- Trainers now also show up in battle
- New animations for each move
- Characters no longer look chibified in the overworld
- Speaking of the overworld, those visuals, nghhh
- Smoother light effects and shadow
So many improvements in just one trailer.

Yup, Rowlet, Litten and Popplio are the starters, November 18th for USA/Aus/NZ & 23rd for EU

Absolutely no idea what starter I'm gonna use, they all look cool to me. Will have to wait to see later forms before I decide.

Litten is who I am picking at the moment
But version-wise will be more based on version exclusive Pokemon

My prediction for the evolved starters types are water/fighting (since it is acrobatic) I think owl will retain it's Grass/Flying all the way, and logically Fire/Dark would fit the trio best, however Fire/Ice could also fit I think and would be really cool.

It could be my Water starter bias but I feel Popplio is the cutest starter. I like the lion way more than the bat, but I've also picked the 'red' legend the last two times with Yveltal and Groudon. A cool typing/moveset could perhaps make me change my mind.

So much more than I expected. XY/ORAS were already pretty great visually but Gen VII is looking wonderful.

I like the Moon legendary WAY more. But legendaries always end up forgotten in my boxes anyway, so it shouldn't matter that much.
Regarding Popplio, some people are guessing it could become Water/Fairy. It would be nice.

Though Europe once more gets insanely shat on. By the time we get the game some fucker in the USA will have spoiled the entire game for us. Way to go.

Idk I thoroughly looked through the video and didn't see any change to the trainer outfit color or otherwise. Maybe it was just lighting?
1:15 when he meets the kid in the black shirt. His shorts are also black instead of brown.
The Japanese trailer has the same scene at 2:05 and he in the original outfit.

Unless Rowlet gains weight as it evolves, thus losing its flying type, I don't see it.

It is the largest owl that ever existed, it is extinct (except for Serperior, I think, every last stage of a grass starter is based on an extinct animal) and, as a plus, it was flightless.
The bad thing is that now I will hate anything else GF comes out with because I really loved this idea

Oh well, since I will try to avoid leaks this time, I will probably start the game before finding out what they will evolve into…
I successfully avoided most spoilers for X/Y(only saw the initial trailer and that mega evolutions existed by seeing Mewtwo Y) so I'll try it for S/M as well.
It was nice to see a release date for Gen VII, now if we could get one for Dragon Quest VII I'll be satisfied..

I love all of these starters, they're all so cute… I'm so happy, and I'm going to pray so hard that Litten gets a good evolution because cats in Pokemon are so perpetually jacked, there's only like two final evolutions that aren't terrible extensions of the original form (Meowstic and Purugly are good designs and whatever Skitty turns into is... fine, BUT I LOVE PURRLOIN AND MEOWTH SO MUCH WHY DOES THEY JUST... LET ME DOWN).
I love both legendaries too?! I NEVER like legendaries but here we have a nice lookin Lion and some perfect fucked up moon queen. It's great.

For now the old walrus doesn't seem to be "the" professor, it's unclear what role he has (maybe the supreme professor? The head of the evil team?), but the other one named Kukui seems to be the guy. It seems to be mainly because "Kukui" can be referred also to "Candlenut", and as we all know if you got named after a tree you will become a Pokémon professor in the future.

One thing that does stand out is that characters aren't chibi-digified in the overworld like they were in 6th gen.
