Lmao, how else, silly?
Shipping confirmation through e-mail, of course. Duh.
A vote for Trunp is a vote for Akainu. I prefer Tsuru, thank you. She might be a little corrupt because of her connections with the five elder stars, but at least she won't kill everyone we hold dear.
I hope we get a theatrical trailer for One Piece Film: Gold sometime this month.
I got Season 8, Voyage 4 today. I really like the dub voice for Sabo so far.
Roger roger roger he's your father father father haha I laughed so hard at that. The comedy on this set was hilarious and sabo's voice improved a lot from the first episode.
Well im pissed the reason i bouht this set was to get the textless opening of We fight together, only learn its going to be in the next set -___-
But as for the Episodes they are so fantastic and getting my all teary eyed when they talk about their dreams

It's always on the second disc, dude. Lmao.
This my first time purchasing the DVD set lol
I'm finishing up on Season 8, Voyage 4. Stelly's voice in the dub fits him perfectly.
Random request but could anyone upload the FUNi version of the Fight Together OP? I wanna see how they recreate the logo transition.

Isn't FUNi going to announce their February releases soon?
The Funimation releases for February are out now. There is no new release for One Piece. But One Piece Collection 18 is coming out on February 14th.
So we'll have at least a two month break…
So we'll have at least a two month break…
We'll most likely get an announcement for the next set with the March releases because they've been busy dubbing Film Gold and Heart of Gold.
I don't mind the break at all. I rather they take their time on the series, then rush through it.
I don't like breaks. As I mentioned before, I'm only okay with breaks if they're putting our specials or movies during those breaks.
Though I suppose Gold is in theaters in January, so that counts for something.
Season 8 Voyage 4 has an episode 503 commentary featuring Morgan Garrett (young Sabo) and Chris Burnett (young Ace).
Telling you now, I would place bets on Morgan Garrett voicing
! Carrot someday.

That most definitely counts for something especially because it'll probably come out on home video soon after and they're also dubbing Heart of Gold and 3D2Y is still supposed to come out soon so we'll hopefully and most likely get the next set in either March or April. This won't be like the break in between Seasons 3 and 4, they've been dubbing an hour and a half long TV special and a two hour long movie for One Piece (being Heart of Gold and Film Gold) which seem to both be directed by Joel who usually directs the dub of the show so they're likely finishing those up soon and will get back to the show after that.
There's also an extra with four staff members (including Mike and Joel), which is sort of an introspective on Ace's death, and how it affects the franchise. Pretty neat.
If they're going to take a break anywhere, I'd rather it be here than anywhere else.
Agreed, now would be the perfect time to dub the rest of the movies before moving on with the timeskip, if they do intend to dub the other movies
It was posted in the Film Gold thread already, but I figure it should be posted here too.

I think said character would be played by someone with a kind of starfire-ish voice

Woot! I was starting to get worried we wouldn't get a trailer soon. Teaser got me hyped.
But who's playing Tesoro? That voice sounds familiar.

One Piece and Yugioh movies both in January is going to be so hyped

Heart of Gold as well? I liked that special a lot so I'm glad.
Also, I don't know anything about Film Gold outside the Japanese previews so I saw a few new scenes in that preview. I'm wondering what the heck is going on and why Nami and Franky were shrunk down on some kind of game with Robin and Brook above them. Smells like another weird Devil Fruit. Guess I'll find out soon enough.
I haven't seen Film Gold yet, but does anyone who has know if we will hear any new dub voices for the first time?
! I know Sabo is in it, so that's one I'm looking forward to hearing

I think just them, really. Unless you wanna count the movie characters.
On another note… I hope this theatrical run does well enough.
I'm already seeing a bunch of comments of people complaining about the sub not being shown and refusing to go see it because of that.
Couple that with OP's relative un-popular-ness (although it's gotten better in that regard, admittedly) in the states and we have an iffy situation. I know it's only a limited release, but still...

People will let up, I have hope that people aren't that ignorant.

The problem with the One Piece fanbase is that the grand majority prefers the sub.
They hate the dub so much that they can't see beyond their narrow vision and won't go out to support the theatrical release, when that would only hurt the franchise in America (if it does bad).
Just comparing the trailer comments on YouTube to other releases such as the recent DBZ movies and the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh movie and Sailor Moon movie…. most of the comments with those seem to be more positive, ironically. Even though those shows typically have worse dubs, they have something the One Piece dub doesn't - the power of nostalgia. They grew up with said dubs, so most people prefer those to the original.
One Piece doesn't have that luxury, so it might have a tough battle ahead, unfortunately. Perhaps FUNi should do a sub/dub theatrical release with One Piece, due to it's overwhelming sub fanbase. Oh well.

I am pretty sure Funimation chose to do a dub only release for a reason. They are confident that the movie will do well enough and unfortunately you are right that One Piece doesn't have the nostalgia factor on its side and we all know why. I am not going to let the Weebs ruin my experience, i know the movie will be perfectly voiced.
It goes without saying people who only like the sub won’t go to see the dub. But the dub has had its own fanbase that has kept it afloat for 9 years. They wouldn’t have let it run this long and released over 500 episodes and 3 movies (and soon some specials) of a show that is “unpopular”. It might not be the most popular anime for Funimation, but clearly it must have sufficient enough popularity if it has even gotten this far. At this point they probably know what to expect from the dub franchise and thus have a general idea of what to expect from this type of release, and they apparently decided these screenings were worthwhile.
Also I’m pretty sure these limited releases are intended to be more “promotional” than anything. Regardless of how much it ultimately makes, having an anime movie screened in actual theaters would draw it more attention from potential new viewers than a straight to dvd release would.

I do wonder how much pull the dub really has. The DVD releases obviously sell well, but they do also contain the Japanese track so there's no way to tell if the sales are mostly because of the dub (or vice-versa).
Just annoys me how the sub fans in One Piece are so against the dub. This show has a great dub. Structurally better than DBZ's and YU-GI-OH's anyway… and yet FUNi's One Piece dub gets way more flak than those two. Makes no damn sense and really does drive home how toxic the OP fan-base is compared to others...
I have a very hard time believing most people who buy the DVDs do so for anything but the dub (or both), especially when subtitled episodes are readily available online from official and non-official sources. A large portion of fans aren't even willing to pay money, so I doubt "sub-only" people would support releases that in any way benefit the dub (they'd probably consider it a matter of principle…or something).
Most dubs seem to be generally hated by large portions of fan-bases; unfortunately, it’s just the way it is. Yet these dubs still get made, so they must not be as hated as a lot of online fans might have you believe.
The online people complaining about the dub are just louder than the neutral or positive parties. They are likely a smaller fraction of the larger fanbase as a whole who either like both dub and sub and may lean toward sub for some cases (like me) or who prefer the dub. Either way, don't let such comments get you down. One Piece has received a dub for nearly 500 episodes now. There's absolutely no reason to fear the series not doing at least decent by market standards.

I AGREE WITH YOU.
they should be greatful 4kids does not dub it anymore.
Is that line when Robin wins the casino game in the trailer actually from Robin? Because it doesn't sound exactly like her so it could be a line from like Bacarat or just Robin sounding a little different. Stephanie Young has definitely not been recast obviously so it has to be one of the two things I said above.

Thanks! Wish it could've been closer to the original but not bad!
