After playing the demo for some time:
Pros:
Feels more like an actual fighting game than a "party fighter" like grand battle x, gigant battle
Combat is simple but satisfying
Good musicCons:
Sprites aren't very good
Sound quality on voices is really low
Buttons are the same for all characters, not much variety
Super attack animations are longer than they need to beI'll be buying this game, but from the demo menu it doesn't look like there will be any sort of singleplayer mode. Four things are crossed out, which seem to be Create a team, Online, Shop and Extra.

The site updated, but only to announce that the Thousand Sunny as a support character is a pre-order bonus. (though weren't the pre-order bonuses for DBZ Extreme Butoden unlocked through button codes or patches eventually?)

If it's anything like Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden (which was made by the same team and seems to have almost exactly the same interface and gameplay), it will be okay at best. Probably kind of button-mashy (in the DBZ game, once your super meter was high enough, you could hit Y-Y-Y-Y-X-A with any character and pretty much win), but the sprites will be fantastic.

Kind of weird that we're seeing gameplay videos of Kid and Blackbeard before most of the Straw Hats. Sprites generally look okay, though the darkness effects from Blackbeard seem kind of off.

I was hoping that Lucci would be one of the playable characters. Now I wonder who the last one is going to be; I'm curious to see if they'll go with a character who has a post-time-skip appearance (Buggy, Smoker, or Aokiji?), a major pre-time-skip character (Ace? Crocodile?), or someone from the Zou arc to preview that (Pedro? Carrot? Raizo?).
The official website also updated to show a bunch of support characters (the two Zou leaders, the samurai, Bepo, and Spandam), so that rules them out.

Kizaru and Whitebeard, at the very least, have been confirmed to be support characters, so if the extremely similar DBZ game is any indication, they probably won't be playable.
As for the cover, I figure if Kid and Cavendish are playable in this (which they're already confirmed to be), then everyone else on the cover is going to be playable. Can't see them leaving out one of the Straw Hats.

I want to be hyped by this game… but the roster seems small and I didn't like the gameplay style in DBZ Budoten. I really have no luck with One Piece games on 3DS...

I tought the last one was good. I mean, I didn't play, but seemed nice (and the DS were awesome).

Wait until Tokyo Game Show. I think Bandai Namco might localize it. Since it looks like they're going to localize One Piece Thousand Storm, Dragon Ball Fusion, etc. Most of these games are getting a new trailer.

Apparently DBZ Extreme Butoden is getting an update in Japan that will actually allow crossover play between it and Colosseum here. Will that serve as extra incentive for this game to be localized? I sure as heck hope so.

Also, the website was updated with Hancock and Jinbei's profiles - not a huge fan of Jinbei's neon green outfit, but the sprite itself looks solid.

Hmm I'm conflicted.
On one hand it's Arc Works, love Guilty Gear and Persona 4 The Arena. So happy to hear they made a One Piece fighting game.
On the other, it's just for 3DS and it looks rather clunky and uninspired. Sprites looks a little too big for such small screens. Course this is going on video impression and gotta play the game first to really get a feel for it. It has a good roster but feels liike it's messing that extra oomph to it.
Honestly could go either way, we'll see when it comes out.

Well, one game is more improved than the other. So, it's not really a complete reskin. Arc System Works might be using the One Piece game's gameplay mechanics and battle system. That means no beam struggles. Plus the One Piece game will have an exclusive tournament online mode. I wish this mode was also added in the Dragon Ball game.

There was a livestream for Jump games, but it mainly focused on Dragon Ball Xenoverse and a Boruto expansion for the recent Naruto game.

Yeah, it's really weird that we get the fake Robin and Nami, a completely random okama, and one of the tribesmen from the island that Chopper was sent to, but Shanks (who's had a presence in pretty much every One Piece game) is completely absent.
EDIT: Thinking about it, Kid's inclusion is really weird for me. Even thinking of it from a cynical, "how could we make money" perspective, we've got:
-the ten most popular characters from the most recent popularity poll
-the remaining four Straw Hats, and Jinbei, who's practically a Straw Hat
-two villains from the most recent movie (Gild and Lucci)
-three major characters from the most recent arc (Doflamingo, Fujitora, Cavendish)
-the two biggest competitors for main villain in this series (Blackbeard and Akainu)
…and Kid, who's not especially popular, not recent, and not major. You'd think that they could have included Crocodile, Smoker, Aokiji, Buggy, or Shanks over him. -

I still think it was a poor choice. Ceasar Clown, Cavendish, Monet and Vergo have a lot more fights and screen time than Drake yet they are support characters in BB (which equates to them being stock images with special effects).

I agree, but that's why they didn't add them because Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft knows we want them. It was proof during the vote poll. They're using marketing strategy because if they give us all the playable characters we want, there would be nothing to look forward to, but the story mode. I don't want Spike Chunsoft to make same mistake like Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 or there would be no point of sequel. Plus the roster the needed variety. I can see Monet being too similar to Marco and Kuzan.
As for One Piece and Dragon Ball Nintendo 3DS games. These games are completely different. They're not meant to have a huge roster of playable characters. The only DLCs will be offered is new support characters, which are free. I can see Shanks added as a new DLC character, but that's it. However, the Dragon Ball game got 1 movie playable character as a promotion for the movie. Same for the One Piece game, but 2 movie playable characters. These characters could have got replace with someone else.

I wonder what the themes to some of those matches are. I get that Chopper and Buu love candy, and Freeza is an emperor while Hancock is an empress, but I don't see the connection between Ace and Broly (Raditz would have made more sense, as they're both brothers of the main characters who were introduced well into the series) or Sabo and Beerus.
Also, I wonder how stage selection will work, since you can clearly pick stages from both games.

I'm looking forward to the sprites being ripped, and some of the specials are cool, but others seem anti-climactic. Take Zoro's Pound Cannon special, which (despite all of the build-up) is just a single energy slash.
EDIT: Also, watching the full video, Brook's and Bartolomeo's ultimate moves are really lazy - they're just slightly altered versions of their super moves.
