Chapter 808 - Duke Inuarashi
-
Thank you mangastream! Off to read.
-
Jack the mammoth confirmed! I wonder if his name of drought is litteral or just a metaphor that he destroys everything? I'm really liking the minks so far.
-
Jack being a zoan kind of begs the question of whether he is a smile user. If so I wonder if his drought ability stems from the smile in some way.
-
OH Boy! The 3 calamities !!! And Sicilion…. Awesome!!!
-
It's interesting that the card theme with character names is definitely continuing past Dressrosa. If Kaido is king in this respect, I wonder if Big Mom will be queen? Also curious if the rest of Kaido's "calamities" will have titles based on the 4 horsemen…

At the moment I'm thinking it's just an epithet gained from how he does things seeing as he just wants to skip negotiations and just wreck shit.
-
I'm still very curious what the Swirlyhats did to get their thinks. My theory as to why they are thanking Luffy too is because of his actions on Punk Hazard and Dressarosa. It probably caused Jack to leave Zou and head for Dressarosa, thus "saving" the people of Zou

King Cannon pointed out that you can see the country covered in poison gas in chapter 795. Seems like they were aiming to use Caesar's powers to reverse the effects of his WMD to save Zou and its people.
Though I'm sure that Jack likely got word of Luffy's exploits in Dressrosa and that's what caused his departure. Would make sense for Inuarashi to put 2 and 2 together and thank Luffy especially since we see he's holding a newspaper.
-
My guess is Kaido's highest ranked subordinates/partners follows a Royal Flush Theme.
The Ace: Joker?
The King: Kaido, King of Beasts
The Queen:???
The Jack: Jack of the Drought
The Ten: Probably X Drake. (ancient zoan user we know affiliated with Kaido, happens to have a multiple references to the number 10 (Diez, X) in his name) -
Jack is Kaido's right hand man? That's exciting
-
If every mink is a born warrior, I wonder if the 'electro' is related to the minkmen's fur and static electricity?
-
Yeah, I just don't like Jack. His character so far does nothing for me,
-
A mamoth with bowl cut. Now I'm curious to see what Jack really looks like. And it seems that Inuarashi could handle Jack on his own until Jack finally resolved to using gas weapon.

I guess that the Queen will be one of the disaster three and i guess Drake is ont of them too if not i see this:Joker: Doflamingo
Ace: Kaido
King: One of the disaster 3
Queen: One of the disaster 3
Jack: Jack
X: Drake -
hmm? -
Well it's looking like my theory that present and flashback being weaved throughout the arc could be correct with how things are going.
So Kaido has a group called the three calamities which are probably his strongest captains under him. Will be interesting to know who the other two are, one which I would think would be Drake, since he should have a high position.
One thing that stuck out was the Minks noting what the Gifters bodies looked like when they began to attack. I'm going to assume that this has something to do with the Smiles. Perhaps unlike Jack who can only go full animal form, those with Smiles only get parts of their body mutated.
So the weapon from Punk Hazard gets some more spot light. At first I thought we were going to find out that it was an ancient weapon, but that was wrong. Perhaps this will deal with what Sanji went to do. Jack captured Ceasar Clown and accepted that instead of Raizo and left. Since the minks lost because of Ceasars weapon, Sanji knew that Ceasar being in their hands would cause trouble for the crew eventually. Therefore, he went to retrieve Ceasar to not be used to cause all this chaos.
Great chapter overall with a three musketeer thing going on, and seeing that the Minks, even infants, are a force to be reckoned with.
-
"his kind of a stick in the mud"
why does mangastream even try to be fancy when they don't even know what they're saying
-
Now I can finally say that Raizo is not the damn monkey and that theory was stupid from the start.
-
It seems like the 'Gifters' have the ability to partially transform a part of their body into an animal.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's the ability of SMILE, rather than Zoan's 3 transformation (normal, half-zoan, full zoan) -
The subordinates of Jack seem to have a naming rule too.
Sheepshead and Ginrummy are both names of card games.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheepshead_%28game%29 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gin_rummy
-
Those Samurais have a lot explaining to do. Bringing Zou into their quarrel with Kaido and stuff.
-
In that flashback of Ceaser, the smile-users look like regular zoans so these gifters might be some thing else.
-
Cannot wait to meet the Hurricane and the Earthquake.
-
It's nice reading first from Mangastream for a change. I'm not used anymore to good translations making sense immediately
And the plot is starting to get really interesting. Now I'm tempted to believe Sanji's leave of absence may have to do with Caesar…
Also, I'm really enjoying the character designs here. The Duke and Sicilion are especially enticing.
-
Is that infant mink and his mom from the same species?

Nice info. Have to admit, only heard of rummy, but don't know anything about it.
The cover was touching as hell. The look of joy on their faces. Usopp really did it. Look at that bounty FFS! They pretended they were pirates like 2 years ago, lol. Awesome.
Gotta say, not liking the fact flashback was paused. But I guess it had to make a little break, since that all happened like a week or two before SH even got there.
I'm guessing Inuarashi is thankful to entire crew because Jack had to leave after they defeated Dofla.
Btw, soon as I saw Jack's hair, I thought of Lola. He must look ridiculous in human form, lmao.
-
So is Jack the right hand man of Kaidou? Cause Mangastream are the first ones I see mention it.
-
Should Kaido's Right Hand man be called King or Ace?
Or wait, the latter is dead. -
Is Jack Weeble's alter ego or

I didn't know that….
Wonder if we'll someone called Uno:ninja:Is that infant mink and his mom from the same species?
nope, Momma looks like a llama (ro something related) and baby looks like a fox.
Someone mentioned it before, the Minks aren't gonna be restricted to models in the family (a parent is a fox so baby will be fox too) but be like the merfolk and fishfolk. Not only can parents be different models from each other, the children can be models that neither parent is.

@Donkey:

Maybe they are something like a first generation SMILE users. Maybe SMILE took time to get developed into a fully fledged animal transformer and early versions only gave ability to transform body parts into a single animal body part. If that's the case, those guys should be called Bad Luck Brians instead of Gifters.
-
That was the worst chapter of one piece in a long time for me. Not a single page I cared about.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's the ability of SMILE, rather than Zoan's 3 transformation (normal, half-zoan, full zoan)It is possible with Zoan to since Lafitte and Marco where able to do it but so far we don't know how it is possible (do you need to learn haki or whatever ?)
Will the 3 musketeers be in fact 4 like in the novel ?

Shoots. Bad for you. We liked and you don't.

Maybe some youngster will prove himself or something. Like in the novel.
I doubt these are zoans using partial transformations. At least Marco and Lafitte transformed their arms into wings, which makes sense. Sheep turned his arm into a horn. It's like they can only grow a specific part of the animal on them.
-
I hope we get to see a Praying Mantis Zoan among Kaido's top ranks.
-
Does Inurashi remind anyone else of Whitebeard.
It not just his size, but the little of his personality seems similar. And does he have same laugh as Robin?… I think its Robin who has the 'fufu' laugh

Fufu is the generic manga laugh
-
I think I know how Jack looks in human form.
Same hairstyle and everything.:ninja: -
These past chapters have felt like arriving at an awesomely cool new videogame level that you just can't wait to explore- but you gotta watch a 20 minute cutscene first. The main thrust of the story remains the crew walking around getting status updates, and when the Editors note says "What on earth happened on Zou?" I just want to know what is going to happen on Zou. Like, once the walk-and-talk is over and we know what the deal with the Gas weapon is, what happened when team Sanji arrived and fought Sheepshead, and where Sanji and CC wound up. Once all that is done I guess they're gonna go search for Raizou?
Lion-guy really reminds me of someone, might be from another manga.
Edit: Its The whole "I will do everything TO THE EXTREME" attitude. I think the character I'm thinking of said it like "A man must do nothing half-heartedly!" or something. Damn, this is going to drive me nuts.

I miss Aohige :( Need his enlightenment in order to not get mislead by poor translations.

Oda is cruel :cwy:

Funny it was my favorite in awhile story wise and art wise.
Loved it. -

He has no drought ability. It is not meant literal. He is so big and strong that where he steps everthing turns to dust. He is most likely an ancient Zoan mammoth.
-
-
Maybe Dracule Mihawk?
Naw, more the "I will do everything TO THE EXTREME" attitude. I think the character I'm thinking of said it like "A man must do nothing half-heartedly!" or something. Damn, this is going to drive me nuts.
-
Nice wrapup chapter, assuming that flashback parts are done with this.
-
God damn it I wanted to see the reactions of the villagers who doubted Usopp. Oh well, still good to see the boys and Kaya again.
I'm amused at the sight of a bunch of civilian furries, including a milf and her small child, fighting back with lightning attacks.
Seeing the others bash Luffy was also amusing.
Also still dying to know who the 795 mink girl was. She kinda looks like the nurse, but at the same time not quite.
