He didn't have the gura gura back then and now he does+ two years of experience with it. Who knows what combinations of the two fruits he's capable of.

Just thinking about Luffy facing off with Blackbeard is super scary. Knowing what kind of series this is, we can assume that Luffy will beat Blackbeard at the end of the series, but at least right now, I can't even begin to imagine how he's gonna pull that off. Even if he does manage to Awaken his Devil Fruit powers, it's hard to imagine a rubber man beating a guy who can suck everything in, make earthquakes/tsunamis/etc, and who knows what else (since it sounds like Blackbeard's trying to obtain as many Devil Fruits as he can). Thinking about how strong he must be now is chilling.

Same thing with Fujitora, who never tried to kill them at all.
And Kizaru… Well, they had Rayleigh's help and they weren't 'dealing' with him as 'declaring a war' (actually, they've declared war to the WG and the marines ever since they became pirates).
Note that she said 'it' instead of 'he' (/'she'), ('cause yeah if you want to play on the terms you can't stop half-way) which sticks with my first sentence (A Yonko doesn't limit to a single man.)

what's more likely, in my opinion, is luffy resolving sanji's situation baratie style. if luffy put the vinsmoke family in a situation where big mom vouldn't have any interests in tying his family with them, then this marriage could still be avoided. I still can't figure out how luffy could by pass a fight with mom (he had to with krieg) or put himself in a situation where mom would not retaliate with family or friends, it's up to Oda tho.
Maybe the straw hats will find a daughter from Big Mom that isn't bad and take her (by her own will) as a new nakama, thus Big Mom wouldn't do anything to them in fear that they would hurt her dauther (which they wouldn't).

Well, you could say earth quakes are useless against a rubber human, but the darkness one is really dangerous against Luffy and any other df user. That Kurouzu move is OP as F!

The best option is to keep Law as a backup, go altogether to the party and negotiate kaidou defeat with Sanji eventually try to cooperate with big mom until kaidou is done for.
After that Sanji shall deal with his family affair and luffy deal with big mom afterward.
At least this is how i see things but Luffy never think about that kind of things.
So the second option is deal with the samurai hatred problem, keep the alliance with Law that stay on Zou with franky,brook,usopp,nami , Luffy will go with Pekoms and Zoro will go with Robin and Chopper as backup to the tea party.
Like this they still have strong ones to protect zou from kaidou and Luffy won't mess things up at the tea party with Robin that can think, Zoro f8r the strong help in case of a fight and Chopper if needed for his skill as a doctor or as monster chopper.
Sanji must fix his family problem too.
I have a question though is big mom ever messed up with Shanks, will it be time for luffy and shanks to meet? Will shanks hear about this tea party recognize sanji and so will do something?

i don't know and by the way it's all speculation. i was just basing my thoughts on the previous sanji situation and luffy way of negotiation …
let's see what oda is planning to do, it's just so complicated and i can't wait to see how the story unfold. new world is really hard knocks as they said til now

Nothing is on hold. This mission will contain the ongoing development of one of the main characters (something that's definitely important, and not a "side-story"), as well as cause an active conflict to erupt with Big Mom.
You can't act like none of this is important to the story.

Define advancement. Everything that the SHs do makes ripples in the world and the reality they're dealing with. One Piece is a about the adventure, and this is part of the adventure.

Why stick to the plan so much? why are they so important? it's just one path they can take to their ultimate goal. If reality changed, and the old plans don't fit, then make new ones. Everything they do makes them stronger. Hell, the entire first half there was no plan.

It's not possible these guys have been recruited right after the incident. But there's nothing saying they couldn't have sought him out on their own later in their life. Revolutionaries have a pretty big movement. I doubt it's too hard to make contact with and join them.

See, the problem with all of these options is that they require Luffy to think about them. Luffy doesn't think. At most he incorporates the ideas of others if it matches his mood and general agenda.
It's fine, what is good with that it's that Luffy can count on his mates to do things like this, most of the time he doesn't listen and end up doing it his own way though.(water seven when he was supposed to sneak in and got stuck between buildings cause he jumped, enies lobby when he just went ahead and start beating up the marines)
Now it's a delicate situation so he must think a tiny bit or listen to what the others has to say and stick to it.
