If they do decide to split it then I can see the second half happening with Onigashima. That's the only natural spot I can think of.

Just finished Voyage 4. Was so glad the introduction to the underworld guests was included as the last episode in this set. I'd been looking forward to it for so long, and it didn't disappoint.
-
Yeah, I just finished it too. Really distracting that Jimbei sounds weird, and I continually don’t like how none of the character voices have any base. But that last episode was exciting. Awesome that we’re at the halfway point, and it was cool to meet Morgans and Katakuri in the dub.
-
Season 10 (Z Ambition, Punk Hazard, and Breed arcs) have started airing on Toonami. I would like to report that for the cast stuff it's like the home video release of Season 10 and onward, that they shown the voices of the Straw Hats and the important characters of the arcs.
-
@Sano Does that mean that the English cast are given a silent credits screen after the episode, like the DVDs?
-
@LostTimeLord No, they actually shown the english cast during the intro. Since at the end of the episode, it shows the Funimation and Toei logos.
-
Man, I don’t know why CR is dragging their heels on Film Red. Seems like we’ll be the last country to release it. Their music department sucks these days, as evidenced by all of the terrible dubbed songs in WCI, so maybe that element is slowing them down? Or something to do with licensing the songs?
I watched the songs with all the new wedding arrivals the other day. Terrible sound mixing makes even decent singers sound bad. I feel like Perospero’s VA at least would’ve sounded good if not for that. The song parts make me cringe in the dub.
-
It probably more or so Toei for the wait on Film Red. Since you have to remember the new Dragon Ball movie just came out last week in the US. And that Toei probably didn't want to cannibalized both Dragon Ball and One Piece by releasing both movies at the same time.
-
@LostTimeLord Yeah as Sano said, they actually
the English credits back into the OP that were on those silent credits (note how it refers to Funi doing "English Localization" vs. "English Version" as they used to be credited in
, as well as Masayuki Endo from Toei being Executive Producer instead of Gen Fukunaga). They still appear to only be crediting the primary cast, but at least it looks better presentation-wise.
-
That was quick! Love how far these releases are coming. Every four weeks has been so nice.
-
Well, looks like the dubs officially caught up to where the anime was when I caught up, the most recent episode at the time was 853. Bizarre.
-
@Blake-Bakes-Cakes I remember when I caught up to the anime it was at about episode 240. The dub ever covering anything beyond Skypiea seemed like a pipe dream for the longest time, especially after it was originally taken off Toonami and when the DVD releases just stopped after season 3 with no word from Funimation.
I'm glad we've made it this far.
-
Some good news for the Australia fans of One Piece. The home video release of the dub starting up again with the first two volumes of Punk Hazard (Season 10, Voyage 1 and Season 10, Voyage 2) in October.

We are eating boy, i love it! Reaching the WCI climax who would've thought would be closing the gap or making it this far with the dub

Don’t remind me of these days. Waiting for Water 7 dub was a nightmare. Two years, I think. Then another two or three years after FI.
-
@Zephray Oh... but it was more than just two years. We managed to see up to the rest of Skypiea (via the Australian TV broadcast) by 2008, then we started all over from the beginning with the DVDs. We didn't get Water Seven until late 2012. That's FOUR years between Skypiea and Water Seven! Nearly half a damn decade. The only glimpse we had at anything past Skypiea was Unlimited Adventure.
The manga was at such a crawl too, coming out at an excruciating 3 volumes a year while being almost ten years behind Japan. It seemed like it was going to continue at that rate forever until they announced in summer 2009 that a speed-up would happen during the first half of 2010. It was so exciting to be a fan back then.
-
Oh wow thats very soon im loving these monthly releases even though i always finish the episodes in a day
, the only downside i see is this set will have one less episode
-
I originally caught up right after Alabasta, when the pieces of a ship was falling from the sky. I’ve been waiting for these not so regular releases ever since that day. Haven’t switched to subbed yet!

Yeah, I was going off memory. Not surprised it was longer. I remember being really heartbroken about it for a while because W7 is my favorite arc and I loved the dub (was also the only way my wife, then girlfriend, has ever consumed OP). But at least we were getting dubbed content for some of that time.

Nope. It has the usual twelve episodes.

I marathoned a couple episodes last night. The BM flashback episodes. Really didn’t like Carmel’s voice. She sounds good when she’s introduced as a young woman, but then she ages and it sounds like they kept the same actor. Sounds like a young woman pretending to be old. I’m sorry to be too negative, but I really do feel like the quality of the past year or two has been worse than even when Joel was directing. Between all the engineering mistakes, the terrible musical numbers, and very few of the deliveries ever being remarkable, I haven’t been wild about the quality of the dub lately. Even just adding a little base to the voices would make everything sound better.
That said, I’m okay with it because that’s the trade off you need to make for monthly sets. They’re really cranking these out and can’t afford to be more precious/careful while still meeting these crazy deadlines. The trade off is worth it for me, but still frustrating.
-
I disagree with you on that. Since I think the dub sounds fine as usual to me from just finishing up Dressrosa on the blu ray release.

Wait until you get to the six episodes where they forgot to pitch Jinbei and he has a very high voice…
-
It a good chance they will fixed it for the home video release. They have fixed stuff from the digital release to the home video release before.
-
I mean yeah there have been issues here or there, but I've consistently liked the performances. Also legitamately don't understand why the musics hated so much.
-
The Halftime show was One Piece theme including songs from Film Red.
-
I wonder why the episodes are not up for purchase yet
-
Bummer. Hopefully tomorrow.
-
The last batch of episodes also aren’t up on Funimation streaming yet.
-
This was my last vacation day before heading back to work, the plan was to binge all these smh
-
Yea, I was hoping to watch the episodes after work today:/ we’ll get them sooner or later, but I doubt we’re getting anything today
-
Man, whoever is in charge of getting these releases out does not do a good job. I have no idea when or if the last set will even go up on streaming.
-
Yeah back when the forums were down, the set for July released around 4:00AM EST when i get up for work and i remember being so elated to have them downloaded for when i got off
-
Well, not today either…
-
Spain… without the S
-
You know, the more of you that reply to them or @ them on Twitter, the more they'll realize yknow? I'm sure they know already since they haven't tweeted about the set releasing, but contacting Microsoft and Toei through Twitter will do wonders
-
New episodes are up on digital. Same icon image they used for the prior two sets, lol.
-
The death scene was wonderful. Great acting.
-
...Which one? ...lol
-
Pedro. Who else does this set?
-
Kingbaum's death actually got to me here in the dub
-
Lmao. Why did they give BM dinosaur sounds when she’s on her hunger rampage after the cake collapses?
Also, I noticed they randomly forget to pitch Jinbei down often now. Last episode of voyage five I noticed a few times.
-
Don’t know what you mean, I haven’t noticed either of those. I’ve been specifically listening for Jimbei and there’s been points where I’ve questioned? but usually like short lines that are a word or two where it’s hard to tell. No idea what you’re talking abt with big mom. If they DID do that I’d imagine it’s a thing in the original as well?
-
Yeah, I assume the BM thing was in the original. I’m pretty sure they’re lion sounds, actually. It’s in the first episode or two of the new set.
-
So uh, I guess we’re still waiting for set 5 on streaming….
