Already through the Whole Cake episodes. Man, that was fast.

My One Piece rewatch with my fiance just reached post-Marineford. We're at the flashback to Luffy, Ace, and Sabo's childhoods. We're watching on FUNimation's site (well, the TV app), and once the opening changed to "We Fight Together", the video quality seemed to take a nose dive. It's very noticeable when the English text is placed on the screen. The newer episodes seem fine, so I guess it was just something with these particular episodes?

I did this with my then-girlfriend like ten years ago and we still watch the dub together weekly to this day, now married. Have fun! She(?)’s a keeper if she watches all of it with you, lol.

Man, watching episode1015 makes me so excited to hear Kaido in English. The Wano arc is going to be very cool dubbed. I just hope they can slow down the production a little by then to boost back up the quality. I’ve been a little disappointed by the direction lately for the dub, particularly the sound engineering.

I totally forgot there was a brief song in the Seducing Woods. This one was much better. They turned up the base and finally figured out that it’s a supposed to be more spooky. There also aren’t a lot of voices singing on top of each other, so the mixing wasn’t so big an issue.

Watched the first episode with Pound. His delivery of “I love the Apple waterfalls” was pretty hilarious. And Brûlée sounds great! She seems like a good actress, too, which will be good for later when she has to shift a bit.

Only two episodes from caught up in my rationing. I’m praying for a release this week. Will also be excited to get through Cracker all in one set.

Now that I. Studio returning has resumed, maybe they will continue releasing the dub faster?

Once they got the record-from-home thing down, I don't think it slowed them down much. I'm not sure getting back to the studio will speed them up at all, but maybe. That said, I'm thankful for the return to studio because of the professional equipment. Hopefully the voices sound better now–have better capture and mixing since the environment is consistent and controlled.

Really hope for sets coming out every 4 weeks. 5 weeks, like this last one, is okay too. 4 weeks was great because I could up my rationing to 3 episodes per week instead of only two. That would've been particularly useful for this Cracker set. The Seducing Woods is by far my least favorite (and slowest) part of the arc. Some of the antics are cute and fun, but they get tired fast and there's quite a lot of straight-forward fighting.

So far all the voices are great especially the little we heard of Perospero i can't wait to hear more in the next set, and im just thankful we got through the one whole Cracker fight because like you stated before the seducing woods is a lowpoint in Whole Cake

I have finished Collection 29. The dub did a great job on the finales of Bartolomeo and Cavendish vs. Gladius, Franky vs. Senor Pink, Kyros vs. Diamante, and Zoro vs. Pica.

I guess the depth of his voice makes him sound more intimidating? Probably a good thing overall, but you really don’t expect that guy to have a deep voice lol

If Rayleigh only has a brief flashback moment during the Katakuri fight, it's possible they just finished the scripts, and called Rayleigh's actor in to record those quick lines before moving onto the heavier stuff. I bet they jump around episodes quite a bit, depending on when they can schedule actors to come in.

There’s more than just a “brief flashback”; we’ve got a few decently sized flashbacks at several points during the fight.

And while they do probably dub out of order based on actor availability (and probably quantity of material) I doubt they’re ever dubbing things all that soon after they just finished the scripts.

They definitely schedule things out of order. That said, they don't schedule things that out of order. It's safe to assume they're generally in these episodes. Only other scenario I can imagine is they're way ahead of that but the actor wasn't available until now. That said, I doubt they're more than fifty episodes ahead. 30-60 seems like the buffer they tend to prefer on releases; or at least, that's the sense I've gotten over the years. They seem to be on the back end of that, so I'm really hoping for a faster turnaround on the rest of the season. Four weeks would be lovely, but I'm expecting five.

Hello. So yeah, I’ve been working through some very heavy, complex personal things. I am pretty much abandoning all my current social media accounts, so yes unfortunately that means I won’t be posting clips anymore.

However, I figure it can’t help to post here from time to time. I’m still very invested in this dub. I appreciate the concern, it’s nice to know I’ve had some form of positive impact. For the record, this has only been the case for a few months but my pronouns are They/Them, so I would appreciate if everyone used those from now on.

So, honestly I don’t have a whole bunch to say about the recent episodes. Perosperos voice was a bit jarring to me I’ll admit, I’ll have to hear more of it before I form a coherent opinion. Cracker is pretty good, I’m surprised nobody has pointed it out but I instantly recognized him as David Matranga. If you don’t recognize the name he’s most well known as Todoroki in the MHA dub.

Was very frustrating that the voyage ended right before Luffy Vs. Sanji, I’ve been really eagerly anticipating that. One of the best performed episodes in the original, I really wanna see what they do with it.

Yeah, disappointing collection 30 isn’t Fujitora. My best guess is that since they chose a purple-ish color to represent Corazon, they didn’t want to have two collections in a row be similar colors. Rebecca at that point of the arc especially is very much sidelined for the sake of other characters, not even fitting really. I’m pretty sure they chose the world government symbol because she’s royalty and thus somewhat affiliated, but so was Shirahoshi and hers had the unique fishman logo they made.

By the way, did anyone else notice that collections 27 and 28 randomly started using black for the character symbols, but then they switched back to white with 29? Bugs me so badly.

Sorry to hear you’re going through the ringer, mate. Hope things clear up soon. I appreciated how you shared the voice actor credits on Twitter, since they aren’t shown on the actual episodes. That was good of you. Maybe one day you'll feel up for doing that once again.

I’m fine with the set ending where it did because it finished the Cracker fight and a new theme song starts with the first episode of the next set (finally!). They took way too long to do a new theme song for this arc. But yes, definitely excited for the next set. Hopefully it'll be out in a week and a half.

I finished Collection 30 over a week ago, and I'm finally done with the dub of Dressrosa. I have to say that the dub did a great job on the Gear 4 stuff. Also I want to mention that I really like the dub voice of Kaido and it fits him perfectly.

Wooooo! So glad the forums are back! How long was that hiatus? I’m thrilled. Someone sent me a mean DM asking me to shut up right before the forums went down, so I’ll try to post less frequently in case I’m pissing anyone off, I guess.

Anyways, I’m happy with Katakuri’s voice! It’s smooth and deep. Not too hard to please for him. I’ve been slow in my rationing, trying to go real slow lately. Just got to the batch of episodes where they forgot to pitch Jinbei’s voice. Oh boy. They had to forget it during an episode where he monologues for ten minutes about Capone. Of course. Ah well. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again and they fix it for the blurays. Did those stop coming out? Man, they’re so darn far behind it seems like they’ve stalled out a bit.

My wife and I breezed through the voyage 4 stuff, she wouldn’t let us stop till Sanji and Luffy made up so that was a whole evening, leaving very little for the following evening so we just finished them up. Luckily the next set isn’t far behind!

Don't know if you bought them all yet, but seriously think about what's best for you. You can watch the entire subbed series online for free, the dub for a nominal fee. Even the movies are making their way to Netflix. It's great to buy what you want to own forever, but there's no reason it has to be all of it right now if it puts you at financial risk.

It's okay, man. I have enough money to pay the bills for the next 7 or 8 years. I'm just using spare money so I can legally buy all of them so that counts as a sale for Crunchyroll. So it'll be fun. I just use Amazon Gift Cards instead to buy stuff on Amazon I will only get them in a big pack so my family will be shocked in excitement.

Plus, Rightstuf is sold to Crunchyroll and given they gonna get rid of any series that is not for young kids I just rather get them on Amazon cause I'm used to the site and I never shop from RightStuf so yeah.

Amazon used to have sales. I feel like I haven’t seen entertainment on sale there for years. I used to purchase books and discs on Amazon way more. I’m thankful for rightstuf’s sales but frustrated that I have to continuously check their site to see if the two or three items I want happen to be on sale. Wish there was a sale notification for specific items.

From what I understand the Reverie will be part of Season 13. I'm more or so curious to know if they are going to split Wano in two seasons or not. Because Wano looking it could be almost 190 - 200 episodes currently.

Plus, it's not done yet in the anime so basically, we just catch up to it. And basically this will be the first time we caught up before 2024

Y'know, at the rate this is going I think we could be at the beginning of Wano by the end of this year, or at least early 2023. The speed of these releases is insane compared to how it used to be back when the DVDs started releasing in 2008.

This really reminds me of the manga speed-up in 2010, but even then that was marketed as a big event as opposed to the dub here.
