It's a popular theory, but I seriously doubt.
Popplio is obviously circus themed. It has the bouncing ball, the clown collar, the nose that doubles as a clown nose and a clown hat… and it is a seal/sea lion. It is almost literally a circus seal.
On the other hand, Rowlet and Litten got nothing that is obviously circus themed.If they intended to have the trio have such a theme, it would be really weird to make one of them look right out of the bat like it was just taken from a circus show while not give any evidence of it to the other two.

I wanted to clarify about the "leak" for people who weren't in the "know".
What happened was that someone had noticed new trademarked names that appeared to be pokemon names. They were the Japanese names and people guessed the animals based off of their names. No one had any pictures, there weren't anymore, and there isn't a leaker.

Not really. It's only certain on gen6. You could make some mental gymnastics to claim that gen4 were countries, like empoleon france, infernape china and torterra… something else.
And there's the obsession about the fire starters comming from the chinesse zodiac, stretching it to include whatever stage of evolution is convenient to the theory, and forgetting how different creatures are a western and eastern dragon, that foxes aren't dogs, and that whatever typhlosion is, it is not a rat.

I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

I was pretty good on XY about not looking at the final leaks... but unfortunately due to the low count of that gen,even just looking at the officia Corocoro releases they'd already shown EVERYTHING except a handful of evolutions, the ghost trees and Avalug, which were both super late game.

The good thing is that, unless this game brings VERY few pokémon, there is no way they can reveal a big part of it before the game is released. Next week Coro Coro will most likely only repeat what we already got today and, after that, we'll be left with only 5 more before the game is out. Even if they pack it with new pokémon and new mega, plus the few we get from other sources, I doubt they will be able to show more than 40 new designs before november.

But OMFG, Rowlet! I haven't done Grass starters since Serperior, but I can't resist an Owl with a bowtie! Litten and Popplio are adorable too, and I would love a fire cat, but I just can't resist.
I dunno… Grass Flying sounds weak to a lot of things.
It now is weak to ice, but being Grass means it can take out Rock. It all evens out.
I would HOPE clothing returns or this would be a VERY different game.
Oh it BETTER return.
I don't get it why people hates Sea Lion Clowns.

As RuNa said before they weren't leaks, everyone. They were trademarks on the names which is pretty legit as far as info goes
Such as, you know, the names of the games being released literally a day before the announcement.

Nintendo should leak whatever fun stuff the Regis do this generation. That way we'd never be sure if it's true or not until the games come out.

On XY corocoro revealed almost every Pokemon beforehand, I had little to no surprises.Maybe I'll avoid Pokemon and gaming sites on the second week of each month u.u

Well, Hoppip was already grass/flying so…
0 x weak to ground
.25 weak to grass
.5 weak to water, fight2x weak to fire, poison, flying, rock
4x weak to ice1 immunity, 3 strong, 5 weaknesses.
So, not really worse than a typical grass type, (which also has 4 strengths, 5 weaknesses) but that 4x ice is pretty bad.
And yes, thick fat as a hidden ability would go a long way for it... but we have no idea how it evolves or what it learns, so...

Don't forget Tropius, also Grass/Flying. I had a cousin that used it and I would just drop in with my Glalie and destroy it.
But yea, a couple pages back I was mentioning to Tyrano how Grass/Flying has about as many weaknesses as just Grass, aside from the double-Ice weakness.

Thinking about it, putting flying on any of the starters makes them 4x weak to something. Fire is weak to rocks, grass to ice, and water to electric.
And considering that pure flying type doesn't exist outside of legendaries, it pretty much only exists to muck with other typings. Shame soooo many birds are normal/flying.

The fact ice beam is so prevalent on water types is what I would worry about. You know, if I were to pick Rowlet. Which I'm not, so I guess I have no worries! Huzzah!

I'm expecting Mega Tropius, or a Tropius evolution. It's hawaii. He just fits so well. Also, Executor is in need of a mega. Oh and magcargo should get one! because volcanoes.
