The new one piece game has been revealed coming to the West, and guess what yet again there will be no English Dub
If ever there was a game that deserved it, it’s this one. Can we protest?
-

Yeah but it seems we may have to learn Japanese since i think Bandai Namco makes these decisions. I thought for sure FUnimation was busy working on this game was causing the delay

I'm like…
Damn!
It's 2017 about to be 18 soon and we still stuck in subs?
How stupid can Bandai be?I could see people like Roger's Base defend this saying it's for the better of the fans if we don't get any future One Piece games dubbed.
XD
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
A fighting game I get?
But this is Uncharted for the One Piece fanbase. Why can't a dub exist for this game? And why isn't this on the Switch!

Man, if the reason for these delays were because of that game, that would have made this wait so much sweeter.
-
Facebook post says to watch the dub weekly on Funimation.com, yet there are no new episodes up yet.

Maybe they forgot about it?
-
Wishful thinking but I wonder if this means they'll release a new dub episode weekly leading up to the voyages. Could be a great way to push their streaming service and give One Piece fans something to hold them over waiting for the DVD releases.
I'm already subscribed to the service because it's totally worth it, so I would definitely tune into weekly episodes and still support the official release. I'm probably not the only one like this either.
-
Here's a thought….
The "Collection" releases are at the time skip now, aren't they? What if they let the Collections catch up to where we are now on Fishman Island, and then all future DVD releases will be 26 episodes instead of 13? Maybe they're dubbing way ahead in the meantime....

That's how I interpret their post; not sure what else they could mean.

I'd be so angry if they dropped the voyages at this point haha.

Same. I think that would be a really good move for them especially since they're no longer on Toonami. And with streaming becoming a more predominate platform anime these days, it would be for the best.

But what if they kept the voyages and they just contained more episodes?
-
I wouldn't mind if they released episodes Weekly and did the voyages, at least that way i can always have One Piece dub to look forward to
-

Personally I'd love that. It worked out for Majin Buu Arc in Kai, I'm sure the One Piece fans that are still supporting their new releases would spend a little more money to get more episodes as well.
Also Funimation edited their Facebook post to take out the word 'weekly.' I had a feeling it was wishful thinking.

Wouldn't mind this as long as the design doesn't look too different from the voyage sets. 4 of these sets a year would be good.
-
I'd rather them keep both, I wouldn't want the design to change for either version for collections

Huh? It still says “watch the dub weekly.”
-
On mine there's an edit history and they dropped the word weekly. It was there when I commented, now it's gone.

I’m looking at the One Piece official Facebook page, which they manage. You’re looking at the funimation page.
-
Well darn i was hoping for two sets to be released and this set only has 10 episodes
-
It has 11 episodes. And seeing as there were only 22 left for the season after voyage 3 it was obvious the last 2 voyages would only have 11 episodes each
-
I like that the General Franky is on the cover.
-
Thank god. Finally. I’m irritated that they didn’t do a double release though. And that they aren’t reading episodes weekly like they erroneously said. Here’s hoping the release schedule speeds up to once a month and there’s no break between seasons.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Lordy. I’ve got to ration four one piece episodes over three months. Guess it’s time to embrace watching Hunter x Hunter more regularly.

good to finally see it up I guess..idk, hopefully we get the next set in April.

Cover is nice!
Hmm…only one commentary track?
-
About damn time.
I like that cover art. Best one in this season.
-
Merry Christmas, dub watchers! I hope many of you receive the gift of dubbed one Piece this holiday season.

It's still Christmas where I am, so Merry Christmas to you too, Zephray.
The best gift I could get is more dubbed One Piece in episode, movie, and video game format. -

late merry xmas to you as well
-
It just occurred to me that (assuming there are no moves/specials/whatnot first) 'Season Ten: Voyage One' will be a bit of a Funimation milestone: their 100th One Piece DVD!
-
Jesus. Is it really that many? Now I understand why folks don’t want to collect the series. Even the collections are at twenty sets already.

So i just recently re watched the finale of the Alabasta arc,and i noticed the usage of the song “memories” (ed 1 for the initiated) and it got me to thinking…. for those that keep up with the anime (this shouldn’t be a spoiler but just in case)
SPOILERS!!!! SPOILERS!!!!! SPOILERS!!!!!!!
I remember the 1 hour special that was made it also used the song memories as well, which took me by surprise. Are we to assume that when the dub gets to that point ,they wont be able to sing the song in dubbed form again?

But for real? I haven't seen much of the specials so even I can't say if they would redub the song or not. It be a waste as Japan told them no. But…
Hmm?
-

Hmm, well they didn't dub "We Are!" in 516, but that was a different recording version from the original (by a different artist too?)
However, 808 has the original version of Memories, and since they already once acquired the rights to dub that song, assuming they still have the rights, yes I think they would use their dubbed version -

They won't dub it though because Avex forbids the dubbing of the OPs, EDs and insert songs

Oh whoops, my mistake, it sounded so similar. It's not the same as the version in Episode of Merry, is it?
-
Damn that sucks if true. So because it’s a new recording it disqualified it? Am I following right??

Even if it was the exact same song from the first ending, I doubt FUNi would use their English recording of it anymore. At this point, it would simply create inconsistency, since no other songs are being dubbed, other than something an actual character is singing.

Larry Brantley (Hordy) is recording a video commentary for a One Piece DVD today and since V4 doesn't have a video commentary on it, it's probably for V5: https://twitter.com/larrybrantley/status/948990624514134016

Literally no spoilers whatsoever

Actually the Insert Songs have all been fair game if it's in media res. Since they stopped dubbing the OP/ED they have still dubbed the Sogeking Song, Bink's Sake and New World and they dubbed all the musical numbers from Film Gold. Basically it seems character songs are unaffected by this.

Is there a new English term for the Tamatebako yet? Did they be lazy like the rest of the fandom and ignore the perfectly feasable and easier to say and understand term of "Urashima's Casket?"
I hope its the latter and I have faith, since the dub still went with the term "Celestial Dragons" when everyone else preferred to exclusively use "Tenryubito" all the time.
Point is, like with the terms like Yonkou, Shichibukai, Tenryubito, etc. I hope the similarly named Tamatebako gets a more localized real name…
-
I think they're using Tamate Box.
-
Solicits up on Mon or Tues. Cross your fingers.
-
I'm hoping they translate Baron Tamago to "Egg Baron" or else the jokes with his transformation won't make sense.
-
Maybe if lip flaps or off-camera speech allow, they could call him, "The Egg Baron, Baron Tamago" just so they get the reference.
Gawwwwwwwwd, this wait is killing me!
-

Would be nice, but knowing FUNi, voyage 5 isn't coming till the summer with their current schedule lol
i am only saying this hoping I can be proven wrong and funi actual does solicit the next set
-
A man can wish. A man can pray.

Not the final list, but no sign of 5th Voyage yet: https://fandompost.vbulletin.net/forum/anime-manga-discussions/us-blu-ray-dvd-and-simulcast-industry-news/688793-funimation-april-2018-solicitations
I imagine it's coming in May. I just hope Funi don't think they have an excuse for a long break before starting Punk Hazard!!
My daughter and I have put the New World arc of OP on hold for the time being until it catches up a bit. We'll start watching weekly again.
She's more interested in Dragon Ball now anyway! Got her watching the original from the start! She loves it!
