@RomanceDawn:
Oh Jinbe won't just sit by but I doubt he'd be given even the slightest chances to retaliate. He and his crew would probably get beaten down in the blink of an eye. I will be extremely surprised if Sanji ends up on Whole Cake and Jinbe and/or his crew arent imprisoned one way or another.
This reminds me of Garp and Ace.
Personally, I don't think I would be surprised if I saw Jinbe was left to roam freely. If he helped Sanji, Big Mom could direct her wrath at his homeland as punishment for defying her. Very risky. That's just my take on it for the moment.
@RomanceDawn:
Luffy purposely destroying the island forces the fish people out of their continued self segregation and keeps Fish Man island from becoming some sort of over powered under water base for an Emperor.
The thing is with the theory that Luffy will destroy the island because it will aid Fishmen in moving to the surface is that he was asked by Fukaboshi to do that, but he insisted on the protection of the island. Kinda feels strange to do the same things for the same reasons but only at different times.
Furthermore, won't defeating the guy, who's trying to realize the idea of using Fishman Island as an underwater empire from which he could 'rule the world' with Poseidon, prevent this disaster without resorting to the total annihilation of the island?
@Jabberwok:
It's outright stated that Neptune and the Ministers would expect Big Mom to interpret the bomb as a declaration of war from Luffy, not Fishman Island. Jinbe is essentially the only one worried about Big Mom targeting Fishman Island.
Well, I couldn't find an outright statement that Neptune and the Minister would expect Big Mom to interpret the bomb as a declaration of war from Luffy instead of Fishman Island.
On the other hand, this is what I found:
This is why Neptune's reaction gave me the impression that Big Mom would interpret that as a declaration of war from Fishman Island.
!
Is this what you were talking about?
!
You might be right about her interpretation of the bomb. That definitely seems to suggest that Luffy and the rest could be in trouble, but it doesn't outright state that.
Concerning Jinbe's awareness of the bomb, I don't think he is aware of it because the fact that the bomb was put by the Minister of the Right inside the box was told to Neptune by the Minister himself in privacy.
@Jabberwok:
Did Scotch have Kaido's flag displayed anywhere around the factory? If he did, then Caribou was likely planning on informing a third party about Shirahoshi, and the only other faction I can think of who might support him is Blackbeard.
Well, normally you put your flag on an island to tell the world that it's yours, as in the case of both Whitebeard and Big Mom; however, it wasn't shown to us that there was a flag on the island. But that doesn't mean there wasn't a flag on the island. Oda goes to great lengths to avoid divulging things before their proper time.
Also, when Drake reached that island for the first time, he was able to recognize that it was Kaido's.
In any case, I don't think we would able to tell this soon who that person is going to be. In my opinion, however, Blackbeard would make a great antagonist in this case, especially because of his ability to destroy islands.
@sggupta:
i think both of those reasons are really most likely not the cause of fishmen island's destruction.i say that because we rarely go back in one piece.so,if we have to go back to fishmen island,you can bet that it will be for a very important reason,and may possibly relate to history of the world.
going back to fi just to have a fight seems inconsistent with how the story has been.of course there is a possibility,but i personally think it's just not happening.
Point taken, but it is known that we would have to go back in One Piece both to Fishman Island in order to fulfill the promise made to Shirahoshi concerning going to the surface (to see a 'real forest') and to Laboon in order to fulfill the promise made to him by Brook. So I don't think it would inconsistent with anything.
@sggupta:
the scenario which is most likely(IMO) is that we know that joyboy made a promise to the previous poseidon,and then also said in the poneglyph that someone will come to fulfill that promise.i think it's pretty apparent that "someone" is luffy,and the promise is most likely a way for fishmen to live under the sun,on the surface. so i think that in order to fulfill the promise of the past made by joy boy,and the current promise that luffy made to shirahoshi(present poseidon) to take her to an actual forest,he will have to destroy fishmen island
Perhaps it will be Luffy who'll fulfill that promise or perhaps it would be someone else. The reason I am saying this is that when Otohime was talking to her sons, she said that there will come a time when a person will appear with the power to guide Sirahoshi and to show her the right path and correct way to use her ability.
!
The silhouette that was drawn of the person who's said is going to do this did not whatsoever resemble Luffy's.
