I'm liking the S8V2 cover. The use of Whitebeard's shockwaves as a divider is a nice way to include all the important players without making the artwork overly crowded (the problem many of the over covers suffered from). Although the perspective from of Luffy and Whitebeard still looks kinda odd.

I miss that six week schedule; though it isn't a big deal.

Oh man, we're getting closer and closer to that moment. Voyage 2 cover looks great! Also, Voyage 3 will be a pretty cool set as it'll have that scene dubbed and the first Toriko crossover episode.

On the list of seasons that they just licensed, Season 8 has no missing episodes so yeah probably.

Even if they didn't have the crossover episodes, I would imagine they would simply skip that episode number, to keep our numbers in line with the Japanese. So saying they have episodes xxx ~ yyy doesn't really tell us much.

So uh, no one's entitled to do this but, Google had made it possible to use images as wallpapers for a custom case. Was kinda hoping someone can take the newly released voyage image and cut out the borders so that I can use it as a custom case for my phone

2015: 6If it wasn't for the year-long gap in 2011-12 without any new voyages, the dub would probably already be at the end of Fishman Island/beginning of Punk Hazard.
If they're planning a speed-up, then 7-8 voyages a year for about three years would help shorten the distance between the dub and the simulcast. -
I can't imagine getting more than seven. Though I doubt we'll get more than six. Six isn't a bad number, but it only catches is up 24 episodes a year. For every 12 episodes dubbed, eight episodes air (2 months). So we're not exactly going to catch up anytime soon.
But I'm not too worried about catching up. I'll just be thankful to be moving into these post-time skip years. It'll be so bizarre to see those episodes in English; also because that's where I started consistently watching the subbed weekly.

The streaming schedule isn't always up to date nor does it always show everything that is going to be released in a given month (I've particularly noticed this with One Piece). If you're trying to imply that maybe the release date might be delayed then that is not necessarily the case; this might not mean anything at all.
Also, on another note, the dub for episodes 457 and 458 are available on Funimation's website now (but they're the two recap episodes, so I'm not sure most of you would care…)

Ah yes, there is that.
But, beyond that, there's not really much there. I mean, I guess its nice there is more new footage in these episodes then the last recap episodes (most of the new footage in the other recaps was just footage used again in episode 284), but it doesn't really amount to much. Its basically just filler meant to transition between flashbacks.

I think the whole voyage 6 hasn't been released yet because the release date is technically on the 26th. That is how the usually do it. As for Jimbe's voice, I have always loved it. I think it fits him perfectly. It was only that first scene he was in which sounded weird to me

It seems like the streaming schedule they are currently going for (based on how they handled these last two voyages) is to have the first two episodes available to preview 6 weeks in advanced and then streaming the rest on the actual release day, instead of the streaming two weeks in advanced like they were doing before. Because of how close the releases of s7v6 and s8v1 were in this instance, their scheduling caused the beginning of season 8 to come out ahead of the end of season 7.

Bad pacing, didn't cover all the important plots due to the length of the special, CGI is bad, bad animation that had to be re-done for home release (didn't make much of a difference). The music is good, not much else to say about it. Although the manga arc is great Episode of Merry doesn't translate well for One Piece newcomers unlike many of the other specials. A One Pace version of the original arcs mixed with the special could work better.
I rant too much on AP.

From what I hear, though, plenty of people still, at least, enjoyed it. Did it tackle Water 7 / Enies Lobby in one film? That's crazy; of course it'll be mangled.

You can find it online if you know where to look, but its really not as bad as they're making it out to be. The DVD release fixed a bunch of the animation problems, as they usually do. As for the plot itself, it's supposed to be the Enies Lobby and Water 7 arc from Usopp's perspective told to Brook, with Merry's plot as the focus. So it covers everything related to her, and glosses over most of Robin and Franky's plot points. It's still interesting at the least, it's just not the arcs in their entirety, instead, just a focus on one of many plotlines

I'd forgotten that there was a mini arc at the end of this set. Very excited for those episodes, for some reason.

Amazon got a listing of what the extras for Season 8, Voyage 1 is.
The commentaries for the set will be episode 462 and episode 468, and the Straw Hat extra thing that they been having for the last couple volumes with the Straw Hats voices will be Robin's on Season 8, Voyage 1.

I doubt we will see the One Piece tv series on bluray over here. Mostly because other countries that is releaseing the series already got to point of Punk Hazard is only releasing Punk Hazard and Dressrosa on dvd only.
