Welp even if it's not until June, at least we have a timeframe. I kind of want to get past Fishman Island and to Punk Hazard and Dressrosa so I'm definitely glad to be getting the ball rolling again here.

I'm looking forward to seeing Fishman Island again for the first time since they originally aired (but this time dubbed and marathoned) Hopefully this will give me some new perspective on the arc and the animation quality (hopefully its better than I remember, it usually is)
As for Season 9, I'm guessing we'll get 5 voyages, with 11 episodes on each (this one has 12, and I think there are about 56 episodes in this season)

Did they announce the official episode count or are we just guessing?
Can't wait for Punk Hazard. I'm sure FI will be fun enough to fly through; hopefully the new release schedule is monthly.

Fishman Island is enjoyable enough for sure. Definitely looking forward to it. But the material after is where the hype is for me so at least that's in the foreseeable future now.

I have a feeling Season 9, Voyage 2 will be 13 episodes due to Episode 542 is the next Toriko crossover episode. Here is my prediction for the rest of Season 9.
Season 9, Voyage 1: 517 - 528 (12 episodes)
Season 9, Voyage 2: 529 - 541 (13 episodes)
Season 9, Voyage 3: 543 - 553 (11 episodes)
Season 9, Voyage 4: 554 - 564 (11 episodes)
Season 9, Voyage 5: 565 - 574 (10 episodes) -
I have a feeling that it'll be 13 episodes per set after the first one and 542 will obviously be skipped along with the season ending with a 10 episode set so the Z's Ambition arc can be in Season 9

Where would the split be?
The 1st episode of Part 2 will likely be anywhere between episodes 680 and Episode 687. Birdcage/new intro is a good halfway point for Part 2.

Hate to say it, but the only arcs I've loved since the time skip are Punk Hazard and Zou. I'm not too anxious to be in the throws of Dressrosa yet again.

yea that is going to suck having to go through all of those episodes again, though thankfully it will probably be awhile before it gets dubbed, so I might be more willing to go through it again by then. also I believe it will be much easier going through it marathon style with 12 episodes each set, then watching it go by slowly weekly.

For the most part it seems like alot of passion is missing from these episodes. Or something.
I didn't feel that way on the return to sabaody. Can't even remember punk hazard, dressrosa was on and off for me. Zou was definitely most alive the production team had felt for me.

Well Dressrosa has its downs but Doflamingo, Fujitora, Sabo, and quite a few other characters make the downs worth the ups.

?Just looking at this reminds me why I was upset at Funi for taking so long with the release schedule. The show really drags during the time skip and going on a slow 2 month or even worse schedule is gonna be unbarable. Like, I get they have other anime to dub but I don't get what's wrong with a faster release schedule just a tad.

I always feel sorry for David Moo being forever remembered for that role, since he's actually done some solid work in other shows like Irresponsible Captain Tylor (OVA 3) and Gokusen. It's not his fault the directors wanted him to act like a mook with the sniffles.

Fun trailer; doesn't really get me too excited, though. Not crazy about the mini-arc coming up. Will look forward to getting into the heat of Fishmen Island.
We should hear in a few days whether or not Voyage 2 will be out in July. Keeping my fingers crossed. Would love to start seriously catching up to the sub.

They always list One Piece (and DragonBall Super) with their simuldubs, which I believe are the only series they release in a subbed simulcast format anymore.
I know that in the manga Oda originally drew post-timeskip Zoro with the wrong sheath on Shusui. I noticed in the trailer shusui had the right sheath but still had the cord on it from the wrong sheath.
