Looks very similar to Extreme Butouden. Making your own pirate crew in an open world sounds awesome.
But that battle gamestyle…uhm. I dont know what to think about it. -

I have my japanese 3DS and will import it. Name is One Piece: Great Pirate Colosseum. Imo was SGBX good and way more fun than Burning Blood. Lets see how this turns out.

it shouldn't. licensed games are almost always easy to pick up and play, this isn't made for fighting games fans after all. so you don't have to worry about combos and links and all that other nonsense from fighting games.
i do however like the 2d sprites alot, so hopefully this game isn't too simplistic with it's gameplay. if it's anything like smash then i would be a happy man. -
I hope this is a side project until One Piece Burning Blood 2.
This looks interesting, but I'm getting a Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi gameplay mechanics from that one battle picture. Even though I didn't have a problem with that game.

Wow, it looks like Extreme Botuden! I mean, I don't have a 3DS so I won't be able to play it if it comes over to NA but it looks like it'd be fun.

- The game is being developed by Arc System Works (same as Extreme Butoden)
- It launches September 21
- 23 playable characters and over 80 assist characters
- Sail around the world and build your own pirate crew
- Full online battle feature
- First-print copiesl include early unlocks for assist characters Edward Newgate, Marco, and Jozu, plus an in-game item that will give you an edge in the “Create a Pirate Crew” mode, and a download code to get a special 3DS theme.
- Amazon Japan consumers will get another, unannounced item

Yeah definitely Kuzan and Kizaru, but I'd bet Ace and Whitebeard instead of Caesar and Shanks. Although the Whitebeard support character might squash that theory
Edit: Just counted and there's 20 on the cover, so with 3 left, its probably Kuzan, Kizaru and Ace

Even though this game is very similar to Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden. It also reminds of One Piece Burning Blood, but in 2D sprite
fighting game. I know this probably turning a lot of people off, but it's good that they're trying to develop different types of One Piece games. The next Nintendo 3DS game will probably be developed by Ganbarion and similar to Dragon Ball Fusions without the crazy fusion, but creating your own one piece character with a made up story about him or her. -

The sprites look like they have been traced over 3D models that were available to them (look at Luffy), no fluidity, bad combination. Character art on the touch screen recycles the same art as the cover. It could still be a good game but I'm not holding my breath. Reminds of the time One Piece on the GBA was a re-skin of DB: Advance Adventure, both which were fun!

If you're referring to Grand Battle that was literally them appropriating sprites from Swan Coliseum.
I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

It was the American One Piece GBA game that used the same engine as DB: Advance Adventure, same music and sprites as the Wonderswan game.

A bit unexpected/unusual (was hoping for something like Buggy, Smoker, and Aokiji, since they're all major characters with post-time-skip appearances who are missing), but it will be interesting to see how he works in a fighting game. There's still two characters who haven't been revealed (assuming all of the ones on the game's cover are playable), so hopefully they're good ones.

Anybody have thoughts on who the last two playable characters might be?
I'm thinking it will be Lucci (to promote his appearance in Film Gold) and Aokiji or Smoker (since they're major Marines with post-time skip appearances). While we could get someone from Zou or the current manga arc (not the first time that it's happened; Brook appeared in One Piece Gear Spirit when he had only just been introduced in the manga), I doubt it since it seems unclear who will be important in the long run.

We just got a home console game "One Piece Burning Blood". The last Nintendo 3DS game we had was back in 2014 " One Piece Super Grand Battle X".

No, the videos were rushed. Here's a better video that actually goes deep into this game. This game will have online tournament mode unlike Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden. This is mostly what I am waiting for in the next trailer.
