So apparently the pokébank update happened. Especially given how everyone and their mother on GTS is asking for ridiculous stuff. Now I just need someone to trade me Spiritomb/Dusknoir so I can use them to get Pursuit as an egg move.

Oh thanks man, but I did manage to get a Dusknoir from Noqanky actually so I'm set. Though seeing as how I didn't play gens 2-6 I may eventually pester for other random things.

Because when I tried to trade off perfectly legit Hidden Ability Chikoritas, the game wouldn't let me… Like, seriously, there is nothing about a Chikorita in a Friend Ball with its Hidden Ability that can't be acheived in the game through legal means. I did just that; bred the HA Meganium I got last Gen until I got a female, bred that with the Friend Ball Chikorita I'd caught via Island Scan, and continued the process until I had some Friend Ball Leaf Guard dudes with good stats and the right nature.

Speaking of generous wonder trading, I was handing over extra trade-evolution mons (Haunter, Graveler, etc.) and a Japanese girl gave me a Hakamo-o. Cool beans.
The Alolan dex is almost done (87%), as I've seen every pokemon except the rest of the UBs/Tapus and Magmortar. Unforunately for me, I found out that I never traded over the rest of my Heart Gold team. My 100-level pokemon (the ONLY six I've ever gotten to that level) are basicially trapped, because I reset my White 2 in a failed Nuzlocke. If I want them, I gotta play through the game again lol

So finally finished beating the champion after I downloaded Sun 2 months ago.
Decided to drop some thoughts on the game
! Was spoiled that Kukui was the "champion" but it was a brilliant twist. His team would be a real challenge if I did not set up my Kommo-o with Dragon Dances.
I got lucky because his daytime Lyrancoc had stone edge which didn't work as well when my badass dragon has a secondary fight typing to it uh huh.
! Proceeded to stomp half his team with a combination of sky uppercuts and a last suicidal outrage. The greatest problem was Magnezone and Snorlax. Magnezone because I lost my counter and did not have a fire type so there was no strategy involved except spamming my stronger attacks.
But Snorlax was crazy in his defenses, it took me two and a half of my pokemon to down him.
Overall, this gen's E4 was pretty good. (My biggest annoyance was Acerola).
! The Totem pokemon proved to be tough and a great addition. That fucker Lurantis with her Castforms was a keypoint because I soft resetted 4 times. I've forgotten how long I did that much of a soft reset ever since BW2. Also there's Totem Mimikyu which was a surprise (that thing is a tank). Off my head, this two gave me the most trouble and frustrating albeit memorable battles.
! Side note, maybe it's just me with ghost types but Nanu is one badass geezer. Dude wielded his dark types so well he's the trainer I lost to the most.
! Besides a weak Team Skull and a disappointing leader, Lusamine is a pretty compelling villain and while this storyline wasn't as dark as the Black White Saga, SuMo had its moments.
The whole Aether foundation thing was predicted so it's not that much of a shock but Gildon and Type:Null was a lot of fun.
Oh and she is strong. Not Cyrus level strong but stronger than alot of other villains(I'm looking at you, XY).
! Finally, who could forget best character: Lillie? It's been a while since I'm invested in a character as much as N. Hau and the Professor also got fleshed out.
! All in all, Pokemon Sun is a 7/10 with the only problems I had was that it started to drag mid-game. I also don't like most of the new pokemon and designs. That and the "post-game catching legendaries" thing should really be toned down a bit.
I don't suppose anyone has a spare Volcanion/Manaphy they'd like to contribute to my dex? I have every other legendary (barring the unreleased #802), and even spares of some.
So there's another Global Mission going on right now… and unlike the last two, it's looking like this one will actually succeed. One million GTS trades before the 14th? And it's already at over a hundred thousand? Yeah that'll go through fine.
It's already at 100k? That's unexpected. I have pretty much no use for GTS anymore, especially with everyone just requesting previous-gen stuff that I don't have (and I can't request them because I've never had them either). Anyway global missions are stupid. Unless they can offer a better incentive than FC. Because I have like 13,000 FC left and I've already used Rare Kitchens to bring an entire box to level 100, and I have 40 Bottle Caps left.

I haven't synchronized the game with any account this entire time while still using GTS, so it's definitely not forced. Well, at least I'm pretty sure I'm not, I still get the warning when going online that it failed to synchronize and I need to link the account, etc etc.

IIRC you can search for a mon you've never seen. Simply select the option after Z and type in the name.

It has to be there, otherwise it would be impossible to get version exclusive legendaries through the GTS.
I think it would be a good thing to not let version-exclusive legendaries come from GTS. Let them keep a bit of value by making people get their first one from a link trade.
Almost done with my Living Dex - Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh*, and Unova are all done, as is Alola. Only have the Kalos* pokemon left.
Which is good, because the nonstop breed->hatch egg->raise if needed gets really tedious very quickly.

Alolan dex in game, national is only in the bank itself.

I wish they would make an actual international dex with the species organized, one that would update every gen, instead of a national dex based on Kanto, what I mean is have Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu in order in the dex for example.

The best example of this (that comes to mind) is how HG/SS did things, retroactively adding in the Sinnoh evolutions of say….Eevee or Yanma to the Johto dex.
As for why it's not in Alola, I have two reasons to try to explain. The in-universe? Alola didn't have a league, so maybe a national dex is a modern idea in the same vein.
The out-universe? Gamefreak was lazy.

Much obliged. I usually find trades with my extras on the GTS to either fill in a completely missing line or skip the training process of a middle mon, but sometimes the 50th of mention of a legendary at 90+ level becomes too unreasonable.
Oh well, I should have known there wouldn't be a national dex. This time they went and actually gave real new entries for all the pokémon included in the game, I suppose 721 new entries would be too much.
Yea, considering that there's such a thing as pokemon bank, there's no reason anymore for expecting people to have every single thing within one game anymore. As a result, investing the time in entries for every single pokemon is an unreasonable cost down the line.
On the whole thing, I admit I kinda liked that the evil boss in this game is essentially evil because of wanting to get everything just for her collection. You know, since that's what a lot of people playing these games are essentially doing lol

I think most people back in the day just wanted some shines to be like the ones they see fit vs what the company gives them. (Like a green and pink Nidoqueen instead of the pink and white like her male counterpart or a blue shiny Dragonite.)
If I was making a video like this? I would make Machoke's shiny more Purple with the red stripes still there while an Orange Gyarados like the one from the Red & Green remakes.
Some colors can look doll while some can be better than the original.
It's sad how there are fewer videos like these online while the bigger Pokétubers focus more on things like that new Mega Pokémon or that Aloan Pokémon forms… lol
Because new forms and all the moves/stats that go along with them are more interesting to discuss than the fact that you think a hot pink Meowth would be all the rage…
How hard could it be to apply a color filter to the mon's texture, to make each individual mon vary just like with it's genes, on it's color. Not all the way, but like true animals, or how they did with Spinda's ears.
I'm asking, not acusing. I don't remember if it was easy on the cpu/gpu or not.
