@Blake:
It was very obviously due to the pandemic this time though. Theres a very clear pattern here, I'd say there is a 99.99% chance the release date won't change
Always so sure of yourself. Never start gambling, my man.

Dude I'm only confident because there is a pattern. If it were some shot in the dark that would be one thing but this has happened before, recently. If you want to be skeptical fine, but like really I have decent reason to be somrewhat sure. Either way we'll find out soon, if it does change then say whatever you want about me lol.
Groundhog Day the chat
At least I added something different lol. Not the exact same.
? Don't think he was referring to you, just the specific convo.
I know. Sorry for butting in. I felt left out.
Anyone know why the Voyage 2 is still not on Amazon, I beek checking to download this batch and its still not on there,
The DVD set's up on Amazon if that's any consolation.

Yeah pretty sure everyone here knows that, but the fact it didnt go up digitally is really weird, and very inconvienent for some people
Toei's newsletter had a weird typo that voyage two was coming to bluray/dvd on Sept 8th. They also confirmed the first North American premiere of the Drum Island OP movie at Crunchyroll; the movie has an english title card at the bottom of the poster now. Hopefully this bodes well for them bringing more movies to the states.

Also, I don't know about Rightstuf, but Funimation Store still hasn't shipped my item, though the release date is one week away. No big deal since they're on streaming (hopefully soon?) and there's no commentary, though.

I think that's the same logo as the UK release (dunno if Manga or Toei made those. Toei provided the sometimes-dodgy title translations). I'm curious where the Crunchyroll stream will be on the scale from "1080p source with a new Funimation-consistent translation" to "we upscaled the PAL DVD and didn't even correct the playback speed". Do we know if this'll be locked outside of America?
I had never realized they titled this “Episode of Chopper.” What a mess these OP movie/special titles are.
@Blake:
What? How Its right front and center lol

Funi tweeted about it streaming, despite the fact it still hasn't been added
Swapping between “Adventures in,” Episode of,” “Film X,” and just titles.
Man, I wish Toei would make more specials. I guess it’s good that their resources are focused on the episodes instead, but I really did enjoy one new special each year. Doubt they’ll ever make an “Episode of Law” at this point.
I never really found it confusing. There was only ever like one "adventure of" special and the "film" part started with strong world.
Nice to hear that Episode of Chopper is getting an official streaming release.
Really hope that newsletter means we may get movie 9 released on blu-ray
Is Episode of Chopper dubbed?
Is Episode of Chopper dubbed?
Of course not lol. Besides it's a special thing with the japanese cast.
The episodes are finally up streaming.
And of course when they did so they put the episodes put of order again lol. Also, appears that theres was no uncut japanese added with hands up included
@Blake:

There is an Uncut Japanese version with Hands Up…

Ah okay cool, at least they got that right lol, I was confused because for some reason you cant watch the uncut japanese episodes without a subscription where you cant also watch the dub free. On that note, I actually forgot the simulcast didnt have previews for awhile, so this is the first time you could watch them through funi. In fact, while crunchyroll had previews they had the episode 590 preview at the end of 589. Since 590 is skipped, episode 591s preview is never shown, so this is the first time episode 591s preview has ever been officially released in america I think. Doubt anyone cares but fun bit of trivia I suppsoe.
Not sure if it’s just on my phone, but the English option for episode 593 is in Japanese. Is it in English for others, or is this a glitch on their entire server?

588 and 589 were english for me at least

At the end of this it was implied it was the first in a series, wonder if any more was ever recorded.
Yeah from looking at Twitter specifically 593 is japanese on both options. God so try to be patient with funi bit seriously how tf do you make that mistake lol.

You're learning, young grasshopper.
I never said funi don't make mistakes lol. Especially when it comes to funi now, it frankly is not the greatest streaming platform.
So I went on FunimationNow for the new episodes, and saw episode 588-600 appeared to be completely missing. But after that I scrolled to the end, and turns out they’re out of order. 588 comes after 628, at the end of the season. And the dub is there now too

Yes I mentioned it before, season 10s episode ordering has been all over the place undoubtabley because of adding the dub. Its been very confusing for many.
Does anyone know about the NA premiere of Episode of Chopper tomorrow? Do you have to sign in to watch at the exact right time, or is the movie available to play, start, and stop throughout the day? Not sure how this is supposed to work.
They uploaded a 4K poster to Twitter and that shit is crisp as hell. Not sure I’ve ever seen a 4K anime image (view on 4K screen or iPhone retina).

Not completely sure myself, but I'd say its pretty likely its the former, its hard for me to see the latter happening. The 4k poster is odd to me though. Even if they did, twitter usually always compresses images over like 900p
I really enjoyed Episode of Chopper. The animation for the movie was beautiful.
I unfortunately couldn't watch it due to work. Is there any way to still view it after the air time?
Sadly, they didn't put the movie up on the on demand on Crunchyroll.
Yeah this whole thing is really odd imo. Why premiere movie 9 of all things, and make no mention of a readily available release?
A lot of conventions do this type of stuff. I remember last year, that a couple of conventions had the premiere of couple of the most recent Detective Conan movies. In this month, we're finally getting the first of those movies from Discotek. So it probably going to take some time before we're get more information about this movie situation, plus this happening at the same time with Toei is beginning to push for an official streaming release of the Pretty Cure series.
Yeah hopefully this makes its way to Blu-ray / DVD eventually along with the others. I do wonder why they picked this one over something like movie 6.
Well I mentioned this earlier, but it would be dubbed before being thrown on blu ray, and I don't see it being dubbed at least until quarintine is over which…. isn't happening any time soon.
Yeah, the art and animation in the movie was super fun. First time watching it ever. Was pretty turned off by the updates/changes, though I thought they did a great job condensing the arc otherwise.

I’m feeling really hopeful about the movies getting dubbed now that Toei is focusing on the property here more.
What are some of your casting hopes/predictions for the Doflamingo family? Here are mine, as for the ones we'll hear next set:
Lao G: Richard Epcar (know he doesnt work with funi much but not impossible)
Baby 5: Jessica Peterson
Giolla: Anastasia Munoz
Mach vise: uh… hmm.... I seriously have no idea. He seems like someone Chris Rager would usually voice, but I doubt they'll go for it.
Oh and we won't hear him for awhile but I would be seriously surprised if Josh Martin isn't cast as Pica.
A lot of these are somewhat shots in the dark though, one piece is probably one of if not the hardest funi dub to predict casting for. It's fun that way though, amazing how the directors constantly find new people. Worth noting Kyle is also known for giving more major role oportunities to smaller actors, so I think he'll be a great fit for one piece in that regard.
Today’s the release day for voyage two, yet Funimation hasn’t even shipped my copy yet.
I got Season 10, Voyage 2. I'm beginning to watch it.
Hasn't shipped for me either on Righstuf with expedited shipping. It says they're out of stock but uh they weren't even in stock a day or so ago :wassat:
I'm a couple episodes into Season 10, Voyage 2. I'm continuing to enjoy the dub voices for both Caesar and Kin'emon. Also I'm enjoying the performance of the Straw Hats that got body switch.
It always felt like a missed opportunity to actually have the characters keep their voices but act completely different: Chopper sounding super, Franky being very petit, etc. Just having the regular actors voices coming out of different bodies is so boring.

While I get that having impressions would be fun, I think it might mostly be to help avoid confusion from the audience.

That was what the masks were for.
