Ichigo or Yhwach?

Yhwach rant
Speaking of Yamamoto, what the hell happened with using his Bankai?
I would think he would have something to counter the… well... "anti-hollow" pills.

Fairy Tail isn't good. And neither is Bleach. Bleach was unintentionally hilarious with Ichigo getting his Bankai interrupted before he could do anything. Fairy Tail was massively stupid but it wasn't part of the main story. Just a very wtf stand alone chapter.
-
-
As in: Objectively Bad?
Yes. Both have got so many storytelling problems and now Bleach has art issues. Fairy Tail has maintained it's art quality but it's story has been blah for years cause Mashima doesn't know how to write tension and has poor comedic timing.
-
Hentai tail sausage fest and panty shot on almost every page plus with some boob grabs and censored nakedness lol

At least you get hentai with fairy tail and the story has a faster pace as well bleach is super slow due to all the wasted panels, the main character is every race in the series but still has problems fighting since he always gets trolled and he just spams the same type of attack that he started with at the start of the series even though he has other stuff that he can do and then you have orihime who cannot say anything except ichigo's last name talk about easy person to do the voice of for the anime you only have to tape it once then you can just play it for her lines lol.

Yamamoto was already dead at the time. Nobody ate the pill.
He probably saved it for when Ichigo can fight him more equally. :ninja:

Wow, that FT chapter. 90% consisting of cameltoe. 10% various fetishes.
-
That ridiculous FT chapter's true purpose seems to be hammering down the forced romance between Natsu and Lucy in the actual series. Honestly, I got a good laugh from how stupid it was, more so from what I had gotten from reading the latest Bleach chapter.
"Mammoth Sausage is served", is probably what Mashima would say.
-
How do they even know what sausages are?
-
-
-
I have reliable sources at shueisha who told me that Bleach will end at the end of november. Then next year Kubos assistants will write and draw Bleach The Next Generation. It will be a monthly series, and at first they will retell the whole bleach manga page for page in a new artstyle, but with no dialogue change etc. for about 20-25 years, then we finally get the new story.:ninja:
-
How do they even know what sausages are?
Maybe that's just what they call their thing :ninja:
-
What the fuck was that Stone Age chapter. ahem, pardon my Spanish.
But seriously what was that. My brain cells feel insulted.I bet Hiro-chan's sausage was in woolly mammoth form when he drew it.
-
I love how he draws women, though.
