Nope, he's from Osaka.
Since we're on the subject, is Noda Skywalker someone Oda knows?
Is he/she even an actual person or just a placeholder name?
Does Oda simply like their sugestions way more than the ones coming from the rest of Japan? We get a lot of covers requested by them so I always wondered what's the relation such person has to Oda.
I once imagined it could be one of his kids but then I also noticed the hometown and I guess Oda is based in Tokyo so it didn't add up. -

wolfwood, I am an extreme skeptic of "One Piece YouTubers" myself. Most of them are the typical cliche kids who can waste hours on "Shanks is 1/514541421 stronger than Kaido!!!!" and "Orochi will bring Kuina back from the dead and she will make a fusion dance with Zoro to assist Luffy in his fight againts Kaido!!!". Or in short, exactly the kind of people this forum prides itself in not having.
Mr Morj is different - he would fit well into Arlong Park, infact. Just try one of his recent videos. You'll see the difference in about a two minutes.

Ambience counts. A good meal eaten on a wobbly chair at the half table by the bathroom is worse than the same dish in the comfy booth at the corner. Youtube being the smelly bathroom in question. But at this point i feel like i'm just being a dick here so i'll cheerfully withdraw my objections to youtube commenting on stuff as a valid form of entertainment

Yes out of all the places to talk about rubber pirates it is truly exceptional. All the classy people are at least second generation AP:ers who look down on the AP people who came over on the second server migration

Nope. Just a dude who knows what Oda likes.

Ehm.. Something interesting.
Let's count forces!
We have in the island:
The "good" guys:
Foreign pirates
The strawhats
The heart pirates (all but Law captured)
Kid (other kid pirates location unknown, there are a bunch of other prissions)
Caribou.. (I did put the "good" in quotes)
Big Mom (rest of her forces still outside the island but could easily arrive, and push her back to neutral)
The MinksThe 9 scabards
Free and Willing: Kinnemon, Kanjuro, Raizo, the female one, Dogstorm
Still not ready: Catviper, Kappa dude
Unwilling: fat dude
???: the last oneMomonosuke and Hyori
Wano populace:
The not-benkei
The tengu
Tama and her beasts
General samurai populace
General wano populace at boiling point of revolution
General prisioners of wano
The Yakuza old man, and other yakuzaUnacounted but informed
Jimbe
Whitebeard pirates remanentsNeutral:
Big Mom's crewCP0 ambassador team
The bad guys:
Animal Kingdom Pirates:
Kaidoh
The three calamities
The gifters army
The non-smile headliners, most notably Drake, Hawkings and Apoo
Pleasures and WaitersThe shogunate
Orochi who while slimy seems to have non-zero combat power
His own samurai, only notable the man with the topknot pompadour who "killed" murasaki, so he's betraying him
The oniwabanshuI know that Kaido is impressive, but we need the top tier ninja/headliners/samurai to start playing roles. Specially with Big Mom in hard colision route with Queen.

Basically what we need is the, "these are the main bad guy forces", that Oda does in every arc
in Arlonng Park he had the 3 main fishmen take down a navy ship to cement them as the big bads
In Alabasta he had the whole Baroque Works main agents meet up at the spider cafe
In Sky Island he had the priests meet up with Enel to discuss Enel's survival game
in Eneis Lobby he had CP9 Meet again after years and compare there dourki
They introduced the entire Fishman pirates main members when those pirates tried to sneak away, and then reintroduced them when they were putting there plan in motion
They had that spread where they showed the entire Doflamingo organization and hierarchy in Dressrosathis is def what this arc needs, right now outside of Kaido and his calamities, the beast pirates just don't look as intimidating when compared to all the named characters the straw hats have on there side
-
On the other hand, the bad guys have Kaido, who is like The Hulk, Thanos without Infinity Gauntlet and Stormbreaker Thor put together.
-
I do not like medium therefore medium=bad. What a dumb argument.
I would not said that but it certainly not a medium for me. I don't know if it is because of my old age but watching videos is a hassle. My phone is full of podcasts and I enjoy reading forums or chats but video is not for me. Also most of the youtubers have this quick mounting scene which is suppose to be great but really irks me.
-
I think the basic issue most people have with youtubers is: Why do youtubers feel like their thoughts warrant a video over a forum post that says the exact same thing?
They should be required to watch the entire history of Nobbel, the guy who makes videos detailing World of Warcraft lore. If you're gonna make videos at least be like him - actually knowledgeable and pleasant to listen to.

The worst thing that exists is those reaction videos.
I don't dislike a reaction video from time to time. If it has enough editing and over the top reaction to be funny.
Live discussions involving several youtubers at the same time. Now that is a nightmare.

Did you turn stealth black on by accident ?

Well so again…
I am the generation
Won't look some stranger talking an hour into a webcam with fake reactions or doing some clickbait stuff. Not even talking about the comment section.Well but I am a cave man after all... Still not using Facebook

!
Never came across that other thing.
-
Well yeah this is hilarious IMO. (Also reminds me that the new Star Wars have amazing trailers that do not spoil the movie and that is rare. Sad that I didn't like the movie in the end)
kingoflightning reaction are pretty funny and he does just enough editing to add funny memes, at least that is what I think. I certainly don't watch to know his top 10 strongest characters or this kind of stuff.
I usually skip through his videos to see his reactions when Sanji does something cool and he his so sweaty he has to get a towel -
Is the problem with the youtubers themselves or the videos they make?
-
It's about the fact that they use youtube as a platform for EVERYTHING, even things that should not need it. Like "Oh, there's this new image gallery, in video form"
Yesterday I was watching a video about web potocols, and the dude keept hammering the port numbers, like it was the end all be all of the lesson, not his personal experience, or the different uses or peculiarities of that particular protocol, but things that I could get out of an excell table.
Or a video about a possible smash bros leak (of course), five minutes before showing the damn picture.
Or this video that makes the rounds in my seen section, once in a while, it has the manga covers of like 100+ WSJ series and they are ordered by total volume sales ever. Something that a table would serve better, but at least they put music and stuff.
I handle anitubers a little better because they put up their opinions first, as opinions, and have very little in the side of "facts" or facts, while that thread closer to the other side of youtubism, of making internet personalities as proxy friendships instead of entretainers.
My main issue with the average manga/one piece youtuber came when the year of AssClass ending, some youtuber analizing WSJ numbers was saying that the magazine knew nothing because how could they cancel such a successful series. Assassination Classroom had the built-in time limit of the end of the school year, continuing it would mean ignoring that established lore with "repeat year!" or "lol I lied" or "Here's another time bomb teacher!", it had explored the backstory of like 95% of the classmates, the rest wouldn't fit the scalation of the series as their core issues were way less harsh than the final few explored, and the fact that the author had said "I want to make this a short series". In the rush to have content, they said something wrong just because it fits their narrative. It made me feel that time watching like a complete waste of time, as if they could have this dumb fact wrong, how can I trust them for anything.

Or, "Hey the new season of DBS is coming out in July and it's a sure thing and you heard it here first and it will probably be announced on Goku Day or wait maybe it won't in fact I never really strongly believed that I thought it would probably mid-May oh look it's already mid-May and no announcement but WOAH LOOK OVER THIS WAY EVERYONE I HAVE A SERIOUS MEDICAL CONDITION that's right pay no attention to the fact that I nailed my foot to the ground by saying DBS would be out in July and I confirmed it with 13 sources and let's just forget that ever happening but remember, I predicted the next season of DBS and water is wet."
Gotta go fast.

I mean the dudes earn some money doing what they like in front of a camera.
Judging much.Even if this is mostly non productice and badly directed, as long as they are happy and don't arm anyone whatever.

I am pretty sure it emotionally harmed the fans quite a lot

People can still strongly dislike something that others might like even if it is harmless.
I think I stopped watching One Piece YT videos after one of them spread the "fact" that Corazon was manipulating Law to become the harbinger of doom for the celestials and that he didn't care about Law as a person at all. All because they only read the mangastream? mangapanda? translation, which was very obviously badly translated. Of course he did not accept my corrections with the official translations.
I like absurd and over the top theories but I do draw the line at false details.
-
I don't see anything wrong disliking those vids, I don't like them particualrly either. I problably watch one once a month at best.
But when I dislike something I just avoid it. I don't make a case that it shouldn't exist. Unless it should really not exist like mass murderers
One Piece reaction videos, sure let them do their bullshit in peace. -
The worst has been the smash leak cycle, and how everybody, even the good ones, were just the worst. The ones who bandwaggoned with the fake leaks pooped evidence, while the ones that didn't got attacked by the community for being non believers, and then went into "I told you so" asshole version mode when proven right. Toxicity all around.
-
I still like to watch some One Piece YT videos, not all of them but just some. There are so many videos on yt about everything, that I'm perfectly fine with there being videos on anything One Piece related even if they are horrible.

Not if the girl is cute. Like Jasmine on dwaye n jazz. But that's really the only time you need to see a face. Other than that i prefer the Chef John thing where you just have a voice-over over an instruction. Goofy commentary is a plus. Just y'know anything that isn't overanalysing an anime in front of a webcam. I'll even watch those pakistani dudes unpacking a phone and showing you it's features. Atleast those guys provide something of value to the public

I dont think you've really contradicted him
The story is about finding the one piece but the journey is always shpwn to be more important than the destination. Luffy helping Vivi wasnt about the one piece, luffy saving robin wasnt because of the one piece. in fact arguably until Zou happened did the strawhats themselves learn about the collision course with the poneglyphs necessitating he seek out the emperors and even then he went to big mom's to take back sanji and is in wano to help momo.
The actual goal, the one piece, is set to side, or rather in the background. Many things tie into it for sure and the choices luffy makes help him get closer to his dream but he doesnt make decisions based on what he thinks will get him closer to the one piece. He always states he wants to be pirate king. He rarey talks directly about the one piece at all. Its a step to him becoming the king but his focus on being the freest man on the seas.
The story is about a treasure search but if its all it was it'd be nowhere near where it is today.

The shogunate
Orochi who while slimy seems to have non-zero combat powerI would say he's sort of like Wapol, in that he's not a fighter without his DF, but he does have the rarest type of DF, so I can imagine he has features like super-tough scales/regenerative properties, and can like breathe fire/poison.
