Haha. That I do. I've been watching like two per week as is. Trying to slow it down even more so that we can marathon the upcoming flashback. The faster this all releases, the better imo.

Honestly, I'm just excited for more specials/movies to be dubbed. There's been a few good ones that they've missed along the way. Do we assume that this is the special they were securing back when we thought it would be 3D2Y?
Makes sense that they wouldn't do the backlog for specials– interested in having separate home video releases with movie-length content. Hopefully this one sells well enough for them to do more.

Oh shit. I think I finally understand how the CrunchyRoll deal affects One Piece. They said they'd have time to dub more shows now that they're focusing on dubs. What we didn't realize is that they don't only have time to dub more new shows, but also more OP movies/specials!
I really hope that is the case. I would love to see more of the specials/movies…mostly movie 6 though. I really want that one. Though with heart of gold being official now, now I have to sit here and wait to see how the dub the song in the film. It is going to be so good
If they stick to a monthly release then Fishman Island should go by in a breeze which is good, now the real culprit is going to be when they get Dressrosa, even with a monthly schedule i have a feeling that will still drag.

I would love if starting next year, we got eight voyage sets a year.
The release schedule for the sets have been inconsistent due to various reasons.

oh, wow! So much news on here today. Voyage 5 cover looks fantastic! Awesome to see pre-timeskip being completed before the end of the year! With voyages four and five releasing so close together, I'll definitely wait on these episodes to watch the arc in one go, like I am doing for Marineford. (which I could probably get started on pretty soon here). I haven't seen Heart Of Gold yet, but I don't feel any need to watch it in Japanese now, so I'll watch that and Film Gold in English without having seen either in Japanese. I think 3D2Y is still a possibility, perhaps even already dubbed, and we may get a release on that before Season 9. FUNimation hasn't released any OP specials yet, I wonder how they'll go about it. So much to be excited about!

Probably by itself, but obviously I'd prefer it to come with more specials.
If a convention is coming up Funimation needs to have a special panel explaining what all they will be dubbing faster and what it will mean for certain shows fans

Now thats for the regular timeframe. If Funimation were to to say double that amount due to no longer having to deal with Subs then i can easily see DVDs output increase.

I got Season 8, Voyage 3 today. I just got through episode 483.
! The dub did a great for the entire episode in my opinion. The final scene with Ace did make me tear up and Luffy's reaction to it made it even harder not to tear up.

Yes Colleen and Travis really rocked them emotional scenes, this was more emotional for me than that Japanese version, Colleen's final cry actually sounded like Luffy was crying and not that he was laughing like in the original.
Well I just got through 485.
! Whitebeard's final moments was dub pretty well. I have to give props for both Whitebeard and Blackbeard's voices for doing a great job on the episode. I'm enjoying the voices of the new members of the Blackbeard Pirates.

! The dub handle the end of Marineford really well from the point of Coby's speech pleading for the war to stop to Shanks making his big return to stop Akainu's attack. Even through he was only in one moment in a episode. I really like Brownbeard's voice for the dub.

It only lasts about a second but it seems to occur while the One Piece logo shows regardless of what episode I'm watching, and occasionalyl in additional spots. It doesn't really impact my watching experience too much, but I'd like to get rid of it if possible.
I just finished watching the new batch of episodes and now I'm sad. Seeing Luffy in such a broken state hurts my heart so much, and I can kinda empathize with him too. Other than that, all the voices were really well done, even surpassing the original Japanese voices at times!
Now the wait for November begins…

Yeah she stated in an interview once that she was prepared for these recordings and knew there would be a lot of yelling and saying the word Ace over and over. I really hope it didnt do any damage to her voice because she really brought it in those scenes.
So I've been watching Marineford as a whole, and am not quite through it, but have gotten past the first two sets.
I didn't really notice the inconsistent name pronunciations that people seemed to be complaining about. All the Akainus and Sengokus I could remember hearing sounded the same. The one thing that bothered me regarding pronunciation though was the pronunciation of Sakazuki, to me it sounds like they say "suh kazuki" every time.
The voice acting has been fantastic, and I really love all the voices, and it's especially great to hear more of Robert McCollum's Doflamingo. My only complaints for what I've seen so far would be: the aforementioned pronunciation of Sakazuki, one line of Ivankov's was a bit awkwardly delivered (near the beginning of episode 479 "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it, Dragon?"), and the missing Mihawk line (seriously, how did this mistake slip? twice?). Anyways, it's been a great arc so far and I can't wait to finish watching it, especially since I haven't read or watched Marineford since it aired in Japanese.
I think when we said Akainu's name was incorrectly pronounced, we meant both his first and last name. I definitely noticed more variations on Sakazuki than Akainu.

Akainu doesn't have a first and last name; his name is Sakazuki and his alias is Akainu (Red Dog). And I didn’t hear any variations on either while watching this season.

Akainu has been correctly pronounced since basically post-Sabaody. It's only Sakazuki which has recently been changed, although they've been consistent in pronouncing it the "incorrect" (IMO) way.
Sengoku was pronounced consistently correctly on the latest set.
