So I downloaded the movie Ichi the Killer. I didn't want to watch it right away because I was a bit nervous. I'm not the particularly squeamish type, but the torture scenes in the movie are infamous.
To prepare myself, I thought I'd read the manga
Oh boy.
That was probably a smart move on my part.
It is simply the most twisted and disturbing anything that I've ever seen. And I'm completely eating it up. Within 24 hours, I've read 7 volumes - 3 or 4 in one sitting.
Violence, torture, sadism, gore - I thought I knew the meaning of these words before. But geeze. This is just beyond.
I'm rubbernecking this manga. I want to stop looking, but I can't tear my eyes away.

The movie sucks it comes off a bit convoluted & has one of the most crappiest endings I've ever seen in a movie well next to Aliens 3 & Christine
really am trying to get into the manga accept I've put the torrent on the
backburner until I decide to download it but to ask a question does it have male frontal nudity. -
Does it have male frontal nudity?
hahahahahahahaYes.
…
Anyhoo, I just finished it. I'm confused.
Does anyone know how much the movie sticks to the manga? Does it deviate a lot? Is there a lot cut out? Any drastic changes?
Also, will movie help explain ambiguities in the manga? -
That's a turn off now I'm really am hinging on finishing the download
I haven't read the manga obviously but I do know the gore & stomach churning violence is here in the movie at least to some extent the scene where this guy's body just gets twisted & all mangled up too the point where it looks like his skeleton was removed & the scene where Kakihara removes the rings on the sides of mouth were just really creepy
And what make the manga so ambigious

could I have a link were I could download the manga? Ive heard good things, good evil things:evil:

I got it on IRC.
There are some very very disturbing scenes. Some I'm not sure could possibly be done in a live action movie. The nudity never really struck me so much, just because there was always so much more going on in the scene. (And there's plenty of female nudity, too, if that's what you're worried about. ;-) ) But if nudity in manga makes you uncomfortable, I'd wait a few years. In fact, I'd have to say that this manga should carry a warning. Perhaps an 18+ recommendation. I'm not one for censorship or anything, but if ever "mature audiences only" applied, it is now. That being said, unless you have a really strong objection to nudity, I wouldn't let that stop you. If you're just kind of "iffy" about it, give it a go.
It's ambiguous just in the sense that I don't fully understand the ending. I guess there's a lot that's left unsaid for the reader to infer. Maybe I'm just looking at it too hard.

I have no problem with female nudity that's one of the better reason's to love GANTZ even though it does get a bit redundant especially with Kishimoto, it's the male nudity which really throws me off.
If you thought the manga left you puzzled wait til you see the movie
Spoiler: Sorry I had to
You figure the way the plot is going your going to wind up having an anticlimatic battle between Kakihara & Ichi at the end, none of that here and the suicide of Kakihara & the guy who was in charge of Ichi after seeing Kakihara's dead body left more questions than answers but if your still intent on seeing the movie know that there's an animated prequelI got a torrent for the manga off the the Band of Hawks website although I don't remember the actual name of the site
