Does anyone have crunchyroll? How much of the OP dub is on there? I’m waiting for them to get the new episodes, then I’ll switch.

None of the dub is on Crunchyroll yet. I'm waiting for it to be transferred over before I delete my Funi account
-
Funimation is still moving stuff over to crunchyroll. Besides the One Piece dub, they still haven't added the dub for Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Z sub, Fairy Tail dub, and other stuff.
-
None of it is on there from what I can see. Are there actually concrete plans to move the dub there? If so I'm guessing it's because of the Sony stuff, but I can't really find anything.
-
They supposed to be moving everything over to Crunchyroll, since they are going to be phasing out the Funimation brand itself according to the press release.
And it already started since they moved the Funimation store to the Crunchyroll store and Funimation isn't doing anymore simulcast, since they're moving all the simulcasts to Crunchyroll.

Taking a risk as well as my job money for something like this. Lord help me now I'm going to stockpile for the anime when I get the chance to watch all 1000 episodes soon. Wish me luck?Don't know if you bought them all yet, but seriously think about what's best for you. You can watch the entire subbed series online for free, the dub for a nominal fee. Even the movies are making their way to Netflix. It's great to buy what you want to own forever, but there's no reason it has to be all of it right now if it puts you at financial risk.
-
Also, there are better sales out there than buying from Amazon, especially for those more recent ones.
-
I disagree, Amazon got most of the sets more cheaper then most of the other stores.

Without sales, yes. I'm talking about with sales. I bought all the old collections for $15-$17.50 on sales, usually RightStuf. You just have to be patient.

Man, I just watched BM's musical number side-by-side Japanese/English. What a disappointment the English dub was. I was complaining about the sound mixing before, which is most of the problem (not enough base, voices garbled, BM too quiet), but also the tone is way off. It's spooky af in the original and far more cheery in the dub. God, did they miss the mark here. That's one of my favorite parts of WCI, too.

It looks like the assumptions were indeed correct, as "English Uncut" episodes are listed on Funimation's streaming schedule for Tuesday 4/12 at 4pm CT

Lol. And now we need to check the Microsoft store every Tuesday.

July: Season 11 - 13 (Sabaody - Impel Down)Where did you get this information?
-
The new to Netflix episodes of One Piece was announced on the One Piece news coo video that came out over a week ago. The three seasons a month from May - July was announced by Netflix in Brazil.

Oh ok will it only be in Brazil then?
-
No, The US, Latin America, Canada, and Australia are getting these episodes and batches in May - July as well on Netflix.

I think a good place to talk about this. Since it been a major talking point in the english dub anime community the last couple of weeks because of the Funimation and Crunchyroll merging together and it could affect the One Piece dub and many other dubs in the future.

Now’s the time, considering the merger. We’ll see what happens. Would need to be a large scale actor revolt for CR to switch to only union shows.
-
I got Collection 29 today. It's somewhat sad that's this is the final One Piece home video release under the Funimation brand. Starting with Season 11, Voyage 8 it's going to be a Crunchyroll home video release.
-
I bought a couple of the Manga UK One Piece Collections. Has it just been years since I watched the American collections/videos in 480p or is the video quality just… bad.
-
Yeah, DVD quality is pretty terrible. Funimation also has shitty encoders, so sometimes their blurays don’t really look quite as sharp as they should (but this isn’t noticeable to most people).

Huh. Aren’t these voices who haven’t premiered yet?
-
No, all the characters who have been announced so far did have speaking roles in s13v1 (even if only briefly)

I'm not seeing the new dub eps on FUNi's site yet.
EDIT - Nevermind. All the episodes are up. For some reason, I can't see them on FUNi's website/player. But I can see them on the FUNi app on my TV.
The animation for "WE CAN!" does update to the Whole Cake Island version.
-
I had totally forgotten Zeus, Prometheus, and Napoleon were in this set. Skipped ahead in my rationing to listen to them. Though I only heard one like from each, they all sound good! I think we’ll be hearing Zeus until the end of OP (why don’t people consider him a crew member at this point?), so that voice is more important than his introduction implies.

Marcus Stimac is now one of our directors, btw.

Young Sanji is again Megan Shipman. https://twitter.com/18moptop/status/1514230228939378698?s=21&t=FJcYOcLWuzMB-64umcFG6Q

Brulee says since November. That means they’re five months ahead in production. Probably recording the fifth or sixth WCI set by now.

Has it just been years since I watched the American collections/videos in 480p or is the video quality just… bad.
I remember Seasons 4-9 looking decent, limitations of 480p aside. I swear the video is more pixelated and the encoding gets worse when they switch to Punk Hazard, though. Actually, here's a comparison of the opening to prove I'm not crazy. IMO, the SD episodes hold up the best on DVD because they use thicker line-art.
Thank Eneru that we're getting Blu-rays now, it's just a shame that Toei didn't let that happen in 2012. -
It feels good to know that they are that far ahead, really hoping for a new batch this month,
-
Yeah, I feel like they can afford to do one per month now, but we have no idea how or if the merger will affect releases.
-
I had assumed FUNi was going to give Napoleon, Prometheus, and Zeus the same voice actor, like in Japanese. Looking forward to hearing them.

s11v9 on dvd/blu July 5:
https://store.crunchyroll.com/products/one-piece-season-11-voyage-9-blu-ray
I guess to make up for 11v8 being released a month later than usual we get this the month after
-
Special feature: "lightning round with the villains." Cute. Nice cover, too.
Haven't preordered on CR yet. Still bummed I won't get a discount like I did with the Funi store. Will probably wait until these build up to get their $100 discount thing. I wish they'd implement a 15-20% off for subscribers like Funi did.

Is it still weird for anyone seeing the Crunchyroll label on those DVD box sets and not the Funimation label?
-
Marcus seems like a really great addition, and it's good to know that Mike is still directing cause he hasn't been on any released WCI episodes yet
-
Hopefully they will catch up and simuldubs the series, esp with the help of remote recording, and go back and dub the older movies.
-
Just got to the first episode with Pound and he straight-up sounds like a Griffin McElroy “fancy lad” character and that is an inspired choice.
-
So are we expecting the new episodes to drop this upcoming Tuesday
-
Am watching through the early Whole Cake Island eps now on FUNi…the episode where Big Mom's hunger pangs begin...did anyone else experience some audio issues with it? On that entire episode, all of the audio seemed to be mixed wrong, and it was only coming out of my right-most speakers, with most of the audio emanating from the rear-right speaker. The other episodes seem to be fine so far.
-
Yeah, we watched those two episodes in a row and had to change the volume. I noticed something was off but didn’t know what.
-
It sounds like the left/right channels could be out of sync/phase with each other. That would potentially cause a tinny sound and throw the audio to the rear speakers on 5.1 systems.
-
So are we expecting the new episodes to drop this upcoming Tuesday
I am hoping, but that’s best case scenario. The usual length of wait is one more week.
-
Bummer. Nothing today. Hopefully next week.
-
Any ideas as to who's voicing Chiffon? Is it Lola's actress with a Brooklyn accent?
-
Just finished the first half of Collection 29 (Season 11, Voyage 6). The dub did a great job on the Law's flashback episode.
-
Any ideas as to who's voicing Chiffon? Is it Lola's actress with a Brooklyn accent?
Nope
-
Already through the Whole Cake episodes. Man, that was fast.
My One Piece rewatch with my fiance just reached post-Marineford. We're at the flashback to Luffy, Ace, and Sabo's childhoods. We're watching on FUNimation's site (well, the TV app), and once the opening changed to "We Fight Together", the video quality seemed to take a nose dive. It's very noticeable when the English text is placed on the screen. The newer episodes seem fine, so I guess it was just something with these particular episodes?
