I doubt we're going to get blu rays for season 10 and up. Mostly because when it get to the collection release of the series, since season 9, voyage 5 will be pair with Season 10, voyage 1. And it just doesn't make sense to have half of the set to be bluray only. Plus the French release that is already pass the point when the blurays started to come out and they didn't get a bluray for Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, and Zou.
Yeah. I’m pretty pessimistic about ever seeing blurays. Funimation in general tends not to change their ways too often. I mean, it’s possible, but I just don’t see why they would add blurays to the release when DVDs have been working for them just fine and there’s no precedent for it.

Slightly different question, but do you think Funimation will keep releasing those big black collector dvd sets? The 3rd one came out in 2015, with sets 9-12, so I'm guessing no?

Not that it matters but didn't dbz get Blu rays,and it too didn't have Blu rays in Japan?

It's funny you say that, I'm currently in the process of selling all my original voyage box sets on ebay, in order to more or less "trade in" for the collection box sets. I ran out of shelf space and decided to halve my collection rather than buy more shelves. Plus I found a good deal on the 3 big black box collections on ebay too (probably will order 13-21 over time)
Collection 21 pre-order (for Dec 5) is up on Amazon. Mihawk graces the cover. So by the end of the year the Collections will have reached the timeskip.
And of course, Amazon got confused and thinks that the '21 And Over' (the 2013 film) blu-ray is a version of this 'One Piece' set. Goshdarnit, we were just talking about OP Blu-rays Amazon!
Small update on the Amazon situation. For me they are shipping Season 9, Voyage 3 next week.

I got Season 9, Voyage 3. I'm continuing to like both Fisher Tiger and Otohime in the dub.
It seems Daniel Baugh has become a pretty big fan of One Piece. Maybe he watches the simulcast at home, and took a screen of that image to use with his One Piece post. If it was even a One Piece post to begin with. Sonny Strait directing? Hmm.
FUNi released a behind the scenes video for My Hero Academia that contains footage of the dubbing process on the last episode of the show's current season that released yesterday, and on the schedule for one of their studios was Matthew Mercer booked for 2 hours through Source Connect and he's not in any of FUNI's current simuldubs so this is almost definitely for One Piece. I figured that Matt would be recording remotely due to his busy schedule but this will get things done faster

I finished Season 9, Voyage 3. The dub of Fishman Island continues to be great in my opinion and I'm enjoying the arc a lot more then I originally did.

Yeah that is a really weak January slate. I'm a little concerned with how close the collections are to the voyages now. Also pissed at no Dragon Ball Super Part 3 wtf, the Toonami airing will be in the next arc by then, and well into it if it doesn't get solicited until February.

Jim Foronda and Daniel Baugh have both said that they have finished recording their characters for Season 9 and Baugh was even doing some pick up lines last week so the end of Season 9 shouldn't be too far off. I guess Joel's vacation to Japan, that happened shortly after Daniel Baugh said that he finished recording Fishman Island, affected production a little. It's coming though so there's no reason to get upset, it's just strange that production was affected that much by a couple weeks vacation to Japan. Super isn't on there either and that follows a three month schedule so I guess they just wanted January to be a Crunchyroll month

At this point, I’ll get frustrated if there’s also a break between seasons. I much would’ve preferred a three or four month break between seasons.

Not necessarily. There's always been the possibility of a simil dub. If they just did that and started where the official Japanese Blu Ray releases stopped ,and continued off from there ,the pain of the wait wouldn't be so bad.

Hunter x hunter always has new dubbed episodes every week on Toonami while the dvds can take their time on release.
I’m proposing rather than just jump to the whole cake island episodes, why not instead dub the episodes where the Japanese blu ray releases left off. And give it to us weekly to wet our appetites until the next release.
Or
Dub the whole cake island episodes ( 4 episodes behind as seems to be procedure) and give it to us on a weekly simul dub basis.
Or
Just give us the latest batch of one piece dub episodes of fishman island in a weekly format one episode at a time to appease us.

Nah. I'm good with one episode per week, but on this release schedule, it isn't even that. If the show caught up, they'd do a simuldub, and I'd get weekly episodes.

Still couldn't find a torrent for the dub; that's why I bought the DVDs in the first place, since I'd never actually seen or read Hunter before.

I think it's more complicated than that. One Piece has always been one of their high priority shows. I have the strong feeling that when Funi went all in on their simuldub initiative, it's messed up their disc release schedule.
