Greg dumb question but is Oda looking forward to any video games? Like FF16 or Legend Of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?
No dumb questions! Oda is an avid mobile game gamer but afaik he observes console gaming via his team more than plays them himself because of work/life.
Say, Greg, do you think there are other models of the Fish-Fish Fruit, besides Kaido's?
Being a 'type' suggests that there may be. If we're to believe they're ancient creations, we have to wonder how much humor their creators had.
did Garp speak to Dragon to learn that he saw Luffy off in Logue town or did hear about it? I've seen it been translated both ways
I don't recall what scene you're referencing and I can't go digging atm. If you (or somebody) has the scene in question available I'm happy to give a look!
Greg any idea of what a Booze Man who ate the Glug Glug fruit can do? Or will we see that in the next few chapters to come
I think I was pondering out loud on Twitter or something that he might be a neat foil for Jimbei if Oda messes with density and CERTAINLY flammability. Of course, a similar argument would be made for Sanji with potential fire vs fire but we'll have to see.
What ya think for other SHs getting CoC?
I mean....I don't dislike the idea. They're a crew of DEEPLY dedicated individuals. To themselves, their crew, and their captain. They certainly have similar drives and at this point, many of them the confidence and resolve.
But if we're to follow the statistics that Oda provided way back, then....it does seem a bit much. Counterargument though is....they're the crew of the freaking (future) Pirate King so...ya never know.
considering that you mentioned quite a bunch of times the possibility of Blackbeard appearing at the end of Wano (possibly to finish off Kaido and get his fruit), and now that Shanks has mentioned that he went there because he expected him to appear, is it possible that it might be a meta commentary from Oda about how some things from the Wano epilogue had to be changed or dropped?
After all, Blackbeard going after Hancock and being interested in getting her power wasn't something that was easy to predict. And even if we had learned that he was interested in going after a Warlord, I'd say most would have predicted that it would have been Weevil because the Rocks stuff behind the scenes (Stussy and Whitebeard) and him declaring that he has to get revenge against Teach in his very introduction (chapter 802), or maybe even Buggy to use him as ransom against Shanks (lol).
Right! So, BB appearing at Wano depended a lot on Elbaf. My thought at the time was the basically what's happening at Egghead right now (Strawhats and Marines/WG colliding to make worldwide headlines) was going to occur at the end of Wano. If that happened, it may have had to involved BB and if it involved BB, it meant he (and his crew) had to display a phenomenal show of strength that changed the rules of the playing field. This was shown to us by IMU instead and it happened in a very different way from what I (still) believe will happen at Elbaf.
The question I wrestled with pre-Wano and through Wano was:
HOW DOES THIS END WITH BIG MOM IN PLAY?
That was the puzzle I was trying to solve the entire time and depending on how that played out, it meant a different stage for BB.
I don't believe it's meta nor that Oda necessarily was going to end it that way since he was able to keep Mom away from getting trounced by the Strawhats so that she remains, not a main boss threat, but still an antagonistic force that is locked and loaded for resolution by the time the story is done. I believe her history will come into play at Elbaf, however, how she herself will play into it is, largely, I believe dependent on Wano's 'opening' if she is in fact stuck in a wall on Wano or heaven forbid, stumbling upon the secrets of Wano herself.
