Every trailer so far has been a commercial for Gran Tesoro. This movie looks boring. …bought my ticket already.
And this is like the fifth time you've said this. No offense dude but we get it

Well, that's because I've been giving that response to every new trailer. They're all doing the same thing: introducing the city. Makes it look like the plot of the film is gambling.

That's because it is, to an extent. The setting is a big aspect to the movie.
The two trailers from FUNi don't show as much as the trailers leading up to the Japanese release did.
No Sabo, Koala, Lucci, Akainu, no hints of the movie's driving conflict, practically no fighting shown, only a glimpse of the race that happens in the movie…...
FUNi needs to show more clips and cap the promotion with an exciting action-filled trailer before January.

I think the main trailer manages to show the conflict off fine. This movie isn't as fight heavy as Z, anyway.
So Mike has some involvement in the dub of Film Gold as he apparently directs the English versions of the songs in the movie as stated here by Carina's English VA:

Ah, would this be Cole Brown's last contribution?
Hopefully the replacement can at the very least inherit Cole Brown's spirit and make it as consistent as possible while still making the role their own.

I for one think the movie looks great? Why? Because this movie will actually show the Straw Hats adventuring together for the first time in a long time and not split up for 100 episodes. I think you guys need to lighten up and have a more open mind.
I have to say that the Goa Kingdom flashback episodes were very good, perfectly paced, filler wasn't too bad, the animation was top notch

Another Film gold clip. Better than the last one.

Because of fighting, most likely.
But the last clip was more creative and was actually edited together in house by FUNI in a funny and creative way.
This is just a clip from the movie.
You're right, but I like this one because it's something different. The last four clips/trailers have all been exploring the city. Too much of the same makes me like this trailer better.
This may be a random request but can anyone upload the One Piece Outtakes.
I've only seen three, but this latest clip is labeled as 5. Any idea which ones we're missing?

I'm not sure if I'm following the count in correct order, but so far, it seems we have five (excluding the ANN one):

Theres supposedly a clip here, but I can't seem to make it play
EDIT: Oh, and here's another one:
Was that one song during the opening credits always in English?
Was that one song during the opening credits always in English?
Gold and Jive?
No, that was in Japanese. FUNi will be translating it.\
EDIT: In a semi-unrelated but related post…. DA HELL? The new Yugioh movie is getting a wider release than One Piece and even DBZ with normal multiple showings per day. That ain't fair. Why does that get special treatment.
I mean... it's getting better treatment than even the 2 latest DBZ movies.

Are you still complaining about this crap? :getlost:

I just find it odd that YuGiOh is getting a wider more normal release than even freak'n DBZ.
Look, if you don't care, then simply don't respond. Making a post like the one you did is pointless.

Well the Original Yugioh was very huge hear in America, i remember everyone used to collect Yugioh cards back then

Exactly! lol
Even I watch the original Yugioh! and I have not watched the other newer shows as I got bored of them and just watch some other interesting shows in my spear time.
It's dubbed by a different company; a comparison is invalid.

It's the only anime movie getting a semi-normal release over here. And thats looking at FUNi, Viz, Aniplex, Saban and whoever does Yugioh now (not sure if 4Kids is a thing anymore) Everything else is just getting one/two showings a day. It's odd.
whoever does Yugioh now (not sure if 4Kids is a thing anymore)
Yu-Gi-Oh is handled by 4K Media now, which is essentially the NYC dubbing studio 4Kids ran, except under ownership by Konami (and now exclusively dealing with Yu-Gi-Oh). The rest of 4Kids rebranded as 4Licensing.

While it's obviously not 100% proof, my good buddy Sketch (Scetchor) who runs the Toonami Faithful podcast and regularly has FUNi actors guest star on his podcast, among all else being a huge One Piece and Toonami fan has stated that he was granted a pre-screening to the dub of Film Gold and Sabo is voiced by none other than Edward Elric himself, Vic Micnogna. He states the voice isn't like Ed's tho and it's more calm, cool and reserved. But it's still unmistakingly Vic's voice.
As for Koala, he couldn't tell who voices her. Credits seem to have been left in Japanese.
Again, I know it's not an official post about the matter, but I have little reason to believe this man would lie about this, so I believe it's legit. We'll soon know, either way.
^I'm guessing you didn't mean to quote me there.
Interesting. I'm not sure how to feel about the casting. I'll just have to hear it myself, to see what I think.

tempted to become a FUNi subscriber JUST so I can watch the dubs of 517 and 518
I don't think they're up, are they?
I guess they are (not a subscriber so can't actually check to see if they play the dub track) but on their video page (it's on Page 5 for me) they have 517 and 518 and show the free sub option and a dub option for subscribers
The option to watch it is up but there is no actual video. It is up there by mistake but they haven't fixed it yet

Looking through the source code, it actually points to a real video url with its own authorization key. But that video isn't acutally uploaded. They'll probably add it soon, and just enabled the page early by mistake
Ok, so I caught up on the voyages and am trying to catch up on FUNi's plans for the series. I see in this thread they have been dubbing some of the specials and we may know the episode count for some of the upcoming seasons(but a FUNi rep on Twitter said that was a error on their site so maybe not?)
I also remember hearing about a simulcast dub, I wish that was true. I wouldn't watch, but I would hope that would mean they would release the voyages faster. I hate that we have to wait till at the earliest April for the start of the time skip voyages. Guessing they are trying to time the next season dvd's with the release of film Z? I get the idea if that would be the case, it just sucks we have to wait.
I don't think anyone knows the exact reason why they're taking a bit of a break, but it likely because they've been shifting focus from the series to Film Gold and a few specials. Though no official confirmation has been made that FUNimation is doing specials, the brand manager (at the time) said on the One Piece Podcast that they wanted to do 3D2Y and some other specials, and a segment from some news program in Texas showed footage of them recording the Heart of Gold special. As for a broadcast dub, some rumors stated that One Piece was under consideration for it about a year ago, but no follow up has been made. I think that covers everything we know, but anyone else can feel free to correct or add on to what I said.

New clip of the English dub that features more of the dubbed "Gold and Jive" insert song.

Anime News Network's review of Film Gold is up.
Also, confirmation that Vic Mignogna is voicing Sabo, in case you didn't believe me.
I haven't commented on it yet, but Vic as Sabo is a pick that has been discussed for a long time so I'm glad that he was chosen for the role.
IIRC, he hasn't had any big roles since Ed Elric, so getting to voice a new popular character in a long-runner like One Piece is a massive win.

Well he was Mard Geer (A main arc villian in Fairy tail) pretty recently, as well as also being Ikkaku from Bleach so he's had some major roles other than Ed.

Vic Mignogna also has some big roles in Naruto.
Yeah i was shocked to find out that he was Ikkaku, because he doesn't sound nothing like Edward Elric
He's also Broly from DBZ so… yeah, the guy has amazing range. Sabo's voice is apparently cool and reserved, according to those who saw the dub, so we got that but there's no way to predict how he will really sound since Vic has amazing range lol.
VERY COOL HE SING THE SONGS and now he is in the SHOW. GO VICK.
Very excited. Movie is this week. Can't wait to hear some sabo.
