Thank god Oda is shaking things up, I had thought this will be a repeat of Water 7's escape.
But I really doubt Luffy will defeat Fujitora, the least he can do is put up a stalemate until Law comes back.
Chapter 798: Heart
-
-
Luffy doesn't even care about Shichibukais anymore.
So I'm expecting the rest of this series to be;
Majestic war with Kaido
Space arc, with some weird dude trying to be the God of Gods, having Enel as his personal bitch.
Back to the blue sea to fight Kid, who just killed Shanks, because there can be only one arm pirate
World War after OP is revealed, Akainu as main antagonist and Big Mom dies of a heart atack
StrawHats vs BlackbeardiansBut, No..More…Shichibukais!!!
-
Thanks Aohige, as always.
Sengoku said something touching and Luffy something badass.
Good finally we got that ;) -

OH I see where mangapanda fucked up in the last line.
No, Luffy never said he can't beat him because he's admiral.
He said "'Beating him some day' is not good enough anymore."
He's saying "one day I'll be strong enough to be admiral" is the kind of shit they left behind 2 years ago.Damn so it looks like Luffy is ready to go head on against Admirals now! This is exciting!
-
Lately I was always complaining about shitty chapters … but this one is f*cking amazing (except first pages with dwarfs) !
-
This was a really nice chapter.
Next chapter will be really interesting… And Sengoku is a great man
Here my favourite panel
http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/798/15Sai's and Bartolomeo's faces down right xD
-
Mangapanda always ducking up on the continuity! LMFAO!
-
Now that we're out of the Panda poop clearing stage, speculation time:
Law joins the fray (if it lasts for any amount decent amount of time). Him just standing around as all that goes on doesn't seem like something he'd do.
And Luffy letting Law sacrifice himself or something doesn't seem like he'd allow it either, so they might just actually beat Fujitora.
Bounties = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$P.S.: Gravity can't crush rubber
-
He wouldn't be able to beat Dofla without other's help. I doubt he can win an admiral for now.
-
Maybe I'm the only one, but I really don't like the art in the last chapters. I starts to look more like a sketchbook than anything else.
The important panels are drawn really nice, but some of the other panels are just…. ugh.A lot of detail is lost when Oda uses those really thick lines and every panel has to be super busy.
The art in the past few chapters has been better and less sketchier than what we've had for like over 20 chapters.
Especially the last one, that was the best art we'd had in a long while.–- Update From New Post Merge ---

Was the last chapter a shitty one?
Because if so this one is really no better written than it. -
Saw the title heart and thought we were going to see the "heart pirates".
Still amazing chapter and nice emotional moment for law as well. -
-
I could see this being a thing where Luffy is now at Ace's level. He battles evenly with Jinbe and now clashes with admiral (like Ace/Aokiji).

That was just elemental powers cancelling each other out. Ice and fire, water and fire. Ace was never a tank against strong hitters that can touch his logia form. BB almost broke his neck with a single neck chop.
-
Luffy + Law beating Fujitora would make no sense, but Luffy + Law + Zoro could be plausible.
-
Luffy is way above Ace's level now.

Sabo was able to hold his ground against Fujitora and they didn´t fight to the end…i can picture something similiar with Luffy and by that showcasing us that Luffy and Sabo aren´t strength wise as far away as Luffy was from Ace.

-
I take it that Law is going to act on his pirate king dream for real this time now that He's gotten permission to live his life the way he wants to thanks to Sengoku giving him closure . I have a feeling that with Law will l show his thank you to Luffy at this moment to something badass and We'll get a ending to the Riku family storyline . I really liked reading this chapter. I have to say that the Corazon parts of Law's backstory were my favorite parts .

New AMV potential? :)
A love song about "gravity can't get us down"? Maybe if someone yaoi's Law and Luffy together…
Occurs to me that the flying debris is gonna be a problem though, so maybe Law is the only one who can deal with that. He might end up playing defense for everyone
-

How would that not make sense? Law and Fujitoras abilities kind of cancel out each other. Fujitora is a much better matchup for Law than Dofla was. This isn't DBZ where B>C and A>B so A>C, no.
-
A very good chapter. It was nice that Sengoku and Law finally came face to face to discuss Rocinante, and him revealing he was a "D" and Sengoku probably knowing more than he lets on about them…..
Fujitora finally actually doing something. -
On second thought, a person with the ability to pull down meteors makes lifting a bit of rubble, albeit the size of a small island, look tame.
Makes me wonder, what if devil fruits existed through out all of history in the One Piece time line, and hundreds of millions of years ago a dinosaur ate Fuji's devil fruit from way back when, and accidentally called down a meteor that led to a mass extinction of life?
I think that's enough for today lol

I have to disagree, that page is great.
ESP. the 2nd panel of that page It is the only thing in this chapter that made me laugh out loud…. Look closely at the marines on the right hand side... as the rest are looking around for weapons, one marine is looking down his pants[hide] [/hide]

Lol nice find. I'd be scared to keep a weapon in there, myself. Unless he was making sure something else hadn't gone missing.

sHRIEKING SO HARD
-
Come to think of it, Law sort of just reached his main dream, didn't he? He's unlike every one of the Strawhats now. (Although you could debate Usopp having reached his or not)
What'll it be now, Law? A world without bread? You ain't gettin' the Pirate King thing. -
I have to disagree, that page is great.
]You may be right. I'm just sick of dwarfs and princesses ) I just can't stand their faces…
-
on one hand the fact that law is there now give them an easy escape,he can just teleport luffy on the other side of barto's barrier (that really seems invincible as he says since even an admiral decides to go around it),and deal with the rain of rubble with a room much like he did with the meteor back on the coast of green bit (can he do it on that scale though?)..
on the other hand, after such an ending, luffy has to go all out and THROUGH fuji..i don't think his speech meant necessarily that he wants to go one on one, just that he's over with running away…so an actual grouup fighting, especially with the marine reinforcements called out, against fujitora would reinforce the idea of an alliance and make an eventual return of that in the kaidou arc more sense. -
@Don:

Two completely different situations, with different motives.
-Fujitora was using Sabo as an excuse to stop him from going after Luffy. Fujitora has no intentions of defeating Sabo at that time.
-Now were looking at a serious Fujitora who wants to stop Luffy with all his powers, as stated. -
Lol nice find. I'd be scared to keep a weapon in there, myself. Unless he was making sure something else hadn't gone missing.
Odd thing is that three are a lot of characters that do carry something that loos like a stick down their pants…. like Foxy below..
So I'm assuming that this marine did and now its gone
…. I don't know what's worse, a dwarf going there to steal it... or stealing all the victim's clothing  -
Don't forget that all the marines gave their blood for manshellys healing. They're airway collapsing from it. Fujitora will also be affected by this. There's not gonna be a battle. He's already exerted himself lifting all the rubble.

Remember that one of the dwarves' first actions was to strip marines and Robin of all weapons. Nice bookend showcase of the dwarves' power.

Yeah! XD I could probably make an AMV about Fujitora vs everyone in One Piece once the anime catches up with the source material in the summer of next year. lol
-
Can't believe I couldn't guess that Orlumbus collapsed those marines last chapter. Seemed clear as day after seeing them this chapter, lying down, unable to move.
Nice translation from MP. It's easy to see that they translated sentences ass backwards even for someone who can't read japanese. I don't even know why I keep getting surprised at this point. Looking forward to Mangapanda Abridged thread, Psycrow.

I've got a new prediction about the outcome of the battle…
Law comes up and is all "wtf bro" and Luffy tells him and the others to keep the ships/etc safe from the debris. That's their role as Luffy at least mostly solo's Fujitora.
At least, that would the most sensible, clean-cut thing to happen-- not that anyone can actually predict Oda.
I'm still also questioning how much threat the blind gravity-using Fuji really is to a haki-using rubber man. It's like anything he would do to Luffy would be by extension of his abilities, and if take away Haki for each of them, Fuji might as well be a lifeless target dummy, not having any chance to do anything to Luffy aside from something sharp getting super lucky and hitting him, or unrealistically suffocating Luffy with debris that happens to maintain no airholes and that Luffy for whatever reason can't power himself out of. Plus there's all the pirates on Luffy's side, whereas the marines have cleared out from Fujitora's. -
There is Luffy, Law and a bunch of highly rated pirates. On the other side there is just Fujitora. I doubt he will even try to fight all of them at once. He wont have a chance.
-
His ability can level the difference out easy. Some abilities are just like that. When he has the city's worth of rubble hanging in the air, waiting for him to drop it down, numbers don't matter.
-

law can easily counter that as long as they are all in one location

I think you're seriously underestimating Issho.
Remember when the Whitebeard pirate commanders tried ganging up on Sakazuki to stop him getting to Luffy at Marineford?
In the face of an admiral, numbers mean little.

If i'm not mistaken, Akainu fought against Marco, Vista and other commanders at once. Fujitora is an admiral as well, so why not ? There is also two vice-admirals.
-
Stalling until chapter 800 obviously.
Rinse and repeat this comment for the following chapters.
If you're that frustrated that Dressrosa hasn't ended yet, why not take a break for a few chapters instead of sounding like a broken record every chapter thread.
-
Aside from Luffy, Fujitora would destroy every one of Luffy's new friends just by himself. Bastille is right east port no longer needs back up.
But hot damn! Finally Luffy not running away and facing an admiral?!
-
law can easily counter that as long as they are all in one location
"Easily"? I don't think so. I think they would all have to be perfectly coordinated or there would be a lot of hurt or dead people. And Issho should be either completely incompetent or letting them escape once again.

I liked the Law and Sengoku conversation, but this was definitely one of this times where the translation ruined it initially. I read it and I thought it was good until that last part which was confusing. Then I read Aohige's summary and I suddenly found that scene to be beautiful. Really goes to show how a good translation can make a huge difference. I like how you get a bit of a parallel with Corazon, Law, and Sengoku. Sengoku took in and helped a lonely Corazon, who grew up to be a great person. The only time he went against Sengoku was to help Law, which is what Sengoku did many years before. Part of me feels that Sengoku is actually not taking Law in because of how important he was to Corazon. He feels that by taking in Law, he would be betraying Corazon in some way. So instead he'll just let him go live his own life, now that he is not bound by revenge anymore.
The spread with Fujitora holding the rubble up was quite awesome, and just adds another cool moment for him. I know Luffy would have to show he would be able to at least take on an Admiral, but this felt pretty quick, especially since he is not in top shape and still recovering. I'm assuming with help and possibly Fujitora being affected by Mansherry as well, he will be held off but there won't be a decisive victory. Either way, interested to see how this goes down. Depending on what happens, we might have them leaving by next chapter. Then again, we still need King Riku to make his announcement which has been built up during the post-arc stuff, so I have doubts. Then again, it may not be given a whole lot of screen time, since Law and Sengoku's stuff only took up a small part of this chapter.
One last thing. When I saw the title of the chapter, my mind thought of that one infamous Bleach chapter. I was expecting that one moment to come up for some reason in the chapter. Thankfully it didn't happen.
-
I expect this 'fight' to only last a chapter. Something is going to stop it, what exactly I don't know. Maybe Sengoku arrives and convinces Fujitora to let them be. I mean like just 8 chapters ago we had an entire chapter dedicated to the theme of the people of Dressrosa overcoming the tyranny of Doflamingo and being liberated now that the battle was finally over. Now we're going to start a new battle in the ruins of Dressrosa? Against an even stronger opponent?
