Wow, it sounds pretty lame.
Well, better than ''Central'' or ''Power''….
I meant the magazine itself. I can't really see a Shoujo magazine doing THAT well in America..
I am going to buy it. It has Nana in it, an Ai Yazawa is my hero.
I'm not buying it because I don't really care for feminine looking men, Shoujo style!
And….....I hate VIZ.
I'm not buying Viz products right now, nor am I a big shoujo fan, but Nana does have me curious. Many One Piece female fans I know really like it.
I am a male and a One Piece fan and I love Nana. It is one of the most original shoujo mangas I have read since Angel Sanctuary. I just hope that this monthly magazine doesn't edit the crap out of it.
editing + Americanizing x manga = the Shonen Jump line of Viz.
Viz is just trying to feed of of Tokyopop's LARGLY popular Fruits Basket manga series. Now it looks like Viz wants to offend the fangirls with their edited versions of manga, along with the fanboys of Shonen Jump.
Not to get off topic, but Tokyopop is not god's gift to translated manga, either. They made so many mistakes in their early titles, like GTO, Bebop, and Chobits….I almost wish they'd do a re-release.
I had prefered Viz and found them higher quality until I found out about the dialogue changes, edits, and other recent shadyness.
What titles are in the magazine beside Nana?
CRIMSON HERO and NANA (from Shueisha), KAZE HIKARU and ABSOLUTE BOYFRIEND (from Shogakukan), and GODCHILD and BABY AND ME (from Hakusensha)
I'll buy it, at least for the first issue, since my sister translated Aka-chan to Boku (Baby and Me) for Aku-Tenshi. It'd be fun comparing. Probably I'll buy tanko for that one, too.
